We've stayed in many b and bs but this is the best by far. A warm welcome and tour of the house by Bobbie. Our room was the biggest that we've ever stayed in. A large double bed, bed side tables, 2 comfortable armchairs and a huge chest of drawers with a TV on top. The wardrobe had ample coat hangers and a fan to use in hot weather. The ensuite was immaculate with bright white towels and toiletries. The room was cleaned and tidied every day. Ideal position to explore the town of Newmarket.

Everything was perfect for us.

I had a great stay at Byerley House. While the breakfast was continental only, it was fresh and satisfying, which was perfect for me. The dining area opened at 7:30 AM, which perfectly fit my work schedule. Another plus was the location—I easily found nice restaurants nearby for dinner. The staff were friendly, and the overall experience was pleasant.

The bed was amazing, the bathroom was large and clean, I loved that the host had little bottles of shampoo and shower gel. The room itself was huge, well lit and had a lovely little kettle with coffee sachets.

The dogs at the property barked until quite late which I personally wasn't affected by but I could imagine it might annoy people who don't own dogs themselves.

I had a brilliant stay in a very comfortable and clean property. It has excellent facilities and is well appointed with all that you need such as an ensuite bathroom with a bath and a separate shower as well as toiletries and tea and coffee making available in the bedroom. The continental breakfast is excellent and a wide range of options is on offer. The property is ideally located near the town centre and close to Newmarket races and the Tattersalls sales ring. I would definitely recommend it.

Bobbie the host/hostess (I am trying to be PC with all the correct use of pronouns etc in today's world) greeted me warmly on arrival and was friendly, approachable and attentive throughout my stay - all that anybody could wish for. The house is beautifully laid out and the walls are adorned with fabulous horse racing pictures. My room was spacious, very clean and very comfortable - again all that anybody could want. It was only a 10-minute walk (at a fairly sedate pace) to the High Street and the gallops, so perfect for my stay and there appeared to be space constantly on the road outside to park a car, although I did not have my own vehicle. Bobbie offered to leave some breakfast items in the kitchen for me as I had to leave on a day trip before breakfast was served (from 7.30am). A nice touch. The continental breakfast on my second morning was plentiful and with a wide variety of fresh produce.

I don't think I have ever rated a property/stay at 10 but Byerley House is a very strong 9. If I had to be hypercritical I was slightly disappointed that a cooked breakfast was not on offer but the range of the continental breakfast was as I previously stated, superb. It would perhaps also have been better to have had a bath sheet in the bathroom as the towels were a little on the small side but that said it may well have been provided had I asked for one. If only it were possible everywhere I stay to have so little to be even slightly negative about.

The property is exactly as advertised and very short walk from the train station. I was welcomed and shown my room, easy check in and ability to come & go with ease. Cleanliness was impeccable, my room was great and overlooked the garden. The continental breakfast was also lovely. I shall stay at Byerley House if I was in the area again.

I liked everything, nothing was unsatisfactory.

The accommodation is located in a quiet area. Pleasant living room and dining room. There is a microwave in the dining room. The room had a kettle for tea and cappuccino. The double bed consists of 1 mattress, which is pleasant. Comfortably large for 2 people. The bathroom has everything you need. The waterpressure is good. The landlady and her son are also very kind and helpful people. The breakfast is plentiful. Cold meats, cheeses, fresh toast, tea, coffee, small jams and Nutella <3 Everything was as described.

I personally missed scrambled eggs for breakfast. But I must add that I did not inquire if it was available or not. Unfortunately we only stayed one night. This is my negative :)

Healthy breakfast with a variety of options available, the room was spacious as was the bathroom, well equipped and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The wifi was fine, free street parking right outside the property.

Nice house, ideally situated close to main street and city centre. Quite and clean, comfortable bedroom and good breakfast. Helpfull hostess for indications (retsaurants, itineraries...).

Lack of shutters (only window curtains)

This was such a great find, the hosts were amazing, very accommodating, kind and friendly. I can’t fault any part of my stay, the room was very comfortable with a bright, clean and fresh on suite bathroom. Breakfast was very enjoyable and customer service was excellent for the whole stay.
