the hotel was ideally located for my work, I have stayed here before when the previous owners were not offering evening meals. Fortunately food is available closeby. However under the new owners, there are visible improvements to dining areas and the menu with specials and well cooked breakfasts. The rooms are reasonably sized although I have only really stayed in the same room on each occasion.

The rooms are a little dated and the shower cubicle in the ensuite has a very small door, the bathroom itself could easily take a bigger shower with a larger entrance. The TV is quite small but works perfectly even in a storm. Rooms are next on the list of renovations

The staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed and were very attentive. The breakfast was really good, the service excellent and the toast kept on coming! The location of the hotel was ideal for our needs and the rooms were clean.

The hotel is in need of a refurbishment as it’s old and tired looking. The bed was not the most comfortable and there was a noisy aircon vent just below our window (we shut the window to cut down the noise). Floors in the bedroom and the corridor outside our room were very creaky so this disturbed us when people walked by (and we were worried about disturbing others as we moved about our room in the night).

My daughter and family live close by so was very handy, ( just accross the railway bridge ). Only had breakfast on one morning, but it was very good. We will come and stay again another day. We will see how much the price will change after the refurbashing

Everything was fine. Only one thing.The carpark could do with leveling out to stop the big puddles, I can see this being a problem in the winter, ice etc.

The staff are lovely, the food and service were excellent, met the NEW owner who told us of their plans for refurbishment.The room was a lovely size, nice big, comfortable beds.

The communal areas are a little tired and our room was incredibly hot despite the big fan that's provided. However, the owner has stated there is a plan to fix these issues There is no lift either so accessibility was an issue.

Great staff location and just the general relaxed friendly atmosphere of the hotel. Room comfortable and spacious for my needs despite the warm weather.. Great restaurant, food menu and the location ideal for my needs again.. Restaurant is great for a meal out in its own right.

Didn't lack any of the mod cons but a few things like usb charging from the wall sockets and maybe a better TV system would just freshen up the room

The staff members were particularly friendly and helpful. For example, I needed an extension cable to allow me to run my CPAP machine. It was sorted out in no time. We took advantage of the meal offer that evening, which represented excellent value and the quality of the steaks was superb!! I’ve paid a lot more, for much more inferior products and cooking.

I would have appreciated a lift to get to the bedrooms, mainly on arrival and when checking out (carrying bags etc).

Breakfast good. Wonderful poached eggs - just right! Good porridge. Comfy bed. Nice room. Staff were lovely and so helpful.

Aware that the room needed refurbishjng and decorating but it was nothing bad, just in need of decoration in places. Wallpaper in bsthroom peeling off in places. Road outside was very noisy.

Well located, clean rooms , great staff . And really good food. John the manager was brilliant. Super helpful , we were a bit late to check on the first night and we were going to miss the kitchen closing , he sent us a menu , took our order over the phone and our meal was on the table as we arrived! Superb service 😊

The shower in our family room 12 was a bit weak on the water pressure.

It is good to see that the new owners are starting to upgrade the facilities generally, and in particular the external visual aspects of the hotel, after so many years of neglect. The staff clearly are much happier than previous visits, so well done all…..

It would be lovely to see a really nice lounge style area for guests to relax in and have a nice evening drink etc

Great breakfast and a fabulous meal from the menu, staff can't do enough to help you, ,rooms are very clean, but dated, I know new owners so they are improving as they go along, just had new roof and painted outside, our bathroom had been modernised so was lovely bedroom needs updating
