The atmosphere just put you st ease from the word go. Lovely out of the way place serving great beers and lovely food. The roo we had (bank) was lovely with everything you could need. Great bathroom except for the one thing we found.

Only 2 things. We found shavings in the wash hand basin - obviously missed by the cleaning staff (1/2 point deduction) and the kitchen fan noise which we did mention and was off when we went to bed and didn't come back on again till 0730. It was the last room so had all the bugs but even so it was great.

This is an outstanding place. Quality rooms, quality food and quality staff. It's the little attention to detail that leaves a big impression. It's a real good vibe here and you get the sense that the staff are all part of one big team with strong values. I had a minor issue on arrival which was resolved creatively, generously and professionally by Mia. Lovely quiet little village location too.

Nothing. Best place we stayed on our Hadrian's Wall trail. The owner even gave us an early morning lift back up the hill to rejoin the trail.

the place is lovely decorated. modern but still a country pub feel. room was large, comfy and clean. shower was amazing. the best thing about this place is the staff, friendly and helpful and clearly love working there. met the owner and he was the same. food is amazing and beautiful. so even if you don't stay there definitely go for the food but book a table.

nothing, but just be aware you are staying above a pub so there will be noises till they close.

Stayed at the Sally several times now and it never fails to be a good stay. Excellent food, comfortable rooms, real coffee. EV charger outside, which is convenient.

Breakfast is served from 8am onwards, which is a little later than some places I’ve stayed, and as I had to leave earlier, I missed a full warm breakfast. However, credit to the hosts, a small continental breakfast was left outside my room ready for my early departure so I didn’t go hungry.

Irthington is a quaint village. The evening meal was a high standard, nice selection of local ales. Hotel guide included a walk which we enjoyed. The room was modern and well appointed. Liked Hadrian Hedgehog door stop.

The heating in the room or bathroom was not on throughout visit, not a problem for the room as temperature fine. Would have liked the ability to put the bathroom towel radiator on. Bar shut soon after 10pm.

The room was exceptional! A lovely bed with modern fixtures and fittings. The room also came with a coffee machine and fridge with water. They paid great attention to the small things which really made me feel comfortable. The bar/restaurant food was also good both for dinner and breakfast. A lovely place to stay, would definitely go there again.

I stayed whilst walking Hadrian's wall and it was off the route so took some time to get to.

Brilliant friendly staff and a great location for walking Hadrians wall. They let us check in early and were really accommodating.

We were in a room near the kitchens extractor fan. This wasn’t too much of an issue because it was turned off in the late evening when the kitchen closed but might be an issue for anyone wanting an early night.

We booked a good-sized room which included a modern private ensuite room with all that you could wish for. Always impressed when you have your own coffee machine in the room. Small snacks supplied along with still and sparkling water. The fabulous continental Breakfast was encouraging you to be overindulgent and allowed many divine eating options. Quiet location with off-street parking. We would choose to stay at the Sally again.

Be warned that if you have loads of luggage, you do have one flight of stairs to fight with to get to your room. I am sure the staff will help you if you do need assistance.

We walked Hadrian’s Wall Path and for us this was the perfect hotel to reach for us because it took only less than 30” walked out off the path. This quiet nice small hotel also serves as bar and restaurant that we had both dinner and breakfast. Food were delicious and freshly cooked. We got 2 rooms that both spacious and good size with a nice touched to put stuff beanie animal on bed to use to signal if you need room to be cleaned or as a doorstop. Each room got different animal that was equally cute. Staff were so welcoming and cheerful that made us felt so comfortable here. I recommend this place to anyone who are looking for the place to stay in Irthington.

None.

the breakfast was great. It's a super little pub with decent pub food. The rooms are fine. it's not far from the M6. I enjoyed my Laphroaig whisky albeit the waitresses pronunciation of it as "LaFarage"created some temporary challenges :-)

the carpark was rammed which given we were staying with luggage was not great. Some staff were clearly inexperienced -but very nice with it.
