We stayed in The Wayside Cottage run by the Burnside. A lovely quaint little cottage. Functional and quirky shaped kitchen. Pleasant living room which besides the usual sofa and table, also came with a rocking chair! The bedroom was spacious and also a little quirky. And most importantly, the bed was very comfortable. Other than a door to the bathroom and walk in changing area, it was all open plan. It was also set in a very picturesque area. We paid extra to have breakfast each day and that was well worth the money. The fruit salads, cereals and full English cooked breakfast really set us up for the day. And Jemma, the host, was very down to earth and helped us with some of our planning for the days.

Other than there being no power shower, the bathroom was perfectly adequate for our needs.

Jenna and Martin were so attentive towards us and other guests. Breakfasts were remarkable and 'banter' about touring options were invaluable. We had a chance to wander about a little in the grounds which was so relaxing. A short walk to the local pubs.... always the best and safest option. A great stepping off point to tourist destinations ... by car...and delightfully quiet afterwards. Thank you so much!

If you're looking for countryside peace and quiet, look no further. The surroundings are spectacular, and the tiny studio had everything I could need during my stay with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast, served from 7 to 9, was excellent, freshly served with locally produced ingredients. The host was lovely and very helpful. Loved the sound of the birds and crickets.

Not a negative, but a few things to bear in mind. There's bad or no phone signal, so if you use SatNav to arrive, you may need to download the map first. If you are a light sleeper, and need complete darkness, you may want to carry with you a sleeping mask as blinds do not completely black out.

This is a lovely traditional cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and there were lovely big soft towels. The kitchen was very well equipped and the WiFi worked well. We were cycling during the day so it was lovely to come back to a warm cozy cottage. The pub for food is across the road and there's a bar selling pizza very nearby.

Wayside cottage was absolutely lovely. It was very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The location was ideal, and our host, Jenna, was helpful, charming, and thoughtful, the perfect host! It felt like a home from home... but better! We would thoroughly recommend a relaxing stay at this venue in the Pennines 🙂

The lack of WiFi was the only snag as we do like to plan our next days activities by looking them up on a website for planning our journey and the opening times, etc. Especially in an unfamiliar area

We stayed in a wonderful holiday cottage, which looked like it was renovated from an old stable of some sort. The Holiday cottage for two (twin beds) was absolutely perfect. It was fully equipped, under floor heating (lovely for when we went during the winter month of February) it was warm and very comfortable. Jenna was super friendly and very accommodating and thoughtful with everything, from ringing us up to check how our journey was to the holiday cottage from London, to providing us with whatever we needed. Breakfast isn’t to be missed out. It was the best thing to set us up for when we stayed up to go to a friend’s wedding at Healy Barn.

The only bad thing is that there is no signal for those on O2 network (sorry I can’t comment for other network providers). However! There is working WiFi in the holiday cottage and a working TV with plenty of channels to choose from.

We had a lovely 2 day stay here, the location was great, lovely and quiet with nice outdoor spaces. The hosts have it just right, very helpful, friendly and considerate I thank them for making us and our 2 dogs feel welcomed and making us a great breakfast each morning in the conservatory. The chalet was clean cosy and comfortable with all we needed at hand ( a few fun old fashioned games to use and great local information) we all slept well and had everything we needed at hand

Jenna was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for me. Very helpful also with places to visit. Breakfast was great she was especially helpful re gf food, even giving me the left over bread to bring home. It was all so nice I stayed a night longer than originally planned.

Nothing.

Good home cooked breakfast, made with local produce. Jenna is an excellent host, always ready to advise places to go, places to eat. Made us feel welcomed and relaxed

Couldn't fault the venue in any way

We went for my partners birthday and I requested a little happy birthday note in the room. The owner left a lovely card and a delicious home made cake which was an amazing touch, thank you. We also left a shirt in the room which the owner happily posted back to us very swiftly. Very helpful and lovely to have breakfast included. Thanks for our stay.
