An excellent location with a very comfortable room and other areas and fabulous food. But what makes the Royal stand out is the fantastic staff. Reception staff always friendly and helpful…bags carried upstairs on our arrival without even having to ask. Head chef and his team do a brilliant job. Housekeeping staff work around you and rooms are kept beautifully and finally Liz heading up the waiting staff just made our break! 10 for breakfast and 18 for lunch… not a problem for this team! Thank you to you all!

From the moment we walked in we felt like nothing more could be done to help us enjoy our stay. The person on reception when we booked in was fantastic, told us all the information that we needed and more. The night person working the bar was also fantastic, offering us an iced jug of water to take up to the room as it was extremely hot. The lady for breakfast welcomed us in and organised a big table for our group of 4 rooms to sit together and reserved it for us for the following day too. Room was lovely, clean and tidy. Food was fantastic and fresh, no issues adapting for food in tolerances. Loved our stay and although we went to attend a wedding, we will be coming back!

Wow, what a find. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by the most friendly team where attention to detail and exceptional customer service were priority. Our room was spotless, comfortable and all the little details had been thought of. Lights and switches in the right places, mirrors, extra blankets/pillows, iron/ironing board, plenty of charging points and a smart TV. We had room service and the food was perfect and well presented. Hot & plentiful delivered quickly by the team. Bed was super comfy and despite it being one of the hottest nights of the year the fan provided kept us cool and we had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was the best we've had. Great range of hot options. We chose Full English with quality ingredients, eggs royale and a fantastic selection of cereal, toast, yoghurts, fruit, toast, pastries and pastries. We were so impressed with this hotel. Family run and independent. Wished we'd managed to learn everyone's names as everyone was so friendly and helpful. Shout out to Liz at breakfast and the morning receptionist who went above and beyond to answer queries we had about the area. We will definitely return.

Lovely hotel excellent customer service.

Friendly and professional reception staff made our check in very easy after a long journey. The room was of a very high standard. Comfortable bed and the bathroom was immaculate with a nice hot modern bath/shower. At breakfast, we were hosted by the lovely Liz who provided us with a delicious breakfast and good quality coffee. She made sure we were looked after during our meal and gave us some great tips for activities in the local area. Both her and all the hotel staff were great during our short visit. We will definitely use this as a base for future visits to Liverpool.

Great location, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The greeting was exceptional and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. This is something money can't buy. The food was very good with a very wide choice and the dining room was cozy and warm with an agreeable atmosphere. We enjoyed our stay very much, not knowing what to expect from the area as we had not visited Liverpool before. The hotel is well placed to visit Liverpool without staying in the city centre.

Absolutely fantastic staff. So helpful. Large sea view room was delightful, cosy and warm with modern en-suite bathroom. Convenient free car parking. Excellent breakfast choice with good quality ingredients and hot dishes cooked to order, lovely and helpful staff.

Very little to dislike! There was no lift but it’s a historic building and we knew that from the hotel information. Offered to help with luggage if needed.
