First impressions were really good, nice area, clean and tidy looking pub. We paid on check in and were given our keys. We were quoted £88 but on check in she said it was £78.50. I queried it but she was adamant that all we needed to pay! We had booked a twin room but were given a quadruple room with a double and twin beds. It was a sizeable room and the amount of beds was not a detriment. There was a small sitting area, plenty of storage and clean and tidy en-suite. We were aware there was no food available in the pub but we were shown where we could get plates and cutlery if we wanted to bring food in. We went down to the pub on the first evening which was a typical old style pub. It had sports on TV which was not really our thing so we had a couple of drinks and went back to our room The beds were very comfy if very bouncy! I almost rolled off one of the single beds so treated myself to the double. The linen was crisp and fresh, there were plenty of good quality pillows and towels. Considering we paid £78.50 for 2 of us for 2 nights, I think we had a great value for money stay and would stay again.

The only negatives I can think of are very minor- the extension lead didn't work but we managed and the toilet was noisy but it was a macerator toilet so to be expected. You could also hear noise from the bar but as we booked a stay in a pub, why would you expect not to! It didn't disturb us and didn't go on late.

Location was great, pub was lovely as was the staff, the courtyard was great for letting out the dog early morning. Place was lovely and warm. We were topped up with tea and coffee,towels were included,plus hand soap and shower gel , over all very good

The toilet in room 2, I have one of these in my own house, it really dose not function like it should, just 3 toilet sheets of paper and you have to flush at least 3 to 4 times and that’s just the paper,also the shower was to hot, could not get it to regulate correctly.

For anyone wanting to visit County Durham, the OYO in Murton is centrally located and won't break the bank! This is the second time I've stayed here and the rooms are clean, secure, and spacious. This is not a five-star hotel...it is a lovely old village inn that has been renovated and brought up to modern standards...with a pub on the main floor to boot!

The bathrooms are a bit small and outdated and could do with a new makeover. This did not affect their use in any way - they're just not very pretty!

No food is served on the premises but they let you order food in to eat in the bar, they have various menus behind the bar. The location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding at the Old Pump House. The room was clean and tidy, the bar area also, we got a lovely welcome on arrival by the lady who ran the bar. All the locals were friendly and the atmosphere was really good in the bar at night. Would book again if I was in the area.

Nothing at all. Lovely place to stay for the price we paid. Everything in the room what we needed was there, and the room was cleaned and coffee & tea was refilled up.

The staff were really friendly, let us know how to contact them if needed and then left us to it which I much prefer to constant checking in. It was clean and tidy. Nice location.

There was limited parking and many patrons of the pub use the parking spaces which meant I had to park elsewhere which was difficult as I’m disabled and was very tired and uncomfortable at that time. Had I felt better it wouldn’t have been an issue as it was only 5 minutes down the road but something to bear in mind.

The room was a good size, just a shame it had a macerator toilet which did let of an unpleasant smell. There was no where to hang your towels in the shower room and could have done with a new toilet holder and bin as both were rusty. The shower cubicle could have done with a better clean. I never went into the bar area itself, so can't comment on that area All in all, I would go back again.

The room was clean and far, far more spacious than I've ever had at a hotel. Staff seemed relaxed and supportive of my little dog companion. Location was amazing! Walkable from sports facilities, parks and the sea. Easy reach of other towns and shopping.

I appreciate there must be a real reason and alternative takeaway food was offered, but it would have made a real difference to have had a simple selection of food for evening meal and a breakfast.

Great value for money (Room Only). Easy car access to Seaham and the surrounding areas. Spar garage down the road do hot breakfast sandwiches/coffee/pasties, also breakfast at McDonalds is only a short ride away on Dalton Park Shopping Centre, or if venturing into Seaham, plenty of choice on the front. Owner, Staff and customers are super friendly and make you feel really welcome. Our 5th Stay this year, and wont be the last. (Oh, and they allow you to order takeaway food which you can eat in the pub)

Room 7 was a bit noisy on Saturday evening as there was a function on, but it didn't go on too late, so not a problem.

Booked as we were attending a wedding at the Pump House. Distance was super convenient (dalton park is 2 mins away for breakfast) and had a key for out of hours access once the pub had closed. Staff were lush, super accommodating and friendly. The room looked like it must have been renovated not too long ago. It was spotless and beds were SO comfortable. Didn’t expect it, but this place was excellent value and 100% recommend

Walls a tiny bit thin but the road outside isn’t busy and not too many guests for there to be much disturbance

We have stayed here before. The room was spacious, and clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff were great. We have booked again in May.

Parking was a little tricky if arriving back in the evening. A small niggle, there was no decaf coffee in the room.
