Excellent typical country pub with good meals, both in the evening and at breakfast. Decor in room and bathroom were a little dated but both very clean. If you want a night away or a couple of nights to explore the area then the Blacksmiths Arms is a good place to rest your head.
Tere is parking close to the pub, on the road, in a small car park and just outside on the green. However, when we arrived at 8pm on a Friday night these places were all taken and so we had to park about 150m away on a side street. This was not a real issue apart from getting wet bringing our bags in

This is a lovely friendly welcoming family run pub. It is in a tiny village where I was made to feel very welcome and whilst I was looked after very well, I was also left alone to enjoy my stay. All staff were super helpful, the food I had here was very nice and very good quality and the pub has a very nice atmosphere. There was everything you would need in the room short of your Toothbrush! The shower was nice and hot and powerful and plenty of towel were supplied. There was a kettle, coffee, biscuits etc Most people I spoke to local to the surrounding areas seemed to know of the pub and everyone commented on the food being good there. I would stay here again and would recommend to others.
I didn't have the best nights sleep, but I don't think you ever do when not in your own bed. The bed was a little hard for me, but the pillows were comfortable.

The staff were without exception very friendly and welcoming, and the local people hospitable also. Breakfast was lovely, and the Cumberland sausage the best I have had in years!
There wasn't a view from my room, but, I was staying overnight to sleep having spent a full day in the beautiful countryside, so in fact the lack of view was immaterial.

The beer garden was lovely and peaceful. The staff were very friendly. The room was comfy and well appointed, and the location was really beautiful.
The continental breakfast was a bit meagre--very small selection of cereals and no granola or fresh fruit. Even the jam was not so nice, as it was mostly pectin and very little fruit.

A lovely country pub with very good choice of meals available.
Lack of fresh fruit at breakfast and generally heavy, stodgy food choices. Seem to offer chips with practically everything, all carbs and fat but very little in the way of lighter and healthier food options.

I have stayed here before and loved the friendly, quaint pub so when my husband and I planned a weekend walking in the area he suggested we stay here again. We could not fault the welcoming ambience, good wholesome food and friendliness of both staff and locals.

Polite and friendly staff, good food and wine. Breakfast was perfect, with strong rich coffee. Bed was remarkably comfortable. Excellent value for money.
Decor was a little dated. Shower cubicle was small for a six footer. Can't find fault beyond these minor issues
