- Warm welcome. - Location at a walking distance from the city centre. - Very comfortable bed. - Room is small but clean, decorated in style and very well equipped, including a tray of tea/coffee/biscuits/fruit, an extra blanket and a bathrobe! - Car parking is not an issue, as the establishment provides a parking disk.

- The guest house is close to a busy road; traffic can distinctly be heard in spite of the double glazing. - The shower and toilets are on the landing, which is acceptable for the price, but there was no heating in it. This is quite a deterrent for taking a shower on a cold month of winter! - The bedroom door can only close in full when it is locked.

Lovely clean and airy room in a traditional property, tasteful Christmas decorations. Came with a tray with chocolate treats, a mince pie and a satsuma! Really appreciated these touches. Also a cosy dressing gown and a hot water bottle you could make up, I had a lovely quiet night. Breakfast also excellent, full veggie and some porridge, on time and very friendly service. Close to the train station and easy to find.

It's a shared bathroom for the room I was in, which was fine as I knew that and didn't cause me any issues. Slightly noisy from the street traffic - again, this didn't bother me and it was quiet at night + they supplied ear plugs if needed (I didn't use them).

We were able to have two large rooms with two beds in them. Which is really important for two gal friends sharing a room. The owner was gracious and accommodating. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! Location was just a block off of the Hadrian's wall trail and an easy walk to restaurants and museums in town.

One of our rooms was on the top floor and you have to carry your luggage up. We travel light so it wasn't much of a problem. The showers are quite small- expect a bit of elbow banging. Also in the middle of the night when you use the toilet, the bright bathroom light goes on automatically, Which might wake up your roommate. Not a great system.

I don’t normally stay in Bed and Breakfasts due to my previous outdated experiences of them in rural Ireland several decades ago. This experience may change that. I had a superb and warmest welcome. I was blown away by how beautiful the place is. I had my assistance dog, Precious, who was also given a warm welcome. The breakfast was great value, very delicious, in fact, it was my first real meal in a very long time as I suffer from anorexia, the presentation tempted me to eat and I did. The dining room is beautiful, beautiful dishes, better than a 4 star hotel. There are inspirational pictures around the place and the atmosphere is that of a homely environment. The price of the accommodation is very reasonable. Plenty of room in your room to hang up your clothes. (I was backpacking and had a lot of stuff.) The linen was soft and comfortable, not like what I will be spending the next three weeks in a tent embracing and braving the weather! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It’s a 10 minute walk to the station and very close to the town/city centre.

I arrived later than planned but was able to self-check in using the information provided by the owner via text. Parking was explained as well as how to order breakfast if needed. Clean, comfortable bed. Deep covers. Sink in room and a hanging rail. My room didn't have an en suit but the bathroom down the hall was clean, tidy and the shower was good considering it's electric. The owner was welcoming and friendly. We chatted at breakfast a little and I can recommend the smashed avocado toast. Location was great for town as I was staying on business.

Melanie was massively helpful directing me as I got lost with my sat nav and she greeted me at the door with a huge smile and welcome and took me through everything. Free parking excellent and just down the side road. Room was lovely and the bed so comfortable. Very clean and great tv. Awesome shower with funky lights. Centrally located. Overall a perfect stay, excellent hosts, all seemless with online check-in and out and highly recommended and would definitely look to stay again.

Nothing! All perfect!

The location was excellent for those doing the Hadrian’s Wall Walk in particular cause it is close the parh. But it is in a nice part of town regardless. The hostess was very nice, and accommodating and wanted to make sure the guests were happy. Breakfasts were excellent and served elegantly in a lovely dining room with period details. My room was quiet and clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend.

Super friendly host, delicious breakfast with a great range of options (for £10 extra - worth it as it was really tasty and a hearty portion). Nice touches of fresh ground coffee, teas, dressing gown and a foot spa in the room which was lovely and much needed after a long hike. Would highly recommend for anyone doing the Hadrian's wall trail, particularly solo travellers like myself. Thanks for a great stay!

It was so lovely. I needed it as a stop off on my way to do the coast to coast walk but it might be favorite in the trip. I paid little over £40 for a single room. I had to share a bathroom but it was clean and right by my room. The welcome was fantastic and so friendly. I loved the little welcoming package in the room with the flapjack, tangerine and the cream egg in the mini pan!!! It was really quiet and I slept amazing. I loved that the radiator had it's own thermostat so you could have the room as you wanted.

Nothing really....

I had a great stay, the property was clean. The bed was comfortable. I was made to feel welcome. Little finishing touches go a long way such as the option of ground coffee and granulated and lovely little treats that were left in the room, the were a range of different tea and good choice of breakfast . The hosts clearly care.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.
