A lovely dog-friendly pub in Brampton. I love dogs but don't own one... non-dog owners, you should be aware the place is scrupulous clean and there is absolutely no 'doggy' smell, so do not be put off. The decor is lovely and the staff are friendly. I could barely move by the time I got there due to achey legs, but they were very tolerant of my hobbling. Breakfast has everything you could want. If you're walking, you can load up for the day, giving plenty of energy. There's a lovely welcome pack with all the info you need to know about the B & B during your stay, plus extra info about local attractions. It's right next to a number of local shops, too, including a chemist if needed, so the location is good. Wall walkers- it will cost you around £10 from Walton in a taxi.

The breakfast was first class. A properly full English breakfast, with generous servings of everything. The beer choice was good and the atmosphere was brilliant The location in terms of a day trip to Hadrian's Wall couldn't be faulted. The staff were polite, welcoming and had good senses of humour.

Nothing jumps to mind, although....as an Australian visitor, I did find it strange people had dogs in the dining room. More concerning was when they barked at each other and at one point, gums were peeled back and they seemed quite vicious.

location was perfect. although no on-site parking, there is a free car park at the back of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. the bathroom was spacious and had good shelving space where we could put our own toiletries. we also liked the small shelf in the shower.

as one might expect with an historical building, the floor of our room had a slope, which might have presented challenges to somebody with mobility difficulties.

I'm regularly up in the Carlisle area for work and have stayed in countless local Hotels. I have FINALLY found the Hotel that I'll be staying at everytime. It was faultless. The room (Tiny Tim) was spacious, clean and cosy with all expected Mod Cons in a Modern Hotel Room. I loved how each room had a selection of Local Walks for you too choose from in their welcome book. The food was fantastic and they were beyond accommodating. Even though Brampton is a small village with what would appear to have limited Parking, there is actually a big free carpark behind the pub which was really handy for my Luton Van, as that definitely would not have fit in a space on the main square. The owners have 3 gorgeous, friendly dogs that roam about the pub too - so cute! Would 100% recommend this place.

Excellent food in the bar and great breakfast choices, perfectly cooked. The staff were all excellent - friendly and great service.

Personally didn't like the number of dogs wandering around the bar. Definitely not a place for people who like restaurants to be dog-free. The pub had some problems with the radiator controls in our room - so was almost impossible to regulate the temperature. In fairness, the owner did try to help, but we still spent a night in a really overheated room.

Perfect location in the centre of the town with great free parking behind the pub. The bed was incredibly comfortable with beautiful bedding, especially the pillows. The team couldn’t have been more attentive, kind and welcoming. The breakfasts on both morning good. I’m not a fan of buffets but there was something for everyone. The food off the menu, very good and best of all coffee from the machine on the bar. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place, bedroom was spotlessly clean and the shower superb! Was given a very warm welcome and shown to my room on arrival and asked if I needed anything. There was a band on which was an added bonus but no noise could be heard in the bedroom. I opted for a bacon roll for breakfast as I didn't think I could eat a cooked breakfast, I saw staff bringing out the cooked breakfasts, they were huge! The bacon roll was also huge with lots of tasty bacon, they source local food which is great too. The morning coffee was delicious! Loved it, would definitely stay again and certainly recommend, thank you!

Welcoming staff, very comfortable beds, lovely rooms and the food is exceptional. Excellent location for exploring the area and the market town of Brampton is lovely.

We booked two rooms and they were both equally well equipped and very comfortable, however the larger room with views across the high street was superior in my opinion and we paid the same rate for both rooms. Would have liked a reduced price on the smaller room.

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of town. Our room was bigger than normal. The room amenities were good. Shower and bathroom were good. Breakfast was also good. We also used the bar downstairs and the restaurant. The food and service were good. It's ideal for touring Hadrians wall.

No real complaints, parking is disc restricted out front, but finding somewhere nearby that was free was not a challenge. The hotel has a lot of custom for walkers, and ramblers and people touring hadrians wall, so this might not suit all tastes.

The room was very clean tidy and generally comfortable, the hotel and restaurant staff were extremely welcoming and very polite and checked if everything was good. The food was good and reasonably priced. I was out all day and I was taken care of with packed breakfast. The room had good facilities with tea coffee etc.

My room seemed to suffer from noise when people exited via the external door next to the room as the platform moved and someone seemed to be moving furniture around in the room above, but wasn’t a problem at night
