We've stayed at this lovely old, characterful hotel several times in recent years: it's in a stunning location in rolling countryside with breath-taking sea views and easy access to Chesil Beach. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful - special recognition to Millie the manager who's attention to detail and care to ensure that all aspects of our stay were as enjoyable and relaxing as possible was much appreciated. The bedrooms are comfortable, well-appointed and spotlessly clean; the breakfast has always been reliably good, however the revelation this time was the outstanding quality of the restaurant food under new chef Tom, served in the cosy cellar bar. We can't wait to come back next year and would highly recommend.

Gorgeous location & the house had lots of character. Very comfortable bed & lovely breakfast.
We booked a sea view room & didn't realise we were in the attic with a small window not at eye level. We would have liked to have eaten in the restaurant in the evening but found the prices a little high for residents.

The setting is wonderful, high above Chesil Beach and surrounded by farmland. The hotel is old and very attractive. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and made us and our two dogs very welcome. Our room was comfortable and clean. The food was very good.
There was a slight feeling of disorganisation; waiting staff took a while to take orders and clear plates and our food took a fair time to arrive . At breakfast on the second day we had to ask twice for toast. We're not sure if it was a case of too few people or just general mild inefficiency. When we booked through your app, the info did not include any details about pets, although it was listed as a pet-friendly hotel. We submitted a request, to which we had no response. I had to phone the hotel to ask about this. The person I spoke to did not make it clear that the £20 per night charge was per dog - which we considered to be excessive - but when we challenged this on checkout, it may have adjusted. However, we did enjoy our stay despite these issues.

Fabulous few days away in a beautiful location close to a huge beach along with our dog too who also enjoyed his mini break! We booked a room with a sea view and it really did have a great view of the sea. The staff were amazing; friendly, helpful and attentive. Millie, the Hotel Manager, was lovely and so accommodating especially when needed to book an extra night’s stay over a busy weekend, which we of course didn’t complain about 😉 Hotel has a small cozy bar and restaurant which we certainly made the most of. Food was fabulous both breakie and evening meals. We absolutely cannot fault the service and hope we get to stay again in the not too distant future. Thank you one and all 🥰 xxx

First time at the Manor House my friend and I were exceptionally pleased with the staff and our room very lovely place and would certainly book again the fire near the bar made it so snug and comfortable. We didn’t sample the restaurant meals but what was coming out for other customers looked really nice. The staff were very happy to help and nice and chatty. Very pleasant.
The only thing I would like is milk in the rooms rather than having to go to the corridor fridge. The little milks you used to have in hotels would probably be more suitable. But otherwise can’t thought anything l

Breakfast was excellent with a good varied menu and was well cooked. It was well served by friendly hard working staff. The whole breakfast experience set us up for the day. 8.30 for breakfast is a very civilised time for people on holiday.
The decor is tired, but this did not diminish the enjoyment of our stay. A good hotel can make a holiday and The Manor House certainly made ours. Also when we arrived we were not shown where the breakfast room or lounge was. As the hotel building is quite old, It would also be nice if there was a written potted history of the premises. A minor point. Since there was 2 of us, 2 chairs in the bedroom would have been nice.

Excellent location and hotel grounds and garden very well kept. Warm welcome on arrival. Room/ bathroom very clean and tidy with everything working. Tea, coffee, biscuits and water provided. Breakfast nicely cooked with good selection.Whilst portions a little on the small size, toast, pastries, yoghurt and fruit more than made up for this. Fish and chips for dinner very good. Would stay again
A bit of a wait for service during busy periods in bar/restaurant. Maybe more staff required at these times.
