easy to find with a warm welcome and very friendly atmosphere. Clearly a lot of thought had gone into the décor and the fittings and furniture. The atmosphere of a historic town-centre pub was preserved while offering modern convenience. Everything was spotless and the room really spacious and comfortable, and a breakfast of more than we could eat! There’s a pretty little outdoor area where you could enjoy a drink on a summer evening- we didn’t stay long enough to take advantage, but it’s a nice feature. The only slight problem with the location is no on-site parking (there’s free parking nearby), and as it’s an old building, the rooms are upstairs- but our hosts helped with the bags.

We arrived very last on Friday evening and were greeted by the gent behind the bar. Very accomodating and gave us a tip for parking nearby. The room we were directed to was at the top of the pub, and had everything we needed. Was beautifully clean and they'd thought of everything! The breakfast was superb - thick bacon, good quality ingredients and cooked to order. Was very glad to have found this little gem and would recommend it to anyone!

A beautiful modern B&B above a lively, cosy, friendly pub, check-in was quick and fuss free via the barman, we were in our room in no time. The room was newly decorated to a very high standard, the bed, linen and pillows were luxurious, the bathroom/shower was spotless, courtesy tea/coffee/snacks and some local bottled beer was provided, that was a lovely touch. The location was perfect for our stay, central to all areas of Hexham, close to train and bus stations. Breakfast was exceptional, quality ingredients, substantial, cooked to perfection. Breakfast staff friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. We would definitely stay there again if travelling in the area.

All recently refurbished and just open to guests when we stayed and the room was lovely. Super king-sized and super comfy bed, large room, and good-sized bathroom, all spotlessly clean. Our room was at the front of the pub and called Firebrick, but absolutely no problem with noise from either outside or the pub downstairs. The staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We had an early start but they were happy to cook breakfast at 7.30 and it was really nice. The central location was great. Overall will definitely stay there again when we visit Hexham next time.

After an initial mix-up with the booking (everyone who was booked through the external site was put in the same room) the room we were eventually was absolutely immaculate and bigger than I'd expected. Comfort-wise we couldn't have asked for any more. The bed was amazing, the bath was a good size, long enough to stretch out and relax in. Breakfast was very tasty and the cooked part of it was very quick to be ready. The owners couldn't have been more apologetic about the initial mix-up (which was no fault of theirs) and they were very warm and welcoming throughout our stay there. Overall it was a great experience.

gorgeous place! room was really clean, well decorated and full of everything that you need including a few extras like a local bottle of beer and coffee and biscuits. the hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was to die for! we felt extremely looked after. the location is perfect for the centre of Hexham and the free parking 5 mins down the road was very accessible.

Fantastic big room and bathroom. Great size large bed. Amazing breakfast, accommodating for dietary needs and best vegetarian sausage my wife had ever had. Staff were so helpful

Not really about the property but late night revellers could be heard from the street. Only slight thing , could of had a mirror above the desk/dressing table to be able use hairdryer.

The pub is on a main street near the centre of Hexham. The rooms have only recently been done and mine was superb. There is plenty of hot water in the shower, free WiFi, the bed was warm and extremely comfortable, the staff were welcming and kind, and the breakfast consisted of more or less whatever you wanted to eat. Even visitors' dogs were catered for. My only caveat was the traffic outside, but that too was not too obtrusive.

There is parking nearby, but not next to the pub.

Very friendly staff and great location. Lovely breakfast in the morning also. Room was very clean with a great shower and a free bottle of beer on arrival from a local brewery which was a nice touch! Would recommend!

Car Parking is a little far away but that is not exactly the fault of the inn due to their very central location. Room was above the pub but noise level was not bad at all. Room was a little small but perfect for a night or two.

A wonderfully warm welcome and generous, home-cooked breakfast. A lovely, friendly pub, where it was great to sit in the evening. I could not hear any noise at all from the pub when I was in my room, which was always peaceful and quiet.

I couldn't fault Victorian Tap at all. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
