Value for money. Nice to have a pool. Great location. Large bedrooms. Good quality breakfast items. Decent restaurant. Lovely welcoming and friendly and efficient staff. Restaurant staff amazing. Would come again. But some attention to the upkeep is required as in stains on carpets, which is simple to rectify and not too expensive, yet important.

Leisure centre very scruffy in areas. No jacuzzi. Holes in walls, no hot shower for gents. Stains on our bedroom carpet and window seat. Curtain hanging off rail. My parents (elderly) only wanted eggs and tomato for breakfast, so they should have at least been given a whole tomato rather than half, as they had no sausage, bacon or fried bread. Half a tomato is rather "tight" even with the full breakfast, tomatoes are not exactly expensive!! Please give people who don't want a full English extra of what they do want, ie a whole tomato, 2 eggs, double the beans etc. The little dishes to hold the beans were more like a dish you would put a portion of ketchup in, too small for an adult portion of beans. Beans are very cheap and easy to serve.

The staff were all very nice, cheerful and helpful. Beautiful grounds, a few minutes walk from the town. Dog friendly hotel with separate eating area for those who wanted to have their furry friends with them, plus dogs got a sausage for breakfast! Large bedroom, comfortable beds, tea/coffee in rooms, TV. Good selection of food for breakfast including cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurts, fruit juices, along with a cooked breakfast with a vegetarian option. Afternoon and evening menus available can't comment on them as we ate out evenings. Indoor heated swimming pool available. On site parking. WiFi.

Problem with the shower door, which in fairness they did try to resolve but couldn't at the time. The hotel was fully booked so we couldn't change rooms, so they gave us a small discount on our room bill. The cleaning in the rooms was ok but more attention to detail would be beneficial, e.g the bathroom window had a mildew/mould build up from condensation in the room, easily cleaned off with a cloth, the shower tray needed cleaning around where the doors overlapped. Although these aren't major issues it does bring down ones thoughts on the property.

We loved the premises and our room, which was spacious and comfortable, and the great view was much appreciated. The swimming pool, steam room, and jacuzzi were brilliant, and we loved how they were included in the price. The location is great, only a few minutes walk to the beach and centre of Minehead. The gardens looked great too. There are two options for eating at the hotel- one more relaxed with cheaper prices and another in a classy restaurant, all on the premises. We didn't make use of these as we were on a budget. Would come back!

I just felt like they could do with a deep clean of carpets, nooks, and cranies where dust had collected etc. Maybe a little refresh of deep cleaning and touch-ups would be good by people with an eye for detail. Shower does go off at 11pm and can be cold from time to time because of old boiler system.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were very polite and couldn't have been more helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were both of a decent size, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. The evening meal menu changes daily and you can choose from one course to two courses. We had two courses and were very pleased with our choices. Breakfast is both continental and cooked, so you don't have to choose one or the other. We used the swimming pool and steam room but the jacuzzi was not in use during our stay. The hotel itself has a lovely garden and a terrace to enjoy an evening drink in the sunshine. If you take the pathway to the edge of the garden, the promenade is just a two minute walk away. We were very happy with our stay.

Parts are a little 'old fashioned' but that didn't distract from a great stay, for us.

The food at Northfield was excellent and good value. The pool was the right temperature for both proper swimming and those who just wanted a relaxing swim The lounges were pleasant and coffee was provided free after the evening meal. Our room was large with windows looking both east and north. There were plenty of drawers to put things away and a reasonable number of hangers in the wardrobe. The hair dryer was near a mirror and the beside lamps were bright enough to be able to read in bed!!

the lift was rather dated and with our mobility problems hard to open. The radiators were not working but a moveable radiator was provided (and needed!) The bed covers were thin and we needed to put on the extra blankets provided. Our request for a walk-in shower did not reach the hotel, so we both had difficulty getting into and out of the bath to reach the shower. I thought there was a problems with the shower but in fact it was because I didn't turn the knob far enough round to hot (because I thought it was at the limit).

The room was very comfortable if quite dated, nice and warm with plenty of blankets if you needed them. The breakfast/dinning room was well spaced out and the service was really good too, cooked breakfast was fantastic. evening 4 course menu a real treat, just a few more Vegetables would have been nice, great pool great for getting the lengths in, shame the steam room and Hot tub were broken, hotel was only a short stroll from the Beach and the town center for some shopping, lots of places to eat out too.

The shower was very difficult to access if you had any mobility issues, the breakfast cold selection was a bit limited and they we slow to refresh basically get there first or miss out.

Food was good both breakfast and dinner. Good portions and quality. Nice chill out day rooms with comfy sofas. Very good access to town a few minutes walk and on a costal path. Pool and small gym an advantage. And although we have a few issues we probably would return as good value especially via Booking.com.

Although only a 3 star. I would say better cleaning and more upto date or uniform furniture in bedrooms as white drawers and wooden furniture mixed. But cleanliness ie dust and cobwebs even in the dining area. And although this is an old property with some lovely period features and many dust traps. Dust on skirting boards, pipes and radiators could easily be addressed. The cupboards under wash basin look to have white finish ove wood yet was really residue from toothpaste and or soap. Such a shame and maybe high season this may improve although during our visit it was almost to capacity according to reception.

Comfortable room, spacious toilet/bathroom. Not so far from the beach, town and Blenheim Gardens. With facilities e.g. pool, gym, hot tub, sauna - with no extra fees. Small idyllic place, not crowded when we went (1st/2nd week of December) compared to going to more famous places (Butlin’s is a few mins drive away).

The place looked a bit run down, but you can imagine it must’ve been prettier during its glory days. They have on-going renovations during our stay. The carpets and upholstered chairs in the common area near the bar could use a bit of stain removal. Shower was not draining very well.

For 3 star hotel it is not bad, I would say it is above average. Breakfast is shabby, but for my luck I don't eat breakfast. Coffee is only filter coffee what was big minus for me, they should include option for nice coffee going through machine with high pressure. Some attention to detail lacking, but it is understandable. Nice view from garden side. Staff is extremely helpful with problem solving quality. I recommend for any who is not fussy with 6 star service expectation, this hotel will be more than enough for them.

Shampoo dispenser was finicky, and restaurant breakfast need improvement.

Second visit to the Northfield Hotel, great hotel, menu ( half board ) & superb staff. Our first night, the Hotel was really busy, step up Tracey W, what a star, totally professional, unflappable, and a truly top lady. She is a real gem. We will certainly return, well done to all Team Northfield.

Not a dislike, only comment / observation, would be the Kingsize bed, it is two mattresses joined together , the joint makes it somewhat uncomfortable, could possibly do with a mattress topper, to alleviate/negate the join effect.
