Fantastic views. Two chair balcony The staff are really friendly knowledgeable and try hard to be helpful. Excellent breakfast. Large room very clean good quality linen, nice bathroom and bedroom well presented. Excellent value.

Room 8 blinds only go 2 thirds of the way down leaving the outside led lights beam into the room and onto bed. Can be noisy outside as there are no curtains to blank out the noise and light . Only one bedside light with switch behind headboard. Hotel entrance / exit not as welcoming compared to the well decorated rooms. Little signage as where to go on arrival.

The arrival welcome and directions to our room was friendly and good. The room and en-suite shower room was clean. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. There was tea, coffee & biscuits provided and a large TV. The room looked over the RNLI Lifeboat Station and was quiet. The rooms are refreshed by staff every day. The breakfast choice was very good, we had the cooked breakfast option which was delicious.

If you choose to stay in a friendly and popular pub which is located centrally by Minehead Harbour then this is for you. Difficult to find anything we did not like, may be the carpets and decor are a bit dated and tired, but it is an old property with character and visitors should accept this.

The old ship aground is a lovely traditional sea side pub. The drinks are very reasonably priced. The food we had was excellent, as was the breakfast the next morning. Our room was comfortable and clean,with an unexpected bonus of a balcony overlooking the bay. We had the best night in the bar, friendly staff and the locals took us into their group and made us welcome, big thankyou to James, Ian, and ladies. Sorry, your names escape me. There was entertainment by a fantastic singer Sam, who played his heart out and involved us all in his performance. I would highly recommend this pub/ hotel, you won't regret a stay.

There was nothing to dislike to be fare.

When I arrived, after a busy week at Spring Harvest at Butlins, I was a little unsure if I had the right hotel as I could not remember my booking and did not have my booking reference to hand. However, booking in was easy and the person showing me to my room, very pleasant. I had a drink there on Friday evening and again, the staff were very pleasant. Breakfast the following morning was very nice and yet again, the waitress, pleasant

Although the room was quite large and airy, I had difficulty with the shower and could not get it very hot, no matter which way I turned the dial

Very good location, near walking trails and the town centre. Good looking hotel with nice bar and restaurant (reserve dinner on arrival, it's popular). The room was clean (the most important thing,for me) and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included, and it was just what I needed (never had to buy lunch). Also, a surprisingly good shower.

No air conditioning (but didn't expect it at this price point), TV placed far too high (but I wouldn't have watched it anyway). No view to speak of, but other rooms did.

Would have been good to have a comfortable chair in the room instead of one hard stool. Bathroom on the small side but adequate for short stay Having booked for Sunday lunch was disappointed to be put in far front corner of bar and expected to carry lunch thru. Should have been asked if booking was for carvery, however, a table was found for us and lunch excellent. Our room was above the kitchen and the radio was far too loud from the kitchen going on till 9.45 most evenings. If guests staying for more than one night and wishing to eat in pub, then menu choice, for us at least, was poor.

The location was perfect for what we needed, right on near the beach and little harbour so we could walk the dog, the pub was great we had an evening meal there which was very nice, great choice of beers and drinks the pub has a warm cosy feel to it. great value with the breakfast included too. We were lucky to get a room with a balcony too which i didn't spot in the photo when booked so having a coffee in the morning on there was so nice.

The shower could do with a good scrub around the seals of the shower screen, aside from that it was absolutely fine good value for money.

Minehead is a lovely little seaside town. Room 1 is small, quiet, and comfortable and has a lovely big window with a side sea view. I liked the blue colour of the room with the white trim. The TV worked well but it is practically attached to the ceiling - difficult to see from the bed. There was a good selection of tea, chocolate, biscuits etc. The bathroom is small but functional. The hotel is old and has lots of character, which I liked. The location is unbeatable for those wanting to walk the Coastal Path. Hotel has great pub. Breakfast was good but it took a long time to get it. Staff were nice.

The hotel is quite shabby (but not chic!) in some of the public areas. If it is not possible to clean the stairs carpet, then it is time to replace it. Bed was much too soft and squishy for my taste but I slept well. Wifi in room was bad but good downstairs. TV too high up.

The room was spacious, quiet - away from the pub noise. Comfortable bed. Large private bathroom and toilet. Wardrobe with hangers, plus a dresser. Tea, coffee, hot choc, biscuit and kettle provided in room. Lamp also present in room. Location was great for the hiking chosen over this weekend.

My window in my room could not be shut and it was quite chilly in the evenings. Breakfast (although free) started quite late (so the hiking started late due to this). It also took a very long time to make. I had pancakes on both days and waited 40 mins on the first day for it (unfortunately wasn't warm by the time it had arrived), and nearly an hour on the second day. Not ideal. Staff were also busy so were not able to welcome me initially to stay there.

The location, on the quayside, with views across the bay, and Exmoor close by; the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff; the food was good, the pub is a proper old pub with a wood fire, attractive traditional decor, a good range of beers, and a welcoming ambience. The beds were comfortable, and the breakfasts good. We had a very enjoyable stay, and loved staying at the Old Ship Aground in Minehead.

There was nothing we didn't like, but the seating in the bar area could be more comfortable.
