Lovely old building on a beautiful street. Staff were very kind and helpful, was fairly unique with room names associated with guest names. These were then used for where you sat at breakfast. They had a self service bar with reasonable prices (we didn't use but was a good option to have). Was very near lots of cafés and pubs and little local shops.

For our room on the top floor, the shower was very difficult to use as a sloping ceiling and the taps were down the sloped end. The shower chord didn't reach the other side so you had to squat down and avoid hitting your head and spilling the water out of the bath. Also the water pressure/heat would change throughout use.

This hotel is a little gem. There is nothing I can write that is anything but good! Breakfast is just superb. Honesty bar makes you feel you're at home. Staff are the best. The location is perfect in one of the prettiest streets in Rye. Rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable with lovely linen and fluffy towels. The owners Chris and Doris and their staff were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. There is also a car park (a five minute walk away) which was an unexpected bonus. A perfect hotel in an ideal location to explore Rye and the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

There is nothing not to like!

We are really amazed by how wonderful the place was. We were greeted by a lovely staff member and were allowed to drop off our bags, as our room wasn't ready yet. Coming back, we were escorted to our room which was fantastic, and exceptionally clean. The common areas are very serene and beautiful and the most astonishing fact was that we were told that we have free access to the bar area and allowed to pour any drink, as long as we write down what we've had! Such a nice and trusting touch. Finally, breakfast was wonderful and staff were very accommodating as well, allowing for changes on the menu. Would definitely come back again!

What a treasure Jeake's House is. Located on historic Mermaid Street and close to all the fabulous bars and restaurants. The history of the house is very interesting. The decor and layout of the property is stunning. The owners and staff are all lovely and very helpful. The breakfasts are first class. We liked the honesty bar where you served yourself. I can't speak more highly about this marvelous guest house.

Location was great. Building had a lot of character and the decor was in keeping with the old building, I loved it. Staff were very helpful. Place was very clean. Handy to have extra milk for tea at the bar. The home made granola for breakfast was amazing. Please make sure to try it. Breakfast was delicious. I will definitely stay again and was sad to leave. I really felt at home here. I highly recommend. ....furthermore, the rumours are true...the Aitken suite is haunted by Aitken's ghost. He made us feel very welcome :)

TV in room didn't work at all. WiFi on TV wouldn't connect and therefore the channels or internet couldn't be used at all. Some people like to have TV on for company and to minimise sound from neighbouring rooms. We could hear the people in the next room clearly and could hear their conversation word-for-word. I am sure they could hear me too, so it would have been nice to be able to put the TV on for sound at least and to muffle the neighbours sounds. Some people may also like to watch the TV. Staff member tried to help but couldn't.

I had a table specially reserved for me at a designated time, which I arranged during check-in. The breakfast featured a light buffet offering drinks, yogurt, and fruit salad, along with freshly prepared hot dishes served directly to the table, including various egg preparations and a full English breakfast. Tea and coffee were also available. It is an old Quaker house at the heart of Rye.

The house is an old historic property which is well maintained, but it may be inaccessible for a person with accessibility needs. There is no air conditioning in the room.

Good choice for breakfast. Bed comfortable. Glad to have a fan provided in the heat. Nice view from bedroom. Lovely peaceful location. Very clean. Nice to have the option to use the honesty bar and to help ourselves to milk from the fridge. The location was perfect for seeing Rye.

It would have been nice to have the option to turn the towel rail off in the bathroom for the Lorelei room, especially in the hot weather but it was nice to have a blind to pull down to keep the hot sun out!

Great location in a picture perfect street, right in the centre of beautiful Rye, close to the many delightful pubs, restaurants and sights. The owner and staff were superb throughout. Extremely friendly, attentive and professional. Parking is difficult in Rye but arrangements were straightforward. Simply park up outside, unload and then move the car to a nearby private car park at a cost of £3 per day. Fantastic! Outstanding breakfast each morning, spotless, comfortable room in a quaint, characterful building, what's not to like? We stay in many small hotels and Jeakes House is up there with the best. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay.

It was a perfect stay!

Breakfast - excellent choice available. Granola, jam and marmalade - homemade and tasty. Staff - cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Bed - very comfortable. Location - quiet, as was the hotel. The piano room and bar areas were excellent.

Handles on staircases could be more comfortable to hold. The brass ones were not as good as the ones painted black. Having recently had a hip operation security on the steep staircases was important. Several other guests had had similar operations.

The hotel is lovely. Great facilities, very comfortable bedrooms and a delicious breakfast every morning. It has a fantastic location, close to restaurants, shops, and the main attractions of Rye. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Car parking is available (for a small daily fee), just a short walk from the hotel, which is really useful, and you can park up outside the hotel to unload/load your car.

We had no issues personally, but it should be noted that there are lots of stairs in the hotel, with some being quite narrow and difficult to manoeuvre, which might not be suitable for all guests.
