This place was a total surprise - in every good way. The room was huge and immaculately clean, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom big enough to hold a party! Breakfast was one of the best we have had anywhere and in the most beautiful surroundings, served by people genuinely proud to work where they do. A total highlight of a two week trip
Absolutely nothing (apart from a little bit more of a clue about how to arrive as it was a bit disconcerting to arrive to closed gates and no open door anywhere. All sorted extremely quickly by a very short phone call so no problem at all)

We had a fabulous one night stay. The room was very grand with secure parking and an excellent breakfast - plentiful with lots of choice. I opted for eggs royale and my husband had the full English - we didn’t need lunch! We spent a long time admiring the many artworks along the corridor to the breakfast room especially the Paul Benney portrait of the late Queen with one of her favourite horses.
The building is undergoing some repairs but that is to be expected for a structure dating back to the 1770s and it did not hinder our enjoyment in any way.

Lovely well appointed and located room, which was on the ground floor with doors opening onto the lawned garden area, providing a tranquil spot. Great location with plenty of parking. Breakfast was a calm, quiet affair with friendly, helpful, and very attentive staff.
We knew there was no regular evening dining due to it being members club unless you were there during one of their dining dates. This was not a problem as there were plenty of resteraunts very close by and we had a nice meal at Unico Italian resteraunt. In fact, the walk to the main gates is further than the reseraunt, so it is very easy.. Be aware you will need to dress appropriately for breakfast,

This was our second stay here, on this occasion we upgraded to the Deluxe Double room with comes with a bathroom that was just as big as the bedroom. The bed is big and comfy with nicely pressed and fresh bed covers. A tray with a selection of teas and coffee were available, along with a couple of small bottles of water. There is a safe in the wardrobe for those who like a bit of security with their items. The bathroom has underfloor heating, the bath is quite wide and there is a separate shower so all bases covered there. There are two sinks so you can pile up your stuff on one side and your partner can have the other half.. The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. We had breakfast included in our booking, the breakfast room is large and you will be waited on by pleasant staff who will take your order from the menu. There is so much history in the halls of this building, with paintings and photographs everywhere. Worth staying here alone just to see them.
The cover over the base of the bed could do with replacing as it is now picking up a bit of grime from foot wear. The light switches for the bathroom also need looking at as they were playing up a bit. The breakfast room was very chilly on the second morning of our stay, I couldn't see any radiators and they just had the one electric heater running which had no chance in heating up so much space.

We loved staying at the Jockey Club Rooms, such a beautiful property. Our deluxe double room with private bathroom was very spacious and comfortable with lovely decor. The breakfast room was beautiful and you felt like you were fine dining as the tables were dressed with fine china and silverware. There was a good selection of cold and hot options for breakfast and the cooked breakfast was very yummy. We found the staff to be very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. All in a wonderful property to stay at if you're in the Newmarket area.
Nothing, could not fault this property.

The Jockey Club is a lovely building in the heart of Newmarket. Very convenient for local services and restaurants - Montaz being an exceptional Indian restaurant and the best dining option in the town by far. Location was as good as it gets for Newmarket. Cambridge is 30 mins drive, and there is much to see within a short distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent! It is worth noting the is is a private members club, and as such there is a dress code and certain rules that are worth noting prior to the visit, although they were not too demanding! The overall atmosphere was great!

A remarkable building and exceptional accommodation situated in an oasis of calm in the middle of Newmarket. We stay in lots of hotels every year and this is one we shall remember for a long time. Our suite was large and furnished in a very impressive way. The quality of everything was excellent. Huge amount of convenient parking and a real breakfast cooked to order and served professionally. The staff were all welcoming and friendly as well as offering a standard of care not often found now.

Oozing old world charm, the Jockey Club is a remarkable glimpse of past times. The obvious desire of the staff that we enjoyed our stay, the service and the standard of the breakfast, were all guaranteed to make us want to return.
As there was a private function, all of the public rooms, including the outdoor seating areas, lounges and bar were closed. Our party had nowhere to go to relax and socialise, which was very inconvenient as we were only staying for one night, and were looking forward to our short ‘get together’.

No complaints. End to end superb service and ambience. Room and breakfast exceptionally good. The bar in the rooms is a good addition. Tom Jones was superb. Quiet, high quality and quintessential. I could say so much more but I will leave you to experience it yourself. Our favourite bolt hole.
The dress code wasn’t adhered to. A couple joined us briefly in the bar and then in the breakfast room. They both had T shirts on with slogans and adverts. Slightly disappointed that the code was not adhered to and it was not challenged or addressed. Perhaps the dress code should be more evident upon booking. Your dress code makes you very unique and your guests make a special effort to maintain your standards.

Our weekend stay was absolutely superb. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. On arrival, Tara and Gillian at reception ensured a smooth welcome which set the tone for the next 2 days. We loved the building history and decor; our room was faultless - large, airy & spotlessly clean! Breakfast was at the same level as all other aspects - outstanding. Tom, a very knowledgeable and friendly guy, was especially helpful during our visit. Overall, an experience we will definitely look to repeat!
