We found the beds very comfortable. The drinks making/water heater was very effective. The shower area was spacious and modern. The shower was excellent. The location was very good with two small supermarkets very close. On road parking never presented any problems. The great Hadrian's Wall sites and Hexham were just short drives away.

Our main caveats concerned the two pubs nearby that offered the only evening meal possibilities that we could find (other than the excellent fish and chips shop) in Haydon Bridge. On our first night we had an excellent meal at the General Havelock Inn. On the second night we found that lack of kitchen staff at both the General Havelock and the Anchor meant the closure of their dining facilities! It would be most useful if the excellent breakfast room included a microwave and forks (as well as knives and spoons) to cope with such eventualities.

The room was lovely. Clean and comfortable although little on the cold side and no way of adjusting the heating. It had radiators but they were off. It didn't cause any issue. The property owner was very helpful and welcoming. The bed was super comfy and the room had some lovely little touches. Fresh water in a cute little glass bottle with a delightful little stopper. Toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo and lovely body lotion.

Nothing about the property it was lovely! Beautiful little location although very quiet and no-one about. One local pub was open, was rather odd..the chips shop over the bridge saved the evening.

Lovely views and well presented room

Unfortunately the drains. We had to put bleach down them and spray the room with air freshener. Funnily though I spoke to other guests who didn't suffer from this. Also I'd say don't let folk take cooked food into their rooms. A guest took a curry up and it stunk the whole place out from the front door. One other thing was no password for the WiFi. We were OK as we had unlimited data but others may not. The password hadn't been written on the board. Dried stain on duvet.

The room was of a good standard. Clean and well equipped. The host, Susan, was a great support to us and gave the impression that nothing would have been too much trouble if we needed anything. The small breakfast room was well equipped with cereals, toast fruit and yogurts etc and the fridge came in handy. The rooms were close to a bus stop meaning we could do our walks without needing the car. There was plenty of on road free parking.

The accommodation was fine but eating out in Haydon Bridge was limited.

Julia was lovely, couldn't do enough for us. Garage round the back to keep bikes safe. The facilities were everything you could need or expect. The room was modern, clean and airy. Bathroom was small but modern and v clean. Breakfast was as much as you can eat. Cereals, porridge, jams, marmalades, pb, marg, breads, teas and coffee. Even a microwave to cook your evening meal from the co-op or premier shop just round corner if you don't fancy fish and chips from over the bridge.

Nothing.

Apartment was very clean and quiet, bed really comfortable. Railway station was couple of minutes walk away. There was one problem we had with shower spoke to Susan over the phone and problem sorted out in no time at all - Thank you very much.

Not being told about restaurant and bar being closed up before we arrived as it was one of the things we considered when booking and then not being able to get a cooked breakfast. Not being able to meet any staff on premises.

Welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The member of staff who greeted us showed us directly to the room which was a nice touch. Lovely furnishings with a huge and superbly comfortable bed. Shower was amazing with great water pressure. Nice breakfast with good options and an attentive but still relaxed host. Bonus that there is a separate door to come and go from. Next time we will go down to the bar and try the pizza. On street parking but we found a space. There is a wee shop and chemist nearby. Easy travelling distance to Hexham and to Hadrian’s Wall.

Pleasantly decorated spacious and comfortable room with modern en suite, including powerful shower. Good freshly cooked breakfast. Friendly management/staff. The hotel is also has a pleasant bar. The hotel is located in a small settlement near the main A69 route between Newcastle & Carlisle, ideal for exploring the area. Short drive to Roman settlement excavation sites and Hadrian's Wall as well as Hexham, where there are several restaurants and shops.

We booked this hotel because it also had a bistro restaurant, however on arrival we found that the restaurant had been permanently closed! Whilst booking.com notified us that the name of the hotel had changed, it would have been helpful to know in advance that there was also no longer food available. Our room was not serviced during our stay, but maybe our expectations were too high for a small hotel.

Room was a good size. Reasonably clean. Pillows were not comfortable and it could have done with a comfortable chair in the room. It was very hot and the tiny fan they supplied was ineffectual. The bathroom was a joke. So tiny you could hit your head off the sink while sitting on the toilet. The shower was big enough but the shower head was so high up that few women would be tall enough to reach it and the whole bathroom was not clean. Additionally, a ridiculous arrangement of straw on the only small shelf made it unusable. Breakfast was served in the bar which naturally smelled rather strongly of beer which is not the best start to the day for some. However, the breakfast was very good and wholesome and the only staff member we spoke to was lovely. We were travelling for business but took a break to visit Hadrian's wall en route. It was very well located for that.

The bathroom was too small and dirty. I always carry detergent wipes with me which I used to clean the surfaces and the toilet still had paper lying in it. There was signs of mould in the shower and the dark tiles are not a substitute for cleaning. Could have done with better pillows and a comfortable chair in the room. Needs air conditioning or a bigger fan. A little bit noisy before midnight as the Radcliffe room looked onto the main street and the window had to remain open to ventilate. However, window were only single glazed so noise was still obvious even with windows closed. I would not return to this hotel.

A very cold day when we arrived. The staff increased the room heating immediately. The room was beautifully fitted, compact, but very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The only complaint was that the restaurant was not operating when we were there. Understandable, off season, mid week, etc but I would have been happier had I been advised in advance.

Room and service excellent. I understand and sympathize with the difficulties that the hospitality sector faces, however I would like to have been advised that the hotel did not have an operating restaurant at the time of our visit. The web site did not make this clear. In other respects all excellent.
