We recently stayed at Wood Rising for a friend’s wedding and it was truly amazing! The stunning location, coupled with Karen’s warm hospitality made it a perfect stay. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, with incredibly comfortable beds and luxurious linens. Not a single amenity or detail was missed! Breakfast was delightful overlooking the woodland (along with cute critters scurrying in the morning sun!). Karen’s hosting was outstanding, she provided excellent recommendations and ensured our stay was perfect. I highly recommend Wood Rising for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat or a base to explore the area. :)

The location was great . It was the best B&B / hotel we have stayed in to date ( we have stayed in lots ) for cleanliness and location as we love to walk . Karen was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed , and came and checked regularly . The rooms were not only spotless but had a great variety of hot drink sachets . Water and milk in the fridge . All I can say is we were blown away by the standard and the attentive host . Breakfast was delivered at the time we agreed in a lovely box . Plenty of food for us and the standard was great . The bonus was the dogs - they were very friendly .

I loved the location! The views were simply stunning and the accommodation had everything you need, and more! Breakfast was plentiful with choices ranging from croissants, granola, yoghurt, rolls, jams, and juices. It was just what we needed for a short break in a tranquil setting. Karen is a great, approachable host and provided me with dairy free milk so I could still enjoy a cuppa. We'd completely recommend staying here.

Breakfast although continental not cooked was plentiful and filling. Well presented and able to consume breakfast outside the room as weather reasonable and covered area, Host Karen was able to provide a local area meal recommendation on arrival as well as other area information. Must mention her very well controlled pet dogs (especially Ora the puppy) which we enjoyed the company of at breakfast time (they were mentioned on the booking information)!

No complaints, although mix up re e mail and not sure how to gain entrance to premises and room but quickly sorted. Think e mail missed re providing arrival time. Overlooked providing mobile phone number which would have helped.

Welcoming and friendly host. The room was finished to a high standard. It was clean with a good choice of drinks with fresh milk daily. Very comfortable bed and relaxing ambient room. Quiet location. Good continental breakfast delivered to your door at an agreed time. Suitable for a disabled person as all on one level was one small step into room. There was a helpful information pack.

TV remote didn't work, so had to keep getting up to turn over. Could do with an update, so better channels. Fridge in the room was noisy so at 1am I ended up switching it off as could not sleep with it on. Other than that lovely

The breakfast was excellent and the location (sitting on the patio under the vines) was especially pleasant. We left it rather late to book a restaurant on a Saturday, so Karen ordered (and collected!!) fish and chips and provided salt, vinegar and a couple of bottles of wine (for 4 of us) to have in our room. What a lovely thing to do.

It would have been nice to have a wardrobe in the room, and the duvet was thicker and warmer than I'm used to.

During our two-night stay at Wood Rising Bed and Breakfast, we were impressed by the warm hospitality. Karen, our host, catered to my wife's vegan dietary needs, ensuring a delightful breakfast experience with orange juice, bread, honey, jams, and more. The clean, spacious bathroom and room with ample storage and a comfortable sofa added to our comfort. The highlight was the terrace, providing a pleasant spot to enjoy breakfast.

The location proved somewhat challenging to find due to the remote location.

Lovely and peaceful. Lovely rooms, very clean. Loved all the sustainable touches. Didn't realise there isn't a breakfast area but the continental breakfast that was brought to us to eat at our rooms was lovely, delivered in a box, lovely fresh bakes crossiants, granola, yogurt, honey etc, orange juice etc. Host lovely and friendly although we only stayed 1 night for a wedding.

We’ve stopped here before and were very happy to stop here again when visiting the area. So helpful. The owner has always gone above and beyond to help us, on each occasion that we’ve stopped.
