We were unexpectedly ungraded which was a nice surprise. However, other than a gigantic room and the extra robes the ‘suite’ was a little tired, particularly the bathroom. We didn’t really feel it was too different to a normal room. The view was lovely though as it was riverside.

Breakfast was a disappointment. We arrived after a coach party and non of the tables had been cleared or reset which was not inviting. The staff, although polite, were not in a hurry to get the room sorted. The food was perfectly acceptable but sadly not the surroundings to relax and enjoy it.

A wonderful welcome as soon as we stepped inside the hotel lobby. The lobby itself was so clean and inviting. We were on the 5th floor with a view over the Tyne. Lovely. Our room was very spacious and the bed was so comfortable. The bed linen was crisp, clean and smelled so fresh. I rarely sleep all night in a hotel room but I did in the Copthorne. The tea/coffee facility was much appreciated as I like a morning cuppa first thing! Breakfast was plentiful and varied. The room overlooks the Tyne. Lovely waterside position. The staff in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful.

I would have loved freshly brewed tea or coffee made by the staff rather than from a machine. It wasn't the best cup of coffee!

Great location, fantastic views from the rooms which was very spacious and spotless. Staff all friendly, used the restaurant for breakfast and that was also excellent. Booked last minute and got a great deal but prices seem very reasonable on other dates also. Lage selection of bars, restaurants and attractions on both sides of the river close by.

Everything excellent for myself and partner. If you have mobility issues and plan to walk around it was steps or a steep hill to get to the main bit of town but otherwise all great and the location gives you great views of all the bridges.

The car park is grim. Poorly lit, poor directional signage, almost no signs on how to get into hotel - if you are parked toward one end of the level it is impossible to see whether to head to door (a) which is the correct one, or door (b) which is a fire exit in the other direction. The hotel cannot change the structure but could certainly improve the directional signage and use colour to add some warmth to each parking level, particularly as they are charging £12 per day

Everything my self and my Husband celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary on Friday the 4th of July but could not go to the copthorne hotel in Newcastle until the 6th of July we had a fabulous time the room was perfect the staff were so friendly and professional we could not fault anything we will definitely be back again hopefully in 3 weeks for my 70th birthday. It just feels like a home from home it feels like going to see a special friend you haven't seen for a while. The atmosphere is very welcoming and Relaxing the copthorne is always kept very clean and tidy nothing could disappoint us. The food was amazing as always keep doing what you are doing never change...

I really like this hotel as you cannot beat the view on the river. Danielle at the reception was fantastic from my check-in to my check-out. Although my room was on the small size (syndicate room) it was quiet and confortable. The regular double room were not available on higher floor. I was able to leave my small bag while visiting the city.

The room was hot and I could not get cold air from the AC but it was not too much of a problem. I decided to have breakfast at 09:00 am and paid £15 but did not realised it is served only till 09:30 am so there was almost no food choice left.

Nice, clean and quiet room, very comfortable beds. Reasonably fast Wi-Fi (35 Mbps). Very good breakfast.

The location is fine if you come by car, but it's not very walkable. There are very long stairs (over 100 steps) between the hotel and the railway station. The only other negative point was the slighly dated bathroom. The shower head and shower thermostat appear to date from the late 80s or early 90s. The thermostat did not work properly. I set it on the 38 degrees but it was scolding hot and had to be lowered to around 25 degrees to obtain the desired temperature.

I absolutely love this hotel! The decor is stylish and immaculate throughout. The staff are incredibly friendly and always go the extra mile to help. The rooms are spacious and offer a stunning view of the river. The beds are so comfortable. I’ve had some of my best nights sleep here, and I usually don't sleep well away from home! There is also no noise from the corridors, surrounding rooms or from outside which has always been a problem for me at other hotels. Breakfast is a real highlight, with an impressive variety of delicious options to choose from. I also love the thoughtful touch of a complimentary drinks voucher, allowing guests to unwind at the bar while enjoying the beautiful river view and watching the world go by. I rated the location 4 stars only because reaching the city center requires either climbing a lot of steps or tackling a steep hill. However, this minor inconvenience wouldn’t stop me from staying here again, it’s absolutely worth it!

Again happy to return to our preferred location and hotel, when visiting the most vibrant city the NORTH. The Copthorne hotel is brilliantly located along Newcastle Quay side next to the river Tyne. As frequent runners, we enjoyed having several options for staying local and still have miles of popular running routes just outside the door. Helpful and super friendly staff recognising us from previous stays made us feel very welcomed. Superb service and cleanliness throughout our 12 nights stay. For lovers of Newcastle, who appreciate quiet comfort despite from being right in the city centre, this hotel can only be highly recommended.

Clean, great staff, excellent location within walking distance to millennium bridge. Parking was right next to the hotel at a discounted rate £12.50 per 24 hrs. I travelled from London and didn’t get there until really late in evening. I spoke to Abbie earlier in the day and was worried about check in process she was very professional and extremely helpful with all my queries and very kindly allocated a twin room with nice view to ensure my daughter and I could get a good night sleep after a long journey. Exceptional customer service :) Thank you !! Adam was also welcoming, friendly and very informative about the area and places to visit. All staff were friendly, polite and welcoming will definitely reserve a room with Copthorne Hotel next time we are in Newcastle .
