We really enjoyed our stay here. In a central location with just a short walk to get into town, retail park and the Registry Office (we were attending a wedding) . The room itself was spotless. Quality bedding. The housekeeping girls knocked quietly on our first morning to ask if everything was alright and if we needed anything. We requested more milk and this was bought up immediately. Wish we’d gone for a drink in the bar as this looked like a nice area but we didn’t have time. We would definitely stay here again.
Our room was at the very top so was very warm although two fans were already running when we arrived. It was an extremely hot weekend though, temperatures were 32 .

Breakfast was good with a wide choice of options for the price. The double room and bathroom were a great size with good working shower and water temperature. Decoration was practical and simple. No overall style but I was expecting that from the pictures on the web site. All very clean with a lot of facilities for ironing etc. Liked the bar area and cosy areas off to the side. Dining area small with just enough space between other tables. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Dinner was served in/ on too many bowls and plates. Could save on table space by reducing them, tables not large, save washing up and food getting cold when spread out. Thought food was a little on the expensive side but tasty and good portions. The volume on TV was a bit too loud at its lowest setting, which may have annoyed other visitors.

It's a family owned business that provides a unique type of experience as compared to those franchised chain hotels. It is particularly special when one wants to try out some homemade food. The room was very clean, and the location is within walking distance to everything such as the railway station, market, banks, restaurants, museums and tourist attractions.
The only thing that could be off putting for some is the fact that it doesn't have a lift, so it is not accessible to some seniors or wheelchair users.

Very clean room, good facilities & pub in good central location. Pub itself was nice inside & restaurant area looked nice but we didn't eat there.
Bed was small & we did not find the mattress very comfortable. We didn't see the £5 charge for car park until we read it just before we arrived, think this is a bit cheeky but assume this helps to offset the Booking.com charges (but they do provide a service to provider). Think parking should be included in room price or maybe free parking given if spend on food / drink at pub over a certain amount.

Off road parking. Felt comfortable there. Decor lovely, especially all the old pictures of local places on the walls. Staff & owners friendly. Breakfasts superb. Room equipped very well, couldn't think of any possible additions to improve on it. Hairdryer, ironing board, iron, tv, tea & coffee making, small fridge, comfortable bed, black out blind, plenty of hangers, everything very good indeed!
No need to enter room daily to make our bed. Save that time for other things!

The lass who greet us was very nice and very helpful had everything you would need. we had fantastic evening meal the veg was cooked to perfection they add garlic to son sausages and made them very tasty.
The breakfast not sure if was different chef for morning but was like ying and yang. The humous tasted off. My eggs tasted watery the spinach and mushrooms seemed overcooked. Other couple had to wait very long for breakfast to come out, Hopefully the chef was having a day off.

Very atmospheric family run hotel. We had a budget double room but it had very good facilities with tea making, fresh milk in the fridge and a good ensuite facility of good size with walk in shower. The owner and family were great, very friendly and happy to chat about the historic town. There was a very nice lounge/snug and we took the evening meal and cooked breakfast which were both a very good standard with lot's of choice ; with parking and a great location we consider the Inn one of the better places we have stayed.

All meals were amazingly delicious, I’m not a foodie at all but was absolutely wowed by the quality and their consistency of cooking and presentation of meals. All meals are homemade with locally sourced ingredients, event the milk! Family run business by friendly people who take pride in their work. I go away a lot on business and this was a happy stay for me, I couldn’t fault anything. Wonderful room and facilities, have booked to go back in 3 weeks time!
Faultless!!!

A hidden gem of a hotel. Lovely place with old school values. I didn,t eat there but the menu looks good. I live an hour from Newark and will definatley be returning on a pleasure trip rather than business. Rooms are well appointed and have all facilities so well done team
No soap or shampoo in rooms. This is not a critisism just a note to visitors to ask for them whren u check in as signage in the rooms says it's their sustainability policy which I totally agree with.

Where to start? I stayed here with my partner as I was attending the Nottinghamshire County show for work, and the Beaumond was only a 10 minute drive away. There is convenient parking around the back of the inn. We were greeting by Carol, who was very informative and friendly. The room was incredibly spacious, very much cottage vibes. Huge en-suite and plenty of storage. We had the superior double room. The food was the star of the show. My partner and I went for the Lamb and Mint pie. A side of green vegetables and a side of honey roasted veg came with it alongside a mammoth portion of mint lamb gravy. The pies are made to order in the kitchen and was packed with filling. It was delicious, filling and incredibly homely, the photo I took really doesn’t do it justice. Same with the dessert. We shared the Chocolate and Whisky cake with ice cream. It was perfect to end our meal. We will 100% be returning, highly recommend!! Paul the owner and Carol were lovely to deal with!
