The breakfast was good, ready at the time I requested. The location was perfect for my needs. I was surprised how large the room was, a corner room with windows on two sides with gorgeous views. The updated bath had a large tub I totally took advantage of and the bed was so comfortable, I had the best night’s sleep I’d had in days. The staff was also especially friendly and helpful. I arrived two hours early and my room was ready to check-in. I had walked 16 miles that day so the whole experience was overwhelming in the best way possible.

I don’t like to nit-pick, but I would have liked more options for breakfast like fruit and yogurt.

Lovely relaxing stay in a quiet, comfortable location. The Inn has a relaxing, traditional vibe in a lovely rural setting, adjacent to the Hadrians Wall walk and very easy to visit all the Roman sites along the wall to the West. The highlights were the Excellent food served, which was of an exceptional standard both in taste and service, as well as the wonderful warmth of the staff, who couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay.

If I had to be super critical I did find the bathroom facilities in the chalet a little bijou, still useable though.

The Robin Hood Inn is a marvelous place to take a break if you're walking Hadrian's Wall or otherwise visiting the area. We had a quiet, comfortable room upstairs from the bar, and it couldn't have been nicer. The Robin Hood in also has cabins in the back (we only saw the outside of those, but heard from other travelers that they were really comfortable). The ambiance and food at the pub was great, and we enjoyed having beer and cider out in the back garden after our long walk of the day. This place was one of our favorites of the trip.

Lovely traditional Inn in a superb location and our welcome was very warm and friendly. Our room was nicely spacious, clean, well appointed and we were particularly impressed with the lack of any external noise. The atmosphere in the bar/dining area was very attractive with a lovely traditional old school feel and the owners and staff were very warm and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. Our evening meal was of a high quality in terms of taste, quantity and presentation so hats off to all concerned including the kitchen staff. We also found the prices to be very reasonable. The location is easy to get to and in an attractive landscape that has the advantage of being very close to a number of sites associated with Hadrian's Wall as well as being on the Hadrian's Wall footpath. For those not on foot it is a very handy distance from the amenities of Newcastle. This was a fairly last minute booking but we think we've found a bit of a gem and will certainly be returning.

We stayed in a twin “shed” in the garden of the pub. The staff were fantastic super helpful and friendly. The food in the pub was fantastic and they even made me a special takeaway breakfast as I was leaving early. The room was perfect for what we needed, clean warm comfortable. It was a little tired in places (mattresses had dips into the middle for example) but exactly where and what we needed at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful, especially when we decided to have a service pick up our bags the next day as a last minute decision that we hadn't discussed with them before. The room was gorgeous and we enjoyed having a bath.

The food was delicious but a bit pricier than we were expecting. Otherwise, everything met our expectations and we understand that cost of ingredients is high at the moment.

Proprietor was very accommodating, flexible and nice. Atmosphere on main floor is wonderful as you'd expect in a tavern built in 1752. Large bedroom with coffeee/tea service. Liked that drinks and food were so accessible by going downstairs. Amazingly good and rare location for trekking Hadrian's path.

Hard to regulate heat in room, control on radiator unclear, so had to balance with open window as in a lot of places. Double bed is actually two singles pushed together, which makes it hard to actually use as a double. Again, a very common situation in my European experience.

Excellent attentive staff greeted us warmly on arrival and provided all the information we required. The attractive bedroom was spacious and warm. We had a lovely dinner in the the comfortable bar area which had an open fire, and which was dressed for Christmas. The bar had a good choice of beers.

Everything was to our liking. And we look forward to returning again, as it would be a great area to explore as the inn is close to Hadrian’s Wall.

Downstairs is the pub and restaurant. The food is very good. The atmosphere much fun and the staff friendly. Beds were comfortable. We were Four senior ladies hiking HAdrian's wall. This was a very convenient place to stay as it's right on the path.

One of the rooms was too tiny- it had twin beds, but no place to hang clothes or put your suitcases. The other room was very large and lovely with a sitting area as well as twin beds. That's the room you want!

EVERYTHING! It was one of the best stays on my walk thanks to the accommodations, food, and especially Louise. Every inn needs a Louise. She made me feel so welcome and was so incredibly kind and uplifting. The cabin was perfect - cozy, comfortable, and with all the amenities (tea, coffee, biscuits) to help you relax. Absolutely can’t wait to stay again!
