Our room was lovely and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was as expected food wise. There were lots of lounging areas, all very comfortable with pleasant surroundings and beautiful views. The evening bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Room service good. Loved the swimming pool etc. Plenty of parking.

Our first evening meal was not very enjoyable and rather expensive for what we had plus it was too noisy. The service was very slow and the staff seemed overwhelmed so we didn't eat there again. Breakfast choice was good enough but the staff did not top things up fast enough, we often had to wait for more glasses, bacon, bread etc and tables were not cleared, again the staff seemed overwhelmed.

After a stressful start to our trip, we finally arrived at Slaley Hall late and Marcus on reception went above and beyond to give us the best experience possible. All the staff were extremely friendly and professional, the Spa facilities were exceptional and there is nothing negative I can say about our stay. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the whole Hotel and grounds are immaculately maintained. Breakfast was amazing with pretty much everything you could want with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We would 100% recommend this Hotel and will definitely be booking another trip there soon. Many thanks to all the hard working staff especially Marcus who made this a memorable stay.

Struggling to find something to be honest. Beer prices a little high but to be expected I feel.

The grounds were lovely, lots of walking routes to explore, big bedroom, fridge in room. Beds were large and comfortable. Air conditioned room so kept nice and cool. The staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast had a good choice of hot foods plus pastries, cereals, toast, yoghurts, fruit, plus a gluten free foods area. There were a couple of snug type rooms in the hotel which I enjoyed taking my book to and having a quiet read 📚 kids enjoyed the pool and slide - there are designated child swimming times and this seems to work well in keeping everyone happy

Changing room in swimming pool was on the small side (only 1 private changing cubicle) and felt a bit cramped in the main changing area when there was more than 2 or 3 people changing.

The location, the staff, the room & the facilities

The breakfast was a bit disappointing & the service a bit disorganised. Only fried eggs available, and these were extremely tough after being under heat lamps. There were options to order poached or scrambled eggs separately, but these took a long time to arrive. The staff were lovely, but it did take some time to replenish breakfast items etc.

Cleanliness and very friendly staff. Spacious room with mini fridge and really comfy beds with good quality bedding everything was immaculate. The pool was clean and well maintained but the water was a little bit chilly. The breakfast was fantastic, a good choice of food but lacking pancakes and a reasonable selection of fruit.

The meals are very over priced. Bar meal standard for restaurant price . Definitely need to reduce the food price in the claret jug as this is not good value. £19.50 for a tasteless pizza is a disgrace. The food let's this hotel down and unfortunately as it is situated out of a town you have to eat in if you want to enjoy a drink with your evening meal.

Beautiful hotel. Breakfast was lovely. The swimming pool was perfect. Loads of seating areas near the bar. We were family of six and most evenings we all relaxed together on sofas in one of the many lounge areas. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable.

We only tried the evening meal once. Unfortunately, the food wasn't anything to write home about. Service was slow, and meals were very average. We avoided the restaurant after the first night. It's a real shame that the food didn't meet the high standards of the rest of the hotel.

We had a lovely stay, food was really nice and I really think they have a fab breakfast selection. I love the fact dogs can stay for free, we were upgraded too as it was my husbands birthday and the chocolates were a lovely touch.

Could do with more staff at Reception very hard to get through to them on the phone

A delightful setting. Plenty of car parking spaces. A comfortable twin bedded room over looking the entrance to the hotel. A fast and efficient service at breakfast, with a good choice of hot and cold foods and beverages.

The. Spa facilities were tired. Ladies changing room has only one private changing room. Only one toilet was working. At 5.00 there were used towels overflowing and tissue paper on the floor. Two out of four showers in working . Always hot water in the shower despite turning temperature down. The shower gel /shampoo was available but dispenser not working. A great Roman hot room….. but no cold showers or plunge pool.

Beautiful hotel in very picturesque surroundings. Very comfortable and clean room which had lots of room and a big bathroom which had a bath and a shower. There are some nice walks around the golf courses which are really beautiful. The breakfast was good with a very varied selection of hot buffet food along with toast, yogurts, pastries and hot and cold drinks etc The one thing that really made our visit was the dessert! The Biscoff cheesecake was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten and the chocolate fondant was excellent. Next time I would skip the main course and just have two desserts.

The menus in the bars and restaurant were the same basic pub food and expensive for the captive audience. The evening menu in the restaurant was the same basic pub food (burgers, fish and chips, pie). It took 30 minutes until they took our food order and the burger I had was dry and not very tasty. The people next to us complained about the slow service and food in the restaurant.

Swimming pool was fantastic as we travelled with 2 children kept them entertained. Loved the layout of hotel

Communication between staff and customers. We reserved the claret jug for tea as we had 2 children with us and there is a games room at back of restaurant. Our reservation was cancelled with no explanation and reception staff re booked us, which was fine until we turned up for tea to be told it was cancelled again due to too many golfers in restaurant . I explained we have pre booked this weeks in advance and we wanted to eat there as it has games room to entertain kids and better menu for them. We were told to go to main restaurant where the menu wasn’t really ideal for one of the children as they are a bit fussy and told we couldn’t use games room!
