Nice room with en suite facilities and a bathroom that wasn't a shoe box size. Great coffee maker in the room too.
It wasn't a dog friendly place, as the previous 3 places we'd stayed at were. It was a last minute booking my wife had made, so not really much time to find a dog friendly place. Even though the owner had his own dog on site, it's hard to understand how a dog lover would make another sleep outside in a car. For that reason alone I wouldn't return. Secondly, I found this to be the same with one of the other hotels we'd stayed at, a very small TV on the wall approx 14", maybe 15" tops on a fixed bracket that couldn't angle, so it was not a great viewing angle. Also the reception was terrible with limited channels over a regular aerial. I'm sure this could be solved with the likes of an amazon firestick that gets all channels via the Internet. Problem solved.

Convenient location on our way along NC 500. The view from our room was stunning. The owner was very pleasant, and he's really good at making breakfast. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Did have an issue figuring out how to operate the shower, but were eventually successful.
The pillows need more stuffing, but all else was satisfactory.

Convenient place to stay after a week on Orkney before returning via the NC500. Very good size room with view to woods behind the house. Clean and comfortable and good breakfast. Friendly and efficient service.
We had the room with a separate private bathroom, which was a bit of a way down the hallway past other rooms rather than being adjacent. Wasn't really a problem for us but needed to think about what to take when heading to the shower! Decor is a bit dated but clean

Room was comfortable with a lovely view. An evening meal was offered for £20 which included 3 courses which was very tasty and filling. The host was friendly and chatty with the most beautiful black Labrador (which wasn’t allowed in the guest area) There is full access to a lounge area also. Breakfast menu was plentiful and delicious. Would recommend a stay here.

Rolf (and Marly the black lab) was a great host. It was a great convenience for Rolf to wash, dry and fold our clothes. The room was spacious and well appointed with a great sea view. The bathroom was modern and spotless. Shelling BanB is a great stopover when travelling along the northern section of the NC500. It’s also only a short drive to The Flows nature reserve that protects extensive peat bogs.

Outstanding hospitality offered by Rolf; nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We also had an evening meal there which was absolutely delicious with Rolf being a most attentive host. The B&B is two minutes drive from Melvich beach and whilst located off the main road, you can hear absolutely no road noise. Highly recommended in every respect!
Nothing; Rolf has fine-tuned his operation to a 'T'. Keep it going!

We liked the location, a friendly host, breakfast, coffee machine in the room, hand cream in the bathroom.
The bed could have been larger (or two beds instead) as for two normally constitued persons it seemed to be a bit too narrow. The property's shower was a true riddle! In the shower cabine, there was no place to put shampoo or any other bottles.

The location was incredible, with views out over an absolutely stunning beach. The staff were friendly and Marley the labrador was adorable. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The room was big, the bed was comfortable and we slept really well. The shower was hot and powerful. There was plenty of space to park. If we ever find ourselves in this beautiful corner of the world again (which I hope we do!) we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.
Nothing - we loved our stay.

Cozy room conveniently located right on the NC 500 so no detour necessary, but far enough from the road. Gorgeous view of the beach, which you can walk to. It is isolated from shops/restaurants, but that is to be expected on this route. The only local (walking distance) restaurant was fully booked so we went to Farr Bay Inn, which was amazing. The best part? Marley, who wanted belly rubs every time we walked in or out! He is the best dog for a B&B!

Great 1 night stop in this lovely B&B. Fantastic views of the coast from one of our rooms. Very comfortable rooms with full facilities including a coffee machine. Smashing breakfast & a welcoming host.
One of our rooms had a separate bathroom to the main bedroom which was private but a little inconvenient.
