Peaceful location, lovely welcoming accomodating hosts. We really apprecited the cuppa when we got there, just what was needed after our drive. Beautiful home, breakfast was simple (simple is good) full english/scottish but really good and hosts were quite happy for us to choose from the different ingredients they had. Also had a choice of fruit, yoghurt, cereal. A very homely feel. Very clean and tidy,

If being ultra picky, the spring mattress was a little thin for my liking, but thats just my personal preference coming from being a side sleeper and i normally sleep on memory foam mattress. TV in the bedroom would be at an awkward viewing angle if watching from the far side of the bed...if you're the type who watches tv when going for a break.

This was a true Bed and Breakfast, where the hosts greet you in their own home, trust you to care for their beautiful furnishings, and feed you a hot, delicious breakfast that you custom order the night before. The room had big windows looking out on a huge lawn and trees. We were welcomed in the evening with scones with butter, jam, and cream and a French press of decaf coffee that we requested. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. They went above and beyond to give us a lovely stay with enough attention but also enough privacy. Highly recommend!

The hosts were really friendly and hospitable. Accommodation was large and very comfortable. Beautiful views to wake up to. Lovely grounds that we could explore. Breakfast was exceptional and large! We were given a tick list of what we'd like and it came in abundance! All delicious, an excellent start to our day! We were given some great tips of places to visit also. Highly recommend!

Our neighbours were a little noisy but there is nothing the hosts could have done about that. They didn't trouble us too much.

The lady owner greeted us with freshly made coffee and two huge slices of homemade cake! You are free to walk around their massive garden areas along the trails, and there's a super view across the loch. The shower pressure was the best we've had during our week away. The breakfast next day was VERY plentiful. All in all the owners went above and beyond what our expectations were. Thankyou.

Without question, Powdermills is a fabulous B&B. But it's a shame that there is nowhere to eat evening meal unless travelling back to Inveraray. This wouldn't put us off staying there again though.

The very warm welcome with a delicious afternoon tea on arrival was delightful. Our hosts provided us with crockery, glasses etc for our supper which we had Brough with us as we didn’t wish to drive back to the village for dinner. The menu for breakfast options was extensive and really delicious. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the hearing came on at night even though it was summer though a little cool and rainy during our one night stay.

Everything was excellent

We loved everything. Sue and John were the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. When we arrived, they made us a pot of tea together with some homemade cakes. There's a lovely seating area for guests with plenty of tea/coffee provided to make a drink. Sue even provides afternoon snacks/cake. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely view across the garden. Breakfast was substantial. John cooked an amazing breakfast with several choices that set us up for the day. This is such a lovely B&B, and we will definitely stay again when we next come up to Scotland.

There was nothing to dislike

The hosts, Johnny and Sue were really friendly and helpful. We visited in late August. Breakfast was exceptional. Our room was clean, comfortable. The grounds made the stay very memorable. we went for a walk in the afternoon, and one their dogs decided he would like to come with us. Johnny's detailed instructions to get there were spot on. Sue - thank you for the recommendations of Scottish singers (that I liked at breakfast). I play them on the bus on the way to work. Great memories. We are recommending a stay to friends.

We only stayed one night!

We had never been to this part of Scotland before and simply chose Powdermills B&B as a place to explore the area. It was one of our best decisions ever. Set in an area of scenic beauty, it is a beauty in itself. Located 8 miles past Inverary near the village of Furness it is ideally located to explore Loch Fyne, Inverary and parts much further afield. As you approach the outskirts of Furness watch out for the 2 white cannon signs either side of the road pointing to the accommodation which will be to your right. It is set back from the main road through gates and along a short driveway. There are plenty of spaces for parking. A warm friendly welcome is guaranteed with nice snacks and a drink for the weary traveller. The property is modern in build, spacious and light throughout. Our room was likewise with ensuite and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is served in the main living area off the kitchen. There was a huge array of food suitable for any diet and delicious. The proprietors are friendly and available for advice on the local area/eating places etc. They maintain a small forest and grounds (sorry forgot how many acres) which is the reason for the property exceeding our expectations. We took time to explore the grounds with most pathways being easy to walk and only c15 mins and were rewarded with a great view of Loch Fyne. If you have time I would definitely recommend you do the same. It is ideally located 8 miles (c13 mins) from Inveraray going north or 3 miles (c5mins) from Crarae Gardens to the south. We visited the gardens on our way in (3 hours) and they are well worth a view. We also visited Inveraray and the Castle, home to the Duke of Argyll. There are plenty of eating establishments in Inveraray, we ate at the George Hotel and Inveraray Inn and would recommend both. Also visit the Harbour Gallery, good prices/amazing art.

Remember to pack your insect repellant for pesky midges. It didn't spoil our visit in anyway and is just a personal observation.

What an amazing place! The owners are so lovely. Pur room was fabulous! The weather was great, so we were able to walk through the gardens taking in the ruins of the old buildings that were formally gunpowder Mills. The historical aspect is fantastic. We enjoyed our walk accompanied by the owners dog. Who is thee most delightful Boxer. The breakfast is like none I have ever seen. Incredible! I will definitely return here. This place is a true hidden gem.

Very warm welcome from Sue and Johnny despite my unexpectedly late arrival. My room was beautiful, spacious - warm and comfortable with a lovely view to Loch Fyne through the French doors. Interesting walks around the grounds for myself and my dog. Excellent, hearty breakfast every morning and a very good base for visiting lots of attractions within an hour or so's drive. Would recommend highly.
