Brilliant stay and perfect for the whole family ranging from Grandma to toddler.Disabled facilities excellent both in the Golden Ball Pub and the Chalets. Absolutely beautiful setting and view. The staff in the Golden Ball pub/hotel accommodated us for meals and local taxi /transport. Even advice about the tide times. The chalets were clean and comfortable. Below is a review written by Sophia (8) on ‘what was best’: The view (Katie ,31) The park and the orange juice (Amelia ,2.5) The park and football pitch (Alexander,8) The very welcoming and well stocked pub (Gordon ,45) Very accommodating for all the family (Helen,41) Great disabled facilities and very friendly staff (Elaine,71) Nice and quiet- loved the location (Chris ,40) The decoration of the pub restaurant and the view (Sophia,11) ‘Would we recommend the Golden Ball’? Yes! Everyone agreed we would recommend to friends and family in Yorkshire and Glasgow. Thank you to the Golden Ball and Snatchems team !
Nothing. Only issue was no WiFi in the chalets but the golden ball pub provided nearby and 5G everywhere.

The cottage was clean and airy
Noisy neighbours at cottage 4 who had a very loud party from midnight till almost 3am, showing total disregard for the neighbours and the policy quiet time thankfully they were only their for that night. No plug for the wash basin and the safety light positioned in the sleeping area made it hard to sleep as was very bright,we ended up sleeping the second and third night on the mattress topper in the living area and blocked off the banister, we chose the cottage for our return visit, but I would definitely say the pod was better for sleeping and was much quieter. Disappointed that there were no breakfasts been served as we enjoyed that when we stayed before.

Unfortunately we arrived late due to delays on the ferry crossing but the staff went above and beyond to supply food and drinks at eleven thirty in the evening. The rooms were very clean and the facilities were good.
Would have given an excellent rating for the visit, however we had a leak on the bathroom floor on arrival, there was no spare toilet paper. Also only two cups in room but it was booked for four and cottage four one of the guest scalded their hands from the hot water tap.

The location is amazing quiet, safe , the best . The lodge was good , very good maybe a bit pricey for what you get . But what made the stay was the landlady n landlord of the pub opposite truly amazing people, nothing was to much trouble and the food at the pub is bloody lovely, really great food . Landlady even got up early to make us breakfast baps n coffee on the morning we left . Thank you so much to them for making our stay there so great

Ideal, safe . With our 2 year old .. trouble that he is .. :-) .. really accommodating staff (especially the bar man ) . They bent over backwards to make us feel welcome … the parrot is a great addition “ hey pal” :-) .. will definitely be heading back this is the second time we stayed there and I expect a third … it ha beautiful views over the estuary and Lancaster, with peace and tranquility…. I understand the food is great to which you could eat off the new floor….. ;-)
Was spot on … you’d pay a small fortune for a place like yours down south … well done !

We loved the location away from town and down on a river estuary. The staff were helpful and friendly. The parking was excellent and the apartment was roomy and comfortable. It was also nice and quiet at night.
When we arrived the lock box for the key was jammed slightly so we had to get someone over to fix it – more a niggle than a problem. We stayed at the apartment during one of the hottest periods of the year. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning – again, not a major problem. However it would have helped to have had a fan in the room to circulate the air.

Excellent location and friendly staff.
Our visit coincided with England Euro 24 perliminary round match. Went for evening meal to find kitchen closed at 4.00pm. Was told by one member that this was due to new floor being laid and by someone else that it was due to football. Whatever the reason it would have been nice to be informed beforehand. Pizza was available but had we been told that dining room would be closed we would have found alternative.

Very convenient for the motorway but a nice quite riverside location. For us it was just a quick overnight stop on route between glasgow and kent however the experience was elevated by the lovely warm pub onsite and tasty food. Would def stop here again, ideally in the summer to make the most of the good views from the pub garden.
No real issues. Maybe just that the room was setup for 3 guests but only 2 cups and saucers were provided so we could all have a cup of tea on arrival after our drive.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming it was like meeting family members, the food quality, choice and portions were exceptional , the accommodation was excellent, a nice peaceful location, couldn’t have asked more, would definitely book again.
I can honestly say that the only downside was the lack of breakfast during weekdays, but this didn’t really impact as we were given recommendations on nearby locations if we wanted breakfast, for me, this issue doesn’t even pass the “so what” test.

Very pleasant, spacious rooms, with separate seating and sleeping areas, opening directly onto pavement, carpark and garden. There is a bench outside, nicely positioned for any morning sunshine, with lovely views of the river. The pub is a proper pub with really well-kept beer (Lancaster Brewery when we stayed, perhaps always is), a great atmosphere - and a parrot. What more could you need..?
A slightly larger kettle would have been useful - but I'm being picky.
