Rosalind house was a great place to stay, would definitely recommend and would visit again. The room was nicely decorated, clean and spacious. Julie was a lovely host. Very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was great. A very nice spread set out ready for me and then a great cooked breakfast to order. I'd normally stay in anonymous hotels in Carlisle, but this was much better.

The only aspect that could have been improved was the ironing board in the room. It is big enough, but one you rest on a table rather than a traditional one. It did the job but was a little fiddly. But that is nitpicking, the room, house, host and service were all exceptional.

A beautiful 1832 listed building lovingly restored with tastefully modern internal rooms. Julie is a fabulous host and always smiling. We shall definitely book Rosalind House when we are in the area. It's only a short walk into the city and train station. Also, 'Alexandros Greek Restaurant and Deli' is a very short walk across the road. The Greek dishes created by Alex and family are superb! I eat only plant-based foods and there were a lot of vegan options alongside for vegetarians and meat and fish options. What is not to like about the location and welcome at Rosalind House!

Awesome gem in Carlisle. Julie provided fantastic hospitality. The rooms are modern, yet cozy. Comfy bed. Lots of little personal touches such as fresh milk in a glass bottle and yummy home-made cookies. We loved every second of our stay at Rosalind House. Would definitely come back. Great location in walking distance to the city center, the University of Cumbria and the Carlisle Cathedral

Everything was perfect

Fabulous & charming from start to finish, Rosalind House is in a beautiful Grade II listed 1840s terrace. Rooms are gorgeous. Super comfy bed & gorgeous linen. Breakfast was amazing!! Hosts were super helpful and we felt looked after as well as very comfortable. Every convenience incl. USB wall sockets & local guide books. Rosalind House is perfectly located for restaurants, bars, pubs, city centre, Carlisle train & bus stations, and best attractions like the castle, old town hall, and the cathedral (cathedral is magnificent inside and out by the way!). Sportsman was our favourite pub & Halston Hotel had our favourite cocktail bar; classy. Chimes cafe on Castle St for great tea, sandwiches, every good thing, and lovely staff too. the best.

This is a perfect location for exploring Carlisle. It is run by friendly and thoughtful hosts with an excellent breakfast including nice touches like home made savoury scones. The ensuite room was very attractive. The hosts also provided a parking permit which was a real bonus for us. There are nearby restaurants which were varied and excellent. We felt very welcome.

Excellent choice for the city centre only 5 mins walk. We were given parking permit for our short stay. Great room with Comfortable bed. Good shower and bathroom. Brilliant breakfast with homemade scones and cereal choices and feeah fruit and yogurt. Hot breakfast choices too. Hosts were very helpful ans friendly.

Couldn’t fault it. Superbly clean. Comfortable bed with quality bedding. Great WiFi. Excellent shower. Lovely and quiet room. It was a cold night but the room was lovely and warm. Great restaurants in the vicinity; Greek and Italian. Fantastic breakfast. Host was great with nothing too much trouble. We will stay again.

One of the best B&B I have stayed at. Room was very well equipped providing everything you needed for your stay.Room clean comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was fabulous so much choice. Julie and family were very welcoming made you feel and ease.

Rosalind House was the perfect choice to stay in Carlisle. Great location on a quiet street and not far from the centre of town. The cheese and bacon scones were delicious for breakfast along with all of the other delicious food. The homemade cookies left at our door was a wonderful treat. Thanks so much for your hospitality and help. Certainly a place to remember.

Everything I liked.. was amazing ..looked after us and more..room was comfortable and cosy..bed very comfortable..Shower was great too.Breakfast was amazing..fresh flowers on the table butter jam fruit yogurt coffe bread cereal choice of cooked food to order.home made plum jam from their plum tree.was delicious.home made scones were to die for and home made biscuits and milk in the fridge..Really was first class ..well done....x
