Unique room with lovely view and great refreshments. Wi-Fi was very good. Quiet location and excellent restaurant next door. Bus stop very close by with frequent service into city centre and/or shops. Overall location was excellent.

There was very little hot water in our bathroom and had to keep an eye on water level in the shower as it did not run away fast enough and was worried it might overflow. The double bed, although lovely, the end board proved a bruising hazard to shins on a few occasions. Had a problem with the kettle as the lid would not close or stay closed.

Everything! I'm a retuning client and love to stay Hedgefield, it is private and homely and such a wonderful and intriguing place to stay. The grounds are beautiful, the house is beautiful and the room I always stay in is superb. I always choose the large 4 poster bedroom, it has lots of space room relax and work a dressing room large bathroom woth hot tub... It's a luxury as a busy business woman an absolute pleasure to stay. Staff are fabulous very attentive the restaurant just a couple of minutes walk away serves breakfast and great meals. The grounds and house is very secure too which is very important to me.

Everything was perfect.

Room was lovely, four poster bed and huge bath a real treat. Beautiful room decor. Shower fantastic. Little dressing room was a very sweet addition and a fantastic TV. Bottled water in room a nice touch. Contact from host pretty much immediate and very pleasant.

Some of the room was a bit dusty but to be expected in summer, the towels were not of great quality, could be larger and fluffier. Perhaps a fridge in the room and a bit more upmarket tea/coffee options.

This is a well-maintained old mansion with rooms. We saw the host briefly when we checked in and after that we had a quiet room to ourselves. It had a nice sitting area in the room. The bathroom was down the hall. We had it to ourselves but it could be shared depending on how many guests they have. The Hedgefield House has a long and interesting history. I thought that it was a comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation. We had dinner at a really nice restaurant next door.

A lovely warm welcome from Anthony and David. Super hosts. Had a lovely, large, well decorated room overlooking the rear garden. Bed was comfortable. Had a great nights sleep. Good supply of teas, coffees and milk. Shower was refreshing. Had a lovely walk around the grounds the next morning. Gorgeous setting away from the hussle and bustle but close enough to amenities.

I'm a local. Our visit was in June, which is usually good weather and no heating needed. Sadly we were there when it was raining and chilly and the heating had already been turned off for summer. The windows were open when we arrived as the bathroom had been getting a fresh lick of paint so the room was extra cool.

Lovely host 👌. The taxi dropped me off at the wrong place, and the host was on the phone with me until I got there, and it was quite late after work. Very caring and made sure I was safe. Amazing scenery, the path from the gate to the house is out of this world, a gem of a find. Green forest and autumn leaves and you open the door spotless annexe, lovely smells. I can't fault the place, it's very clean. 10/10

I wouldn't say "didn't like". I take a lot of work home and would have loved a desk to work on.

Everything was amazing. I'd stay there anytime and highly recommend Hedgefield House to anyone. I also would like to personally thank the Owner for everything, also thank you for the very kind of the lovely Truffles.

Mattress was to hard for my back, as I suffer with siatica. The Owner phoned me the day before and stated there would be no hot running water for shower/bath. So very kindly upgraded me to an en-suite. But overall that didn't damper my visit

Beautiful location, very friendly staff, spacious and stylish room, crisp clean sheets and comfortable bed.

It's unavoidable but there is some noise from the nearby road but this is partly masked by the trees. It would be good if some breakfast were on offer, even if it were only a basket of fruit and yogurt left outside the room.

Outstanding ! My room had a 4 poster bed and huge bathroom. Clean , comfortable and had everything I needed for a great nights rest . There is a restaurant literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel for both breakfast & dinner . Plenty of parking . Location great for the airport and this absolute gem will be my first choice everytime whenever I’m staying in this vicinity

Nothing - everything was great

Private and quiet secluded location away from main road, large relaxing gardens, close to Michelangelo's restaurant for early breakfast , before our last day walking the Hadrian's path walk. Good size comfortable rooms. David the owner was friendly and helpful.

All in all very good, however some things are looking tired and in need of some updating, however this did not detract from our overnight stay
