A beautifully appointed room with spotlessly clean interior & suitably warm in this wet weather. The bed was very comfortable & the size of the room allowed for ease of movement for myself & sister. Convenient parking near to the entrance. A special mention to Becky, our friendly lady @ breakfast, who was very attentive & chatty. Also to a young trainee lady the previous evening - she too was a pleasant person who ensured our questions received a polite response regarding the menu. I did not ‘catch’ her name but I shall when I next visit this lovely Inn.

It was in a lovely quiet location. Katrina and her staff were lovely and very helpful. The room was very clean and had everything you needed. Parking was ample and we were helped with our luggage to the room.

The bed whilst comfortable was very small, the bath in the bedroom has led to a very noticeable damp smell (no shower). I had emailed when I made the booking that we needed a room with a shower but clearly this was missed or ignored. Breakfast was ok, when ordering mushrooms on toast and asking for tomatoes you would expect them to be grilled not just raw sliced!

Everything about the room was perfect, and the restaurant food is incredible. The staff are fantastic, so helpful and friendly! My partner and I stayed in primrose and it was fabulous, and we booked 3 rooms for friends who also had no complaints at all!

The only issue we had was as we were in a room above the pub/restaurant the noise levels were sometimes pretty high! To be expected and not a major issue for us, the only night we were bothered was the evening before we left as we had an early start in the morning. The noise was gone by about 12:30am. Would maybe just advise that the hotel supply disposable ear plugs in the room just in case!

This is a gorgeous place to stay, full of character and charm and lots of little details , that shows care and attention has been taken. The food is great - I had a delicious meal and breakfast. But the staff are incredible! I had ordered a couple of parcels for work and thought I had put the right address down for delivery to the Packhorse. Yep, I messed up and the delivery went to somewhere else! Chris actually went and retrieved the parcels himself for me!! Outstanding customer service - a massive thankyou to him and Gabby for helping me out 👏👏👏

A beautifully presented hotel, pub and restaurant in a lovely little village outside Newmarket. The room we booked (Warren) was gorgeous, with a lovely big bathtub, spotlessly clean and lots of space. Our dinner that night, and breakfast the following morning, was delicious. We went in January, just before returning to work, and it was a lovely place to reset and relax between Christmas and the return to work.

Nothing really. Everything was to our liking, and it was a fantastic stay - we definitely hope to return.

Breakfast was excellent served by friendly helpful staff. Evening meal was also excellent and likewise staff cheerful, welcoming and efficient.

Only possible negative was having a roll top bath in the bedroom and no separate shower. Novel certainly and twenty years ago we would probably have appreciated it more but my wife and I are both in our mid/late seventies and climbing in and out of a deep bath isn’t quite as easy as it used to be 😀. Not the hotel’s fault because I did not tell them of our age when booking and this is not a complaint just a suggestion that it might be a good idea to mention it when a booking is taken because there are a large number of us oldies around now 🤣🤣.

Atmosphere and surroundings was lovely , staff was nice and friendly and helpful . Food was lovely .

I wasn't happy with no shower ( wife loved the bath in the room ) , luckily it was just a over nite stay . Limited types of drinks ( don't do jack Daniels ) and Sunday roast ( no Yorkshire puddings left ) why I don't no with such a big kitchen unless they use per cooked ...... Bed side lamps did not work and only half of toilet roll for the nite .

There was a bath in the bedroom and no shower which we didn't expect or like. The bedside lights didn't work and the en-suite toilet door didn't close properly, also the chain on the blinds broke?! apart from that

We had a very enjoyable stay in an excellent property. Breakfast was good and the lunch we had one day was excellent, the gentleman who served us was very knowlegdeable about the menu and the wine. The bar staff were very helpful and even provided me with a jug of oat milk for the room. Location in a beautiful village with many footpaths was a bonus. We will definitely return.

I found the coffee pod machine in the room difficult to operate.

The room was beautiful, very clean. Staff friendly. Great rural location, perfect if you’re going to the races. Breakfast was amazing, great quality produce and a very generous portion. The bathroom was amazing with a big bath and a separate waterfall shower.

Need milk in the rooms for the teas and coffees and a plug by the dressing table would be great for using hair dryer/ straighteners.
