We stayed in a deluxe double room (412) from 26-30 March which was completely quiet (as I had requested) and a good size for two people (though it lacked drawer space). The location is perfect with everything a tourist needs on your doorstep so you don’t need a car. Good security on the door at night as it’s in the centre of town so no drunks or any other undesirables can enter the hotel.
Unfortunately housekeeping in the room/bathroom was not great. The carpet was not vacuumed and the same crumbs were left. The tap in the bathroom sink always had the same lumps of toothpaste stuck on it for the duration of our stay. The hot and cold buffet breakfast was ok (full English was available) but the pain au chocolat and croissants were poor quality and there was only industrial sliced bread with no other variety of bakery bread. I noticed that when the tables were cleared, they were not automatically wiped down and often the next guests would arrive and sit down at a dirty table, even though fresh cutlery had been laid. There were no slippers or bathrobes available, which surprised me as it’s a 4-star hotel.

Good breakfast where the cooked foods replenished regularly so still warm. We ate dinner there two nights and had a choice for the dairy-free guest. The staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't hear noise from other rooms except when other guests let their doors slam (thankfully not many)
Three big TV screens in the restaurant which played the news channel with sound-off both at breakfast and at dinner. I do not want to watch the news when eating dinner. Our server was apologetic about it when we mentioned it. My room service was so cursory the second morning my dirty cups weren't replaced.

The hotel offers an excellent location, is clean and well maintained. The bed was excellent and the bathroom well-set up.
Very minor point - the orange juice served at breakfast was really just coloured water. Come on Maldron, you can do better!

Tips paid for via card, apparently not given to staff. Thought this was illegal now?...😡

Lovely hotel, centrally placed. Really nice staff throughout.. Room very good and comfortable.. Nice size as well, didn't feel cramped. Excellent comfy bed. Good breakfast plenty of choice and regularly topped up. Would stay here again. Excellent value all round. Very highly recommended.
Couple of minor niggles, why no loo brush? Bathroom air vent loose in wall and stuck in closed position. Hot tap in sink, never got really hot, although shower was fine. Bathroom could have been cleaned better, following room being serviced. A clock of some form would be nice. . A /C control was erratic. A another picture would have been nice. As stated above only really minor niggles.

Really central, well appointed and majority of the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. One member of the reception team went above and beyond getting us a quieter room (which was superb) and sending a gift of small desserts up to the room when my daughter won gold at a team England dance event . You were so lovely and we will visit again because of you . Unfortunately there were other reception staff who were too busy enforcing rules, and not able to accommodate guests reasonable requests .. when we arrived and asked if there was any possibility of an early check in - we were an hour and a half early .. we were told no have to pay £40 .. We only wanted to store a piece of luggage that couldn’t be accommodated in the baggage room .. However when we checked in the room .. it was dirty food on the floor and empty bottles under the bed . If you are going to enforce your terms, make sure that what guests are paying for is what they receive! Thank you to the lovely reception staff that did sort us out and for the kindness in the rest of our stay .
Some officious reception staff . Not all .. majority are lovely but the odd one are the welcome party to your guests and are not welcoming at all!

We asked for a quiet room and on the whole it was. Noisy folks passing outside was a slight issue on one night, which is why we choose mid-week if possible. Probably would not bother others but we live in a quiet village.
Our joint (5of us) main complaint was the quality of BREAD at breakfast. I think it is the worst quality bread we have ever experienced in a hotel here and certainly abroad. Personally, I would have appreciated some rolled oats (which I am sure I would have received, had I asked) or meusli. I suffered the fruit and fibre but they are full of sugar. I don’t have cooked breakfast (vegan).

We stayed here for 6 nights. Beds are very comfy. Room is a good size and bathroom. Only issue was having to ask for a restock of items for tea making, and sometimes water bottles were not restocked. The staff are bit robotic at reception.TIme to look up from computers and at least smile at customers when they enter hotel. Have to give a big call out to the lady on night duty who helped us check out at 3am with a smile at that hour.So was the security staff. Maybe day staff could learn from them goes a long way when your travelling. Despite that, I do recommend Maldron Hotels as a good room and comfy beds.

The hotel and the staff were great. The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was very good and considering that immediately outside the hotel were busy bars the hotel was managed very well and was quiet. The only think that could have been better was a bigger window for more natural light
There is nothing really about the hotel at all not to like. But I felt a little lost what to do in the area unless I wanted to drink. I found the views amazing, enjoying a walk to the Quay and an amazing view from the restaurant/bar at the Baltic, looking back across the river, the bridges, and visited a few places. But after 1 and half days in the centre I was a lost what to do.

The hotel is very comfortable, with clean and cozy rooms and well-equipped facilities, making the stay really pleasant. The location is excellent—just a five-minute walk from the train station, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it easy to get around. Victoria is an incredibly friendly and helpful person. No matter what we needed, she was always there to assist us right away. She kindly helped us keep a package, even though it was a really large box, and she also stored our luggage for us, which made our trip much more convenient. Every time we saw her, she greeted us warmly, making us feel truly welcome. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
