It was lovely and relaxing, that staff were great. The bed was super comfortable and the room was really pleasant. We loved the bathroom with the walk in shower and large tub! We also loved the wooden beams that featured in the room and bathroom. A huge bonus was the fan that was provided - you’ll be surprised how little amount of places provide these!! It had everything we needed for our night. The breakfast was excellent and overall the stay was fantastic value for money - would definitely recommend and we’ll be staying again!

The only things I can think that would improve it (and it’s definitely not criticism as the room and our stay was great) - couple of towelled robes would be great and plug sockets next to the bed as I could charge my phone or watch next to the bed but wanted me phone close as it was the first night we were leaving our little girl. There was also some plastic covers that had been put over old holes where light fittings were which made the wall look a bit ugly however it didn’t impact the stay at all!

This was our second visit to the Fleece Inn. It's in a great location and makes a great stop for us when we travel up to Scotland. It's close enough to the main road, but is in a quiet location. Rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. Huge bathroom! My husband loved the fish platter the last time we visited, and had it again this time. Staff friendly.

The first time we stayed, it was in a room on the first floor, which was perfect. This time, we were on the ground floor, looking out onto the parking lot, with the chargers for electric cars right outside our bedroom. It was a warm night and the room was hot but we couldn't open the window. Also, I don't often complain about food, but I had a steak that was very disappointing. The rest of my meal was great, though.

Great rustic rooms, really friendly and comfortable place. The staff were really great. The pub was busy when we arrived but one staff member made it clear they saw and would prioritise our check-in. A waiter was really friendly and made our stop-off stay extra special at the start of our honeymoon. Thank you. There's a handy mini-newsagents as part of the shop, good for essentials for the onward journey.

Car park was full when the pub is busy, so we had to figure out where it was possible to park. Otherwise, I think we haf no complaints.

Staff were warm and welcoming, and the interior design of the inn was exceptional. We loved the pictures on the wall. The room was very clean and fresh and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. Dinner was excellent and the staff went the extra mile and very kindly booked a table for us ahead of our arrival. Breakfast was excellent! All in all, a really lovely overnight stay for us to recharge our batteries for our onward journey back home. Thank you!

My wish would have been to have an iron and ironing board in the bedroom.

Such a lovely place , fab decor , very spacious room and bathroom , don’t to a very high standard . The staff were all super friendly and the breakfast options were fab and cooked food was cooked lovely and well presented .

It was a red hot day and hard to cool the room down , it had air con but we didn’t see the switch till the 2nd day as it was behind a chair but couldn’t work it as it was pre set 🙈, the shower was amazing but could have done with a squeegee for the floor, minor detail !!

Fantastic room very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and breakfast, couldn’t fault it. I forgot to pick up my sapphire earrings from the bedside table when we left the following morning and didn’t miss them until the next day. The cleaning staff had found them and they were very kindly posted on to me. I was very grateful to have them back. Wouldn’t hesitate to book the Fleece again.

The property was clean, good sized bedrooms, good beer garden, easy parking. Lots of money spent on refurb. The wine and food is of excellent quality. The service is excellent. Atmosphere was good.

There is not much around, we tried to have a drink in near bars but they were all shut. The back bar room felt a little sterile, would be much more welcoming with a dark green colour to make it feel cosy (just my opinion) others may love it.

Ideally placed off the M6. This is a delightful inn, clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and well-supplied. The member of staff on hand on a quiet Monday night brought me a prepared cheese board for dinner (as the kitchen was closed), carried my case upstairs and was friendly and polite the whole time. Delicious food. I would love to come stay again.

Would have loved a non caffeine tea option in the room.

Lovely friendly staff. Food excellent in the pub and could not fault the breakfast which was amazing. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Also very dog friendly which was fabulous and could beget a newspaper in the mornings.

Bed could have been a little bigger in size & ours was a little too soft but that’s personal choice I am guessing as some people may prefer it that way.

Beautifully appointed room - warm and with a huge bathroom and large bed . Superior Room 3 . As this was a local Pub/Inn naturally staff attention was more focused on the Pub and Retaurant clientele but they helped us with our rather large and heavy bag and our friends who live close by knew most of the locals there so we were able to feel at home. Dinner was quite good in the Restaurant and breakfast was excellent . Outdoor back garden also super - there was an alcove with an unlit fire to sit outside even when raining . Would definetely stay here again, Countryside around the area is beautiful.
