The staff were all friendly and professional- they went the extra mile to make sure all guests were looked after and happy with everything. The food was of excellent quality and whilst the menu was limited for those staying multiple nights, the chef did put on specials - and they have plans to revamp the menu soon too.

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. I had a gorgeous room on the top floor. If I was to make a suggestion it would be to replenish the small bottled water each day and put a box of tissues in the room - but that is all.

We stay here several times a year to visit family and local towns. The hotel feels like home and everything is tended to with professionalism. The breakfast is fantastic (the omelette is my favourite and great coffee!). Evening dinner served in our room was exceptional. We used the new WhatsApp option for all our room service and it was flawless. The room was fantastic and nicely decorated, with a very large comfortable bed, a cosy sofa lounge area, an ample sized bathroom with bath and separate shower, and a separate walk-in wardrobe and luggage space. We enjoyed a lovely wander around the glorious grounds this morning too! Perfect stay.

Staff helpful and friendly. Bed was clean and comfortable and bathroom was clean.

room needed vaccuming - there were a couple of bits of debris on the carpet. There were no blackout cutains and the lights from the drive bothered me for most of the night. Breakfast was OK - there was a wedding party in and so not cooked to order as usually is. Really do not like guests arriving for breakfast in nightclothes - I think hotel should insist that people dress for breakfast.

We had a really pleasant stay. The building itself was quite impressive, and very well-maintained. We found the staff to be genuinely helpful and friendly, and the food we had was lovely – definitely good quality. Considering how nice everything was, the room rate was very reasonable indeed. We'd certainly be happy to return

My cod was over cooked, but that's all I can pin point, my partners food was delicious.

This is our third visit in recent months so it feels like our second home! The hotel and staff are fantastic. The rooms are unique and clean, with all the trimmings to make your stay feel special. The breakfast has everything for everyone (cereals, pastries, toast, yoghurts, fruits, as well as a variety of cooked dishes like Eggs Benedict, Full English, omelette, etc). The afternoon/evening dining menu is very good too, and the bar is cosy and friendly. All the beds I have stayed in are very comfortable; mattresses, bedding and pillows are exceptional.

The water takes a little bit of time to warm up for the shower, which I don't mind waiting for, but if that could be improved then the hotel would be perfect :-)

The host was excellent. Upon check-in, I received a map and clear instructions on navigating the area. They promptly resolved an issue I had, demonstrating great responsiveness and helpfulness throughout my stay. The accommodation was clean and conveniently located for accessing the city via a pleasant walk along the river. Breakfast was also excellent

The TV had only 4 channels, none of which were BBC. The shower was a bit temperamental. No other issues to note.

Good breakfast, but small for the price. Room was clean and well presented Staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for you.

Décor in the bathroom was an overpainted damaged wall with flaking paint that really should have been repaired properly. Shower was good but a fixed head shower isn't my favourite. Also maybe more mats could have been provided as the floor is freezing cold tiles

The room was really strange, on entry there was a seating area etc, then another door into the bedroom, the most annoying thing was the bathroom the door opened onto the toilet, also the view from the window was looking at pipes on the outside, if we hadn't been there for a weeding I would have definitely complained and asked for another room

Stayed here several times in the last 12 months and it's so easy to be a loved guest here, so much so that you want to stay for longer! The hotel is beautiful, surrounded by countryside and wildlife. Its close proximity to Leeds makes this a real hidden gem. The staff are professional and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The food in the restaurant, the breakfast dining and room service is all excellent. There is a relaxing bar, quiet libraries and plenty of privacy in the unique well-kept rooms. A real joy to stay here!

Great location, well laid out with comfortable furniture throughout. Restaurant was very nice and the bar area very welcoming and comfortable. Free, large onsite car park extremely handy.

Breakfast selection was a little limited and felt expensive for the options provided. Room was too warm but was easily sorted out with a quick chat to reception.
