The only complaint we had was that the Knives were not sharp enough to cut through the menu items that we had ordered on both days. Otherwise, everthing was what we would expect and more. Many thanks to the staff,and would thoroughly reccomend this hotel anytime. Thank you, and thank you Minehead, for a superb 44th wedding Anniversary present to us both and our Special dog, Tango !

The non sharpness of the Knives That were supposed to cut through the Eggs benedict Brioche bread. Maybe you should offer Stake Knives for that task. apart from that, everthing was so perfect about the place, even though we could not contact the hotel to confirm booking because someone had not put the hotels mobile on charge. but, we will certainly not hold it against this superbly positioned Hotel/Pub and its staff. The ambience, the vibe. the location overlooking the harbour is lovely. It wasn't overly noisy or busy despite the location, however schools aren't out yet so possibly would get a lot busier. The bed was large and comfy, the room a great size. Nice tea making facilities.

The dark room (painted navy blue) despite the tall windows, the lack of air-conditioning, it was SO hot this weekend. Room wasn't cleaned during our 4 night stay but we did reject cleaning once as we were in, but lack of towel change was strange. Plug sockets weren't in a good place eg no plugs by the bed. Bathroom could do with an update and shower pressure was lacking. And the wardrobe wasn't long enough for dresses so I'm assuming it was a child's wardrobe...why?!

Love love love the history and charm of this Old World charming Pub and Inn! Right in front of the quay & fun to watch the tide come in and lift the boats of the sand. Also at the trailhead of the Southwest Coast Path! Don’t cover those ancient floorboards in the hall upstairs, I can image the boots of sailors from centuries past walking on them!

The bed was very comfortable and great to have an original old fire place (not functional) in the room. Somebody needs to do some thrifting for some vintage furniture to bring back a bit more charm to the bedrooms and bedroom doors to complete the ambience :) still a gem to stay at!

Room was very basic but clean, cotton sheets on a very comfortable bed. The rooms were upstairs from a most excellent pub, right on the harbour side. Breakfast was delicious, all three hot choices well cooked and tasty with the usual selection of cereals etc although the fruit juices were too sweet for my taste. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great value as long as you don’t mind a very basic bedroom.

The en suite shower room to my bedroom was really cramped, I could not even bend down in the shower to wash my feet. The upstairs corridors were a bit un-salubrious as was the bedroom, albeit perfectly clean.

Fantastic views. Two chair balcony The staff are really friendly knowledgeable and try hard to be helpful. Excellent breakfast. Large room very clean good quality linen, nice bathroom and bedroom well presented. Excellent value.

Room 8 blinds only go 2 thirds of the way down leaving the outside led lights beam into the room and onto bed. Can be noisy outside as there are no curtains to blank out the noise and light . Only one bedside light with switch behind headboard. Hotel entrance / exit not as welcoming compared to the well decorated rooms. Little signage as where to go on arrival.

The arrival welcome and directions to our room was friendly and good. The room and en-suite shower room was clean. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. There was tea, coffee & biscuits provided and a large TV. The room looked over the RNLI Lifeboat Station and was quiet. The rooms are refreshed by staff every day. The breakfast choice was very good, we had the cooked breakfast option which was delicious.

If you choose to stay in a friendly and popular pub which is located centrally by Minehead Harbour then this is for you. Difficult to find anything we did not like, may be the carpets and decor are a bit dated and tired, but it is an old property with character and visitors should accept this.

The old ship aground is a lovely traditional sea side pub. The drinks are very reasonably priced. The food we had was excellent, as was the breakfast the next morning. Our room was comfortable and clean,with an unexpected bonus of a balcony overlooking the bay. We had the best night in the bar, friendly staff and the locals took us into their group and made us welcome, big thankyou to James, Ian, and ladies. Sorry, your names escape me. There was entertainment by a fantastic singer Sam, who played his heart out and involved us all in his performance. I would highly recommend this pub/ hotel, you won't regret a stay.

There was nothing to dislike to be fare.

When I arrived, after a busy week at Spring Harvest at Butlins, I was a little unsure if I had the right hotel as I could not remember my booking and did not have my booking reference to hand. However, booking in was easy and the person showing me to my room, very pleasant. I had a drink there on Friday evening and again, the staff were very pleasant. Breakfast the following morning was very nice and yet again, the waitress, pleasant

Although the room was quite large and airy, I had difficulty with the shower and could not get it very hot, no matter which way I turned the dial

Very good location, near walking trails and the town centre. Good looking hotel with nice bar and restaurant (reserve dinner on arrival, it's popular). The room was clean (the most important thing,for me) and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included, and it was just what I needed (never had to buy lunch). Also, a surprisingly good shower.

No air conditioning (but didn't expect it at this price point), TV placed far too high (but I wouldn't have watched it anyway). No view to speak of, but other rooms did.

The staff were very friendly & helpful, the breakfast was delicious & filling. The bay beside the hotel is a very nice relaxing place to sit, especially first thing in the morning. But despite the room being a little worse for wear, I'd still recommend.

The room was comfortable & functional, how ever the room was a little tatty, wall paper peeling in paces, bedside lamp had a loose stand & there was a nosy air conditioning unit right below my window. In the bathroom someone had put brown tape on the wall obviously to cover up a hole.
