my partner and stayed at the OYO for Friday until Sunday and slept for two nights. Our hostess went out of her way to make us feel homely and couldn't do enough to help us. Our room was clean and had a private bathroom./toilet. There were tea and coffee making facilities a TV and a fridge. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well. The hotel was two minutes walk from the local shop for snacks etc and it was not far from the metro centre. We will stay here again, on our next trip to Newcastle. For a budget hotel it was a lovely place to stay.

I originally booked the OYO hotel because it was advertised as having a restaurant. And because it was my partners birthday on the Friday, we were going to have a meal in the Hotel on Friday night, but on arrival we were told that it was room only. This was only a slight inconvenience because we went to Zizzi at the metro centre. As for breakfast, we went to Toby Carvery at the metro centre for an eat all you can breakfast for £8 and a bottomless cup of tea for £2.50, which was a great way to start the day.

Great location to shops and food locations. 2 min walk to a corner shop and a really good takeaway. 10 min walk to the Metrocentre which has everything you could ever need. Clean rooms, easy access to shared bathrooms. All the staff are really helpful especially Vicki who works the morning shift who sorted me out by answering all my questions and even opened the bar early for me!

Because its part of the OYO group sometimes when you ring you get put through to a main office but you can just ask them that you want to speak to the hotel directly.

Friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. The location was great - we walked both into the city centre (1 hour walk) and the metro centre (20 minutes) from the hotel. The facilities were a little tired and dated but the room was clean, the bed comfy and the shower and bath were great.

The building could do with being updated and decorated. The floors creaked very badly. The noise from the road was quite bad but this wasn't helped by us leaving the windows open at night due to the heat. The room shook each time a lorry passed but you soon got used to this.

The rooms are in a traditional pub, although you don't hear anything in the rooms. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfy, and the bathroom had both a bath and a shower, the heating was super warm. It also had a desk and chair so I could work. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Free parking in a secure area next to the pub. If you are looking for something simple and value for money, then I very much recommend it. I'd certainly stay here again.

Nestled in a far quiet corner of Gateshead They give room girls names not just numbers which I found very unique Staff attentive and helpful Can get bus to Newcastle which was helpful next to it loads of time availability

Tv was sticking out the wall Maybe recommend a fan for the room as it was boiling hot

We liked Gemma as she was so comfortable. The staff were all lovely. Big shout out to Kash. There is a bar in the hotel with pool tables and you can play darts. We decided to booked another night as it was such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Cheap and cheerful stay with easy access to the town centre, about 10 minutes in an Uber (£10).

ALL STAFF AT THE HOTEL WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL SPECIALLY MR SHAH AND ALSO MISS VICTORIA BROWN HAS ALWAYS HAVE A SMILING FACE WITH A WELCOMING GESTURE.

The location is bit far but easy to connect with Bus but you have to check the schedule of bus timings then exit the hotel the bus stand is nearby so not that much problem.

Very friendly and welcoming. Nice bar and games room. Comfortable and clean bedroom with ensuite shower and WC. Lovely half hour walk from Newcastle city centre along River Tyne foot and cycle path. Good location in Dunston, with great local pub, 'The Tudor Rose" and takeaway restaurants in walking distance.

Great spot, close to city and Metrocenter. Staff are brilliant. Cheap pint in the bar. Cheap rooms, cleaned daily with change of towels and stock up of toilet rolls, towels, tea, coffee etc.

Maybe a bit noisy for some people if they are early sleepers. Didn't bother me.

A proper old school place to stay. There's nothing over pretentious with this place. Vicky and her staff made us feel so welcome and on day 2 made it feel that we were old friends on a revisit.

Unfortunately the kitchen was closed during our stay but it didn't stop us enjoying it.
