We enjoyed our stay, the room was pleasant enough and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room was supposed to be garden view not the car park. Telephone in the room did not work Television did not work with hd Lost TV signal completely in the morning. The toaster's did not work at breakfast time and three staff could not solve the problem another guest switched them on meanwhile breakfast was getting cold. Only allowed one hour in swimming pool even though it was almost empty.

The room was spacious and light, nicely decorated with a comfortable seating / table area in the window. The Spa facilities were excellent, well maintained and offered a variety of gym, pool and other spa options. The swimming area was particularly large with plenty of poolside loungers and refreshment station. Breakfast options were wide and varied with kitchen staff very helpful and attentive to dietary needs.

We received a poor level of service from reception desk staff in regard to knowledge and willingness to help us when asking about Gluten free options for room service. (Catering staff were very helpful but we didn't get to talk to them until the following day.)

The hotel was amazing as well as the staff ! We were a little disappointed that we were away there on Saturday for our anniversary and for £243 for a deluxe room we got no robes / slippers for the spa as we didn't have a spa package the receptionist on spa told us and on arrival we were told we could only have a hour in the spa area which also didn't include the spa with outside area unless we payed another £45 each which was a little too much with the price of the spa break /overnight stay.I did have a lovely sleep in the comfortable bed and the restaurant/bar are gorgeous.

Price was a little high without the extras (robes,slippers), and only an hour in the inside part of the spa had to pay extra if you wanted the use of the outside pool .Shame as the stay was great.

Unclear information about the spa. We weren't informed you get only an hour's use, have to attend the spa to pre book and can only enter on the hour.

I did ask for flower petals in the shape of a heart and paid extra for it but didn’t get it.

Bed very comfortable and room spacious. Breakfast was great. Spa facilities great after the children left the area.

Towels that were provided in the room were dirty- old make up stains on them. Booked to use the spa for 5pm and there was a lot of children using the pool area jumping in and out the pool and with the lack of seats available at that time had to seat close to the pool area so kept getting splashed. However pool assistants were trying their best to ensure the floor was swept to reduce the risk of any falls from the puddles on the floor as a result from the children jumping in and out the pool and using the ice bucket.

We had a fantastic room which overlooked the Golf Course. Very large bed. The bathroom was amazing 👏 Large area with a separate hip bath, lovely shower and loo separate. Food in the hotel was very good too- had a lovely meal in the Charcoa restaurant in the evening. Would definitely stay again. It's a large sprawling hotel so something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues. A great stay thanks.

There was a power cut in the middle of the night which only bothered me as I sleep lightly. However security guys were checking corridors with torches and told us it was fine and would be restored soon which it was.

The hotel is lovely and so near to Durham!

The walls weren’t soundproof in the premier rooms as we could hear next door’s music and everything they were doing and saying all evening and morning (good job I took earplugs!) and the door lock was broken which we reported to reception but wasn’t fixed during our stay even though they promised they would fix it or move us. Otherwise it was a nice hotel with good facilities and the food in the pub on site was spot on.

The warm welcome, the professionalism . Clean beautiful bedrooms & ensuite facilities with good brand products supplied . The food was amazing 3 different venues to choose from . The bar and lounge area were very pleasant surroundings to enjoy a nice drink or quite reflecting time .

Unfortunately a member of the public in the spa, was very rude & telling us what we could or could not do while using the Spa facilities & made it quite clear that she was a paid member & not an overnight visitor. It was quite rude & uncomfortable . I did clarify this with a member of the Spa staff who dealt with the matter accordingly and assured me we were free to use the facilities without feeling we weren’t able too.

Room was large and very nice. It all gave a sense of new or very well kept. Restaturant onsite is good as well.

When I book on Booking I do not expect the Hotel to start harassing me with pointless mails every single day. My contact is shared for booking purposes only. I should not have to opt out of marketing preferences I never agreed to in the first place. Breakfast was good, but I was not informed that there were two options and I ended up paying for the most expensive (full neglish) even if had a continental breakfast. Reception should probably be marked in a better way.
