First of all in the Cumbria Park Hotel I met the dearest receptionist ever, he was very kind, very helpful and patient. Unfortunately I couldn't remember his name, but for me he was Santa Claus. In addition the hotel was really beautiful, we had huge and equipped rooms and the breakfast was awesome, especially the eggs benedict!!
Only miniature inconvenience was that the front doors were closed and we had to get around to the back door...but really nothing bad that I can say about this hotel!

I found this hotel a very nice surprise, very clean and comfy room with ensuite - my only observation with that is that the shower is an over bath type, some may find it harder to step into the bath as oppose to a shower tray. The small enclosed decking area was nice to sit in on an evening in the good weather. Breakfast was excellent - a nice breakfast room, with good service and choice - a real highlight. A lot of thought and effort with detail has gone into this place. I'll definitely stay again when in the area.
I felt dinner, while delicious, was a touch expensive - I'd say that £4.99 for side orders of things like chips is steep. Only other negative is common to a lot of places these days - irritating loud, modern music constantly pumped through every public area. Musical taste is a person matter of course, but having to raise your voice over some breathy youngster, shouting how tortured her soul is because the love of her life won't return her calls doesn't really add to the ambience or enjoyment of what should be a pleasant, relaxing environment. But clearly I'm in the minority these days...

Newly refurbished . Very clean. Good parking . Brilliant waitress at breakfast . Charming and friendly . Good cooked breakfast . Buffet offering was average . Plain yoghurt please
The self check in is soulless . This is a hotel and as a guest I would like a cheerful personal welcome . The self check in needs human intervention anyway so it’s hardly a cost saver!

Condition of the hotel is nice, looks recently refurbished. Location was good for where we were visiting. Breakfast included was a great standard. Decent sized mugs in the room as well!!! :)
Was all good really. Very minor points were the bathroom was tiny. But it still did the job. TV wasn't a smart TV either. Would've been handy for a family room.

The restoration of the property is well done and we found the staff friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and plenty of choices for breakfast. The location is good and only a 15-20 minute walk to the castle and town centre. Ample parking at the rear of the hotel and extremely pleased with the room we stayed in a suite which was well worth it no complaints at all planning another trip to Cumbria next year and it’s definitely where we’re going to stay to use it as a base to explore further afield
Nothing really I was happy with the property the only thing I think would be detailed description of the car park location initially we drove past the hotel but got there eventually

Lovely staff, great atmosphere, really, really good breakfast and modest services included. A good amount of on-site car parking, friendly staff to welcome you that were pretty efficient. The ability to check in by talking to a person or self-sign check in. Another nice bonus is you didn't strictly need to enter any details to park your car, which I appreciate for convenience. Overall it was a very nice experience and I am looking forward to going back there again.
Access control issues, a guest entered my room as I believe the room ended up getting double booked. The invoice issued was for the wrong days and wrong amount, and needed to be amended. The free Wi-Fi was... Alright. Sometimes it was pretty good and other times it was terrible, but overall it was servicable, aside from a few hours where it was not even possible to look at emails. If you have a 5G SIM with good data, it is a lot more reliable than the Wi-fi offered, and faster too. It would be nice if ethernet was available in the rooms. The advertising of 'really big and nice TVs' feel a bit false as while they are big... They are also 2008 era flatscreens. Big, bulky, not a great picture quality but serviceable.

The staff were excellent. Friendly and all very helpful and willing. The car park was plenty big enough and there was a lovely little sun trap garden out the back. Breakfast was very good and the service again excellent. Location was a bit further out from town than I’d imagined, but there were some good restaurants a short walk away (there was no evening restaurant service available at the time of our visit). The lounge area is spacious and comfortably furnished. The hotel is on the site of the Roman fort Uxeludunum so it’s the only place to stay in Carlisle if you’re walking Hadrians Wall.
The main road is quite busy and the noise from other guests in the corridor and in adjacent rooms can be intrusive . Take some earplugs and you’ll be fine.

Rooms were spotlessly clean and superbly fitted out Breakfast was self service choice was good and plenty both cooked and continental
We booked through booking.com and chose this hotel because it said in the booking that the double room would be on the ground floor unfortunately this wasn't accurate and the room allocated was actually on the third floor with no lift my disabled wife was unable to manage the stairs the staff offered us an alternative room on the ground floor which was a twin room. Being only for 2 nights we made the best of the situation...both rooms were spotlessly clean and very well appointed

Close to required facilities. Excellent evening meal and a hearty and filling breakfast. Staff super friendly and although short staffed on Sunday evening continued to serve our needs without a single complaint or dismissive tone. Well done. For those walking the Hadrians Wall Path and need a bed not far from the trail. I highly recommend you consider this venue. Hotel is built on the old Roman fort at Stanwix. Excellent.
No air conditioning in high temperatures, but a handy fan helped cool us down and in the end was sufficient.

It was spacious, clean and comfortable. Although it was very close to the centre of Carlisle, it was also quiet and had a very private feel to it, probably because of its main entrance being around the back, the front entrance being closed off. Also, you enter the hotel directly from the spacious car park, and the satnav took us straight to the car park. The meals in the evening were excellent and the breakfast was great - informal friendly setting and helpful staff.
Nothing: it was ideal. I would just mention though that there was a family room opposite ours. On the morning following our first night the father of the family staying there made a point of apologizing for any noise that may have disturbed us - and there hadn’t been any! Night two was different though - the father of this different family spent a good deal of time shouting at his children from the corridor into the room. This was not the fault of the hotel at all - but perhaps try to put family rooms away from couples In future- especially if they have booked two rooms.
