The staff were friendly and efficient. We were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room on arrival which was a lovely surprise. We ate in the hotel on the evening and the food was great. Breakfast was hot and plenty of choice, cooked fresh to order rather than a buffet, which was a wel ome change to other hotels we've stayed in.

The only downside was that we stayed in a heatwave and there was no air con. There was a fan in the room but this just recirculated already hot air. There were no parasols in the outside space so we were unable to sit outside as there was no shade until much later in the evening

When we arrived we were unexpectedly upgraded and our room was fantastic! It was spacious, clean with a lovely view of the garden. The hotel was quiet at night and our sleep uninterrupted. They provided a fan in the room given how hot it was when we stayed. The staff were so friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a good evening meal in the bar. There was a good selection of items at breakfast. The hotel is very well positioned for the motorway connections but also to the designer shopping outlet which we had no idea about until we arrived. We were able to walk there from the hotel in under 10 mins which was a bonus. There are also some good walking routes on the hotel’s doorstep.

Outstanding customer service in a delightful hotel, where everybody understands what hospitality means! Our wedding was made perfect by the friendly welcome, lovely attitude and 'can't do enough' approach displayed by everyone. Special mention to Anthony, who just dealt with everything efficiently and with charm, and Summer, who looked after our party so well in the evening following our wedding. Beautiful gardens, large, airy rooms, character bar and dining room, topped off with excellent food, much of it home-made, and a great breakfast

Just a lovely place to stay!

We had a lovely room overlooking the grounds, comfortable bed, good sized en suite with lovely toiletries. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food in evening and at breakfast was of a high standard. After previous reviews we had to try the sticky toffee pudding and we weren’t disappointed

Unfortunately there was a wedding on, wedding party were very disrespectful of both other guests and staff. Drinking on terrace until 2.30am, foul language and very loud. Might be better to make wedding party book whole venue!

Friendliness of the staff, bedroom and wonderful garden

Whilst the kitchen staff produced excellent food, there were issues which I hope it is creative to raise. The evening meal table accommodation was insufficient and the food service slow. Having said that, the way it was dealt with was exceptional. However, if a catering establishment knows the demand, which it would from the number of guests, they should be served timeously. The breakfast was cooked well and service exceptional. However, for a hotel of that quality, the menu was limited/ Having said that, the orders were flexibly dealt with and served quickly and well. These comments are the only ones that prevented the hotel from being exceptional and we would return.

We attended the hotel as a wedding party. Was a lovely day, the beer garden was amazing. Our meal was fantastic. Our room was spacious and clean and bed was comfortable.

Not a negative, but I think the hotel was under staff, and were only 2 staff members all day and night for the wedding.. you could tell the staff felt under pressure trying to serve meals and serve a big wedding party at the bar for drinks. But well done to them both for pulling it off 👏

Beautiful location, beautiful hotel, beautiful room. Fiancee was blown away and extremely happy with the surprise stop off on our way to the Scottish Highlands. Breakfast was fantastic. Bed was extremely comfortable. Sat outside in the courtyard before we left and had a coffee in the morning sun, it was so tranquil and peaceful. Would highly recommend. We requested brochures for a revisit and possibly having our wedding at the hotel.

We revisited Gretna Chase Hotel as part of our little Scottish adventure trip. We got married in Gretna Green 22 years ago and had the Gretna Chase as part of the Wedding Package. We decided to stay here on the way back to Wales to revisit. We had a lovely room, the bed was amazing, so comfy, food was good and the staff were polite. It was a lovely stay.

The lovely welcome you get on arrival. The staff we all so very helpful and do a fantastic job. Walking from the car park into the Reception you go through the Gardens 👏 they were well kept and beautiful, little hidden places to explore all around the Beer Garden and spotless clean and tidy. The bedroom had everything you need for your stay and again very comfortable and clean, in fact from the main entrance into the hotel the full place was spotless.

I definitely didn’t like that Breakfast finished at 9am on a Sunday morning 😢 if you have been working all week it would be nice not to have to hurry for breakfast before 9am. That brings me to check out 10.30 is slightly to early 11,30 would give you some more time to relax because after all you can’t check in until 3pm the day before doesn’t give you a lot of time in the hotel.

Really nice hotel just outside Gretna. It was a perfect stop on our way from the Highlands back to the south. The room was large and comfortable. Loads of car parking spaces. Lovely dinner and breakfast. Staff were very pleasant. It's a lovely building with nicely kept gardens. A few minutes drive to the designer outlet and the Old Blacksmiths and easy access to motorway.
