What a lovely little hotel. Simple but comfy room, very clean, super bed. The bar was busy when I arrived with locals as well as visitors (always a good sign). My room was over the bar but it went quiet at about 10 pm and I had a very restful night. Breakfast was great - generous portions, cherry staff. My overnight stay was very reasonably priced and I will definitely stay at the Stork next time I'm in the area. And I was also very grateful to the staff when I booked in - I came on a motorbike but had left my locks and alarms at home. They went out of their way to find me a spot to park it where it was out of sight from the road and not too much in their way behind the kitchen. The Stork is what a country inn and pub should be!

Fantastic stay at The Stork whilst dropping our daughter to Uni. Warm welcome from all the staff at check in, dinner and breakfast. Room was very clean, comfy bed and bedding. Appreciated the good fan for us hot sleepers! Great powerful shower with lovely products. Coffee machine is a very welcome addition. Breakfast was very good quality(we had the full English) with continental offerings as well. Exceptional value for money, we will definitely be returning. Having stayed at lots of different places around Lancaster this is by far the best. Great location, easy free parking.

A wonderful location, greeted by fantastic, friendly and helpful staff. All staff were very good. The hotel is very clean, the rooms spotless. The evening meal was very nice, Ribeye steak, lasagne just wonderful. We really enjoyed sitting outside of this property to relax, they also had a rear garden with seating.

The room was so hot, it was a hot day, but it held the heat way into the early hours. They provided a dyson fan which did help. These fans don't seem as powerful as pedestal fans (I've used them for decades) although dyson are expensive. The breakfast listed named produce, but the bacon was thin and small, the sausage had little taste and not the best texture. So for me, not the best breakfast compared to a lot we have.. (Note, there are other options)

Lovely contemporary country decor. Helpful and friendly staff and good food. I liked the menu wine paring ideas. The Malbec certainly complements the ribeye steak! Breakfast is served from 7.30 am. As a business traveler I’m on site by then. I was given an excellent continental breakfast the night before and kept the milk cold in a flask in the fridge in my room.

I left before 7.30 am via the metal stairs fire escape. The only available route. Thankfully it was dry. I wouldn’t have liked negotiating the stairs with a suitcase had it been raining.

This is a magnificent inn in a very pleasant setting. I had an unbelievable friendly welcome and was taken up to my room with explanations about emergency evacuation given on the way. The room was warm and extremely comfortable with everything you could want and more. There were excellent ales in the bar and a superb menu - I enjoyed a splendid dinner! In the morning I opted for the full English breakfast and this was without a doubt one of the largest breakfasts I have ever eaten! It kept me going for the whole day! I really enjoyed my stay here and am in no doubt that I shall be using this inn regularly in the future.

The Stork was in a very convenient place for our visit to the area. The Inn was clean and the staff friendly and efficient. Food was acceptable.

Our room was sparsely furnished. As we were away for more that an week and had walking gear, in addition to normal clothes, storage was, frankly, inadequate. There was only a clothes rail, with very limited accommodation for jumpers etc. The room lacked was a chest of drawers, which would have made a big difference. Also, although the room was quite spacious, there was only one chair - and that was a dining-type one. One, or even two "easier" chairs would have been very welcome.

The breakfast was great, a good selection & well cooked, the room was extremely comfortable, and the meal we had on the evening of our stay was faultless -- so was the draught Hobgoblin Gold at the bar! We would have no hesitation in recommending the Stork to anyone: We also decided we would like to come again, as we are retired, but for day trips leave the car at Lancaster Station and get on the train. WHY NOT? with a railcard........

Having to go the following morning -- But, God willing, we will be back!

The Stork was AMAZING! We booked 2 rooms and they were exactly as they look in the pictures. I should also add that the rooms were really clean and the beds/bedding was top notch. The customer service was great and the breakfast was fantastic! We would never stop anywhere else now when we travel to scotland! Amazing stay - highly recommended and we will definitely be back!!!

Dogs are VERY welcome and there is a little bed set up in the room and food if you need it. However, it would have been good to be aware there is a £20 charge for pets :)

Nicely presented newly renovated hotel and pub with a great atmosphere and very comfortable rooms. Nice sized bed and lovely bathroom fittings made for a very restful stay. The pub has a really good atmosphere with locals coming in for drinks and eating mixed with those staying. Particualrly liked the detail of providing traditional board games such as dominos. Good selectiomf local real ales very well kept and served. Great location and some good walks directly from the front door. All in all would very happily stay here again

Not really a big issue but although the food was nice enough it was a bit ' pub chain food' formulaic and given its location and style of place it's a pity they don't / didnt seem to make more use of local produce/ seafood etc. Still a great place to stay all the same!
