I liked this place. Old fashioned but charmingly so. The proprietor was also very pleasant. Liked the large bathtub and the small refrigerator in the room. The room was very clean with fresh towels provided.

The mattress sagged a tiny bit, but I am on the heavy side. But it was still comfortable and supportive. Wasn't sure if the side bed light needed a new lightbulb though this wasn't a big deal, and would probably have been sorted had I asked.The place looks a bit "tired" but was very reasonably priced.

What a brilliant stay we’ve just had at The Queen’s. It’s such a cosy place. The staff were brilliant and the locals lovely and friendly. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Lovely comfy beds, gorgeous bedding and pillows. Can’t fault it. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable.

Check-in and check-out were very simple - I didn't need any help from staff, although their details were provided should I have had any issues. The room had everything I needed and was light and airy. The bed was comfier than I expected, the shower was good and the fridge, kettle and microwave were handy. All-round perfect for a self-sufficient visit to a new place.

It could have done with a chair, I ate my breakfast in the morning perched on the end of the bed which was a bit precarious, but that's nitpicking!

Big bright warm room, nice shower. Cereals, yoghurt, orange juice and milk provided in our room was much appreciated too. Having a small shop inside the hotel is great idea. Pet friendly and a good atmosphere in the bar area. Lovely chip shop next to hotel.

Everything was fine

Very homely, felt welcome and Laura was really personable. Love the convenience store at the back of the pub, very useful! Having a kettle, microwave and a fridge in the room, plus fresh milk, cereals and plenty of tea and coffee was great! Homely rooms and lovely shower!

We liked everything about the place!

Very basic old rooms above pub but decent budget choice for us (2 bikers passing through) what needed to work worked, comfortable cotton bedding, clean……and coffee & cereals & fresh milk etc provided. Met our needs nicely thanks

It was fine for the price.

I was welcomed by the Publican and assisted with my luggage. I only required a single room, but was exactly what I expected for a village hotel/accommodation. Comfortable, Had tv and internet, shower/bath was lovely and warm, and was very quiet. Close to Hadrians wall, and not too far from Hexham.

Friendly staff and made welcome. Included in what was happening in the bar that night. Sky tv in the bar. Fridge and microwave in the room. Breakfast cereals, buisuts, plus milk, orange juice, and a yoghurt in the fridge a nice touch.

Convenient location close to start of St Oswald’s Way. Breakfast in room was ideal - it meant that we could leave really early to start our walk. Comfy bed, cotton sheets, nice towels, good shower - excellent value.

Free parking at the back, a bar downstairs after 2.30pm .Bed comfy, shower good and it had a fridge and microwave.

Steep stairs to room . The window's were so old you couldn't open them so a bit warm .
