We are really amazed by how wonderful the place was. We were greeted by a lovely staff member and were allowed to drop off our bags, as our room wasn't ready yet. Coming back, we were escorted to our room which was fantastic, and exceptionally clean. The common areas are very serene and beautiful and the most astonishing fact was that we were told that we have free access to the bar area and allowed to pour any drink, as long as we write down what we've had! Such a nice and trusting touch. Finally, breakfast was wonderful and staff were very accommodating as well, allowing for changes on the menu. Would definitely come back again!
Everything was perfect, no complaints whatsoever!

Great location in a picture perfect street, right in the centre of beautiful Rye, close to the many delightful pubs, restaurants and sights. The owner and staff were superb throughout. Extremely friendly, attentive and professional. Parking is difficult in Rye but arrangements were straightforward. Simply park up outside, unload and then move the car to a nearby private car park at a cost of £3 per day. Fantastic! Outstanding breakfast each morning, spotless, comfortable room in a quaint, characterful building, what's not to like? We stay in many small hotels and Jeakes House is up there with the best. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay.
It was a perfect stay!

The hotel is lovely. Great facilities, very comfortable bedrooms and a delicious breakfast every morning. It has a fantastic location, close to restaurants, shops, and the main attractions of Rye. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Car parking is available (for a small daily fee), just a short walk from the hotel, which is really useful, and you can park up outside the hotel to unload/load your car.
We had no issues personally, but it should be noted that there are lots of stairs in the hotel, with some being quite narrow and difficult to manoeuvre, which might not be suitable for all guests.

Perfectly located on the beautiful, historic Mermaid Street, Jeakes House is a picturesque gem of a hotel with an intimate atmosphere. The public spaces, which includes a small bar and a truly lovely breakfast room, are maintained to the highest standards. All staff are friendly and welcoming and provide a very high standard of service at all times. It was also fascinating and interesting to talk with the delightful owner as she greeted guests ar breakfast. Our room was simply lovely with a four-poster bed and roll-top bath and a wonderful view over Mermaid Street.
There was nothing we did not like. We highly recommend Jeakes House for that special stay in Rye.

Jeakes House oozes charm in every pore. It is a magnificent old house full of stories and history. If you are looking for a spanking new, all mod-cons, sterile, boring and run of the mill modern accommodation, then this may not be for you. On the other hand, if you're looking for a wonderful experience, a memory to cherish and a lovely story to tell, then stay at Jeakes House. We're looking forwad to our next visit.
Everything was excellent. The parking was very good but a bit tricky to find in Rye's maze of tiny streets. But the locked gate gave as reassurance regarding the safety of our vehicle and we were happy with the arrangement. There's no lift at Jeakes House, so bear that in mind.

Beautiful B&B with some wonderful authentic old English touches. Staff great, breakfast delicious, love the Honesty Bar & great to have private parking available at a very reasonable £3 a day. Perfect central location & some fantastic restaurants in Rye. We will be visiting again.
Lovely room (Radclyffe Hall), but the ensuite is tiny, literally in a wardrobe. Wouldn't suit anyone particularly wide or tall!! So make sure to choose your room when booking. Other than that, amazing hotel, loved, loved, loved it 😍

the breakfast was amazing they will let u customize! the room was beautiful and we had the best view of the cute garden and the town. the staff was very friendly, and the location was perfect. about 10 mins walk from everything. we loved our stay so much!!!
the bed we stayed in was a little old and had a weird indent and the pillows drastically need to be updated they were very flat. the shower had very hot water but it would go in and out.

Absolutely loved this place. The room was clean and comfortable, staff were all super friendly and the decor downstairs in the dining room and lounges was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and we loved the honesty bar which was very reasonable and extremely well stocked. Rye itself is a fascinating place to visit and stay, and Jeakes House is on the same little street as the famous Mermaid Inn which did fabulous food.
The bed for me was a bit soft, and the shower may be difficult for anyone over 6ft to use.

The hotel is situated on a cobbled street. If you arrive by car, you can unload your bags and check in before driving your car round to their car park (a few minutes walk away). The rooms are luxurious and the breakfast is amazing. All the staff we met were friendly and provided a great service. It was our second visit and we'll be back again.
Nothing.

Location was central in old part of town enabling on-foot site seeing, plus access to restaurants. The decor of Jeakes was to a very high standard & the use of an honesty bar was very convenient. Breakfast choice was very good both with the buffet & the cooked items. Cooked items choice was extensive and were fresh & appetising.
Enclosed shower was small & room would have benefitted with a a second chair - but would have been difficult as room was small due to age of building.
