The cleaning staff and manager were lovely people. The hotel itself is not around anything but has excellent links; there were bus connections to the city centre, and the metrocentre was close enough that we could just walk. The hotel has a cute ship theme, the place is like an affordable hidden gem.

I think we were situated over the boiler room, which made the room a bit hot once or twice, but I stayed in the middle of summer so this probably wouldn't be an issue any other time.

The room was very comfortable, equipped with everything you'd need and very tidy. Location wise, it's a 5 minute drive to the Metro Centre etc which was ideal. Would definitely recommend.

Only thing, and it's purely personal preference, was I found the room a bit too warm when I get there but other than that, no issues at all.

Quiet location. Close to main road for bus links. Room big and spacious.

Mixer tap for shower and you couldn't adjust the angle nor could I get a set temperature. That said, there was no frosting or curtain on the window so once you were stood in the bath you'd be visible to the world so I didn't bother clearly

The hotel was very clean and comfortable even though they are going through refurbishment at present. We needed to extend our stay by another day and this was agreed over the phone and then settled the following day.

The outside makes it look like the hotel is not in use but this is due to the ongoing refurbishment

They paid special attention to my special request that no other hotel has even acknowledged! This made the day of my girlfriend who is a nervous person! staff were super friendly and the gentleman is a credit to the company that welcomed us!

Only down side was the location, next to a slightly busy main road but can’t be helped!

Value for money no nonsense clean rooms and friendly staff it's decorated from Salvaged Ships it's really quite Quirky if your like me and like old stuff this is an amazing place it's old but clean and nice its all adds to the caricature I was really surprised when i walked in theres nothing on the outside which suggests you'll be sleeping in a ships cabin If you visiting the beamish museum this is a cheap place to stay and adds to the fantastic day at the beamish museum

Stayed for the Great North Run and it was excellent value for money compared to other hotels in the area. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. Room was big enough, clean and functional

Nice and quiet, love the room, so came back week later for the saturday night on our night off work. Home from home feeling, no hassle at all. Great stuff !!

it was amazingly cozy and felt like home away from home. me and my husband enjoyed our stay. if we come back next year we will definitely stay for few nights.

it’s quite far from the city centre and the property didn’t have food facilities which was a negative factor.
