Bearslake Inn is stunning and the surrounding gardens are so pretty with a little stream running through. Our room was so clean and welcoming and very warm (much needed after a long rainy car ride). We took our little dog and they had a little basket of bits for him which was a lovely touch. The bar/restaurant was brilliant. We had the most delicious dinner and highly recommend the truffle fries!!! The staff were fantastic and super friendly and made us feel right at home. We can’t wait to go back and explore the area more and stay again! Thank you so much to the team for making everything so special!

Breakfast was simply a croissant(warm) and coffee but was very good. The location was superb and I loved the garden room where I stayed. I thought it an especially nice touch to have a basket with biscuits and a bowl for the dog. Also the selection of teas plus hot chocolate was definitely a bonus.

Because I had all the dog's stuff with me plus a heavy suitcase, I had to make several journeys to the garden room and would have appreciated an offer of help to carry things. On my way out someone did offer to carry my case. I could have asked I suppose but that is my only complaint, otherwise excellent.

I liked the hamper breakfast and the choice of goods.The rooms I stayed in were warm, comfortable and pleasingly decorated and furnished. The staff were welcoming and helpful. This beautiful thatched Inn is truly a dog friendly place to stay with walks going out onto the moor, or following the cycle trail. There are many interesting places to explore with many more woodland or moorland walks nearby. I ate in the restaurant each evening and although a small menu the food was good. There was even a small bag of treats for the dogs at the table! I would love to stay again.

The bedside lighting in the Garden room was not bright enough to read by.

The location was perfect., quiet and hiking just in front of the door. The garden room was lovely, clean and we appreciated the tea, cookies, coffee and hot chocolate very much. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The garden is beautiful. Lots of space and enough chairs and tables to sit and relax. The food in the pub was really nice and the breakfast hamper perfect. We hope to be back soon.

It didn’t bother us, but the internet connection in the room was patchy. Right outside it was very good.

I didn't have breakfast, but my daughter and her family liked the breakfast hampers. This is the third time I have stayed at the Bearslake Inn and I really think it is a well run, picturesque hotel with delightful, friendly staff and good facilities.

It was a chilly night and consequently on this occasion it took me a while to get warm in the night. I would have loved the option of a sit-down not breakfast, though I quite understand the difficulties and cost implications for establishments offering this.

Gorgeous setting and tastefully designed Inn. Beautifully presented room, lots of very thoughtful touches. Excellent breakfast options for the hamper delivery, fabulous! Excellent food served in the restaurant. Great gluten free options and not made to feel awkward in any way. Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Super staff who were really friendly, attentive and took pride in their work. Not made to feel awkward in any way in relation to food intolerances, which was a nightlight for me. Our dog was made to feel welcome with a little bag of treats at the table. We will definitely return again soon. Loved every minute of our stay. Thank you!

Nothing to dislike. We loved it all!

The place is very pretty and peaceful The room was cute and well equipped. We were warned that there was no sound insulation to the room above and the floorboards might creak. Actually the family upstairs were pretty quiet (and slept in as well) so it wasn't really a problem. The breakfast hamper is a really nice touch, and there's plenty of it. We were in transit and this was a really convenient and pleasant stop off point for us. Dinner was excellent in a lovely dining room.

There was no heating option in the room. It was August so maybe not needed most of the time, but it had been a cool day and the room was a little chilly. A small heater would have been welcome. Dinner was lovely, but service seemed a bit rushed. Dropping the pace a little would have been nice (Service was friendly and excellent though) Banging my head the low beams as we were leaving. I though I'd found all the beams but got caught out by the last one! (There are loads of signs, I was just over-confident by that time)

Staff, Simon and his team were very welcoming and friendly. Room was a great size, views are lovely. The place has a great aura about it. The stream is relaxing. The food is outstanding. Just becareful if your tall not to bang your head, ceilings and beams are low in parts. Other than that. Brilliant 👏 pet friendly room too and the added touch of dog biscuits was great. The selection of teas and coffee were fab I had to try them and the hot chocolate was lovely.

All good really., would be nice to have a more open bar area so after your meal you could go to the bar and relax more casually but I understand the tables are limited there and reserved, there may be another area I didn't see. But certainly wouldn't put me off and would highly recommend this place. For anyone struggling with steps, there are a few leading to the bedrooms but there are rails to grab and steady you.

Great location and an absolutely amazing outside space with deck chairs available for guests. The breakfast basket was lovely, breakfast in bed is a lovely way to start the day. Extremely dog friendly throughout. Great staff, we could not fault any of them.

The shower was slightly dated and the hot water took quite a while to filter through but I am being picky.

We stayed here with family en route to Bristol airport. Dinner at the hotel was tasty though a little pricey. The building itself has lots of charm, with a lovely garden, and the rooms were comfortable. The staff were very friendly.

The breakfast, or lack of! We found the lack of a cooked breakfast a real miss and the breakfast hamper was meagre and over priced (£25 for two for basically two teabags, croissants and cereal. ) The hotel is not good value compared to other hostelries we have stayed in in the area.
