Virtually everything was good! The check-in staff were exceptional, taking our luggage without being asked and providing extras like milk, sugar, extra teabags and chocolate drinks and biscuits. Nothing was too much for them. The room was clean and well equipped. We had a downstairs room with a patio, complete with table and chairs. Perfect to chill out on when the sun shone- which it did quite often! The cleaner checked that all was fine with us, offering to change towels if we needed to. She also restocked the tea, biscuits, etc.! Breakfast was served in the lovely dining room and had a lovely selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, cooked breakfast items, toast and similar items, tea and coffees. They also offered freshly made porridge and staff were very helpful.

If I had to find a problem, it would be car parking. We had events to go to, so by the time we got back in the evenings, the main carpark was always full with wedding guests, etc. I therefore had to park in the overflow area which was very rundown. It badly needs upgrading, but only a few of us unfortunates had to use it.

Lovely old building, tasteful decor. Plenty of parking, just off the M6, although you can’t hear it from the hotel. Very busy wedding venue. Huge bed & very comfy, nice shortbread & bottle of water. The staff were all very friendly, reception booked me into the dinning room, but the dinning staff had written the booking in for the wrong evening, but the staff in charge of the seating plan sorted it all out for me. The food was beautiful & very reasonably priced , you could taste the butter in the buttery mash! Breakfast was fine too, help yourself buffet style.

Only a very slight niggle, black mold in the grout in the shower.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming, always attentive. Room was very clean, well presented and comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee etc and quality toiletries. We ate in the restaurant in the evening, food was lovely, well presented and hot. Very reasonable prices. Good choices for breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

Everything was good, but just one criticism. The cooked breakfast choices were excellent but quality was not as good as it has been on previous visits, sausages and haggis were very 'undercooked' . We went for breakfast later as there had been a coach party and we waited till it was quieter, but felt the hot choices could have been hotter.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel, which served as the perfect midway stop between England and Scotland. The location was quiet and relaxing, ideal for a restful break during our journey. The highlight was the beautiful garden, which added a lovely, peaceful atmosphere to the property. Everything was clean and well-kept, making for a comfortable and enjoyable experience overall.

The hotel is a bit old, but overall it was comfortable. One thing to note is that there’s no laundry service available (at least none was mentioned or offered during our stay), so travellers planning a longer trip might want to keep that in mind. Also, the carpet in the room could benefit from a deep cleaning.

Immaculately clean and tidy. Modern fittings. Huge bed. A nice quiet setting within Gretna Green. Love Gretna Green and have an interest in its history … got married in the Old Blacksmiths Shop and as I’m a direct descendent of the Gretna Green Anvil Priest’s: David Lang 1755-1827 (my 5x great grandfather) and Simon Lang 1790-1872 (my 4x great grandfather) … would have been great to have access to more history of this lovely old building.

Toilet windows to room 103 fitted in the bedroom. Have stopped in accommodation previously where the view is very limited. Would prefer to have the option just to close the curtains/blinds and not to have that option taken away and left feeling a little claustrophobic inside an enclosed small space (… although a nice small space 😉).

Bit disappointed with the door that left to next door then having be moved to downstairs but all was dealt with good by Marie manager and Jackie also thanks very much as it worked out better the room. The bath wasn't ad big nor the room but think I'd of struggled more due to disabilities. Breakfast fantastic 1st morning. This ( sun ) was cold and couldn't eat. Food lastnight fantastic 😋 ad was the service to out room and all hot . Brilliant 👏 we shall be coming again and hopefully stay in different room but on the ground floor again with patio. Thank you 😊

Sort the intertwining doors out. They are unexceptable under Amy circumstances especially if non related etc.

It was beautiful inside and outside. The interior of the reception, bar, restaurant areas were very well decorated and stylish. The rooms were very modern, clean and cosy. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. Location was perfect, just a short walk / drive away from the Caledonia Designer Outlet. Very nice touch upon check in with delicious cookies handed to us. Breakfast was really reasonable to add on to our stay at £10 per person and was great value with the selection available.

We stayed on the ground floor and there was a bit of noise from whoever was staying in the room above but it wasn’t anything to fault the hotel for.

Room a little small, we did try to upgrade prior to stay, but nothing available. Nowhere suitable to hang wedding dress and mirror a long way from dressing table, for getting ready/make up. Nit muh room to move around, with our extra wedding outfits. Arrived 15 mins early prior to our early, paid for, check in time. Was told flatly that our room wasn't ready. The receptionist didn't look up anything or check. We were getting married 2 hours later and had just completed a 2 hour drive. I felt this was a little disappointing.

We’ve had many pre covid family weekends at GH but none since the refurb, place looks so much better and modern looking but the old worlde feel still exists

Our only complaint was the breakfast and it’s so hard to cope with so many people turning up during the time span of breakfast serving, however for us juts after 9am plenty food left but it was all lukewarm and cold plates to put it on. Our evening meal the previous night however couldn’t be faulted. As a suggestion they should move the smokers away from the main exit door at the front as when both doors open it blows a gale into the bar area along with the smoke that comes with it.

It was exciting to go to Gretna Green, an iconic location. Not there for a wedding, but a flying visit to family. That said, lots of weddings taking place at the hotel. The sun was shining and everybody was enjoying themselves. The hotel has a large bar area where wedding parties congregate. Very enjoyable to see. Every member of staff I encountered was friendly and helpful (reception/room cleaning/bar staff). The room and bathroom was very clean and tidy, no complaints at all.

Can't think of anything I didn't like about it.
