Our room was a bit dated, but it was clean and comfortable. The car parking was excellent, once we realised it was a public car park , with a voucher for free parking. All the staff we encountered were brilliant, helpful and friendly. The taxi list was very helpful, and worked well. Breakfast was very good, the buffet system was just right

It would have been good to have bar snacks before 6pm, even if just cold snacks. The bathroom could do with updating ( although very clean).

On arrival I thought blimey had I made a mistake? but never judge a book by its cover. The reception was very good, the lady on reception gave a comprehensive brief. I made my way to my room and was impressed by how clean the corridor was as with my room, although basic, it was very clean and had all the usual facilities. The shower was probably the best I have ever experienced, hot controllable water which had really good pressure. The bar was well stocked and run by very friendly staff. I didn’t have an evening meal but the menu looked very good. I did have breakfast, the lady in charge ran me through the items that we’re available and extra items that I could request. The food and presentation was lovely. Parking was good and for the location was ideal.

The ease of access at the front and the wide entrance. The large bedrooms and the shower room were excellent. I loved that staff were around the building and available at times I needed them. They offered to help. No end.

I can only think there isn’t a lift. I was up plenty of stairs. Being an older building perhaps this isn’t possible having said this the staff carried my trolley upstairs for me so kindly. Apologies. I had some photos of your hotel as it was so lovely. But they have been deleted by someone unhelpfully.

Very nice breakfast with good choices, staff also very accommodating to make poached eggs on one day and eggs Benedict the next. All the staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful, the bar prices weren’t outrageous. Bed was clean and comfortable, and our room in the annexe surprisingly quiet despite facing the road.

Shower was slightly underpowered but it’s a minor gripe

Friendly welcome from reception and knew we were meeting up with family. The bar was lovely although seats don't really suit the setting. Lovely light dining room, good meals and breakfast.

Not knowing the area took a while to find. The mattress in the bed was not comfy and duvet very thin. Also and I know this is not the hotels fault, maybe a reminder to other guests when booking in to be respectful of coming in at all hours and waking up other guests.

All the people we met were great and very accommodating.

Our evening meal of chilli and spaghetti bolognaise at £26 was very poor value for money, no offer of anything else ie Parmasan salt or pepper ,garlic bread.They had a large booking,so we felt very second thought,and that would do.The meals would normally only have been about £8 each in a decent restaurant so very disappointed. Last time we stayed at the hotel it was it was an excellent meal,one of the reasons we went back,won't happen again.

This was an overnight stay for my partner and its hard to find a good hotel that meets his needs as he has mobility problems but from arriving to leaving he was well taken care of his room was perfect ( his words), the staff were friendly and very efficient. Breakfast was excellent and if needing accommodation in this area again, this would be the hotel of choice.

Staff were very friendly on check in, when encountered returning late at night, breakfast and check out. Breakfast was good. Good service and range of food. Able to switch items for veggie alternatives.

The cleanliness of the room. Vacuuming could have been better. There were toe nails on the carpet and bits of cotton/ fluff. Staff were apologetic at check out.

All staff from reception at check in and check out including the kitchen staff and housekeeping were outstanding. Breakfast was self service and plenty of cooked and continental available. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was okay. Hotel overall could do with refurbishment.

Cooked breakfast had to be pre-ordered (and time specified) the night before. Service was okay on first two mornings but very slow on last day; we had to wait almost 45 mins.
