It was in a good location and had lots of historical character. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Originally we were given a room off the courtyard which was very dark and noisy S some building work was going on very door. We asked to be moved - which we were. Not sure why they put us there originally though due to work being carried out. None of the TVs are working in the hotel and the staff were a bit vague about the reason. It would have been good to know in advance and gave the option to bring a laptop. After a full day exploring I quite enjoy collapsing with a movie on a comfy bed. Seems daft having large wall mounted TVs that don’t work!

Perfect location. Reception staff were friendly and we had been given a room with a shower as requested.

It wasn’t that clean. Hair in the basin, hair in the shower and I moved the telephone in the room and loads of dust. Huge cobwebs behind bathroom door and loads of dust all over chest of drawers. I asked the barmen what gin cocktail he recommended and silence. He was obviously training and followed the menu for the cocktail I’d asked for. He missed off the olive and put the wrong herb in. He should have been supervised. Breakfast service very good and breakfast good.

The location is perfect. The design is so gorgeous and really sets it a part from other hotels and restaurants in the area. It feels like a special stay so was perfect for my boyfriend’s 30th. The staff when asked for help were really friendly and attentive and the food is exceptional.

This is me really nit picking. None of this stuff would stop me from staying again. The wifi isnt good and for a luxury hotel and the price point this shouldn’t be an issue. We also felt that the attention to detail when doing a turn down of the room could have been just the tiniest bit better. Everything is super super clean and perfect in that respect but There wasn’t enough loo roll and we could have done with more water. The bar was meant to close at half 10 but ended up closing earlier because I think they didn’t have the staff. Like I said at the beginning really small things that if we had them would have made it a 10/10 experience rather than an 8/10.

We loved this stylish hotel, it was full of life and the interiors were lovely. The staff were very welcoming from reception to the restaurant. We were upgraded which was a treat to a junior suite. Lots of space. So centrally located and easy to get around the town to see all the sights. We would stay again.

Not wanting to complain as we were upgraded the only downside on the room were quite a small bed and would have preferred a super king (suite are advertised as having super kings) and we were right next to the lift and that was more noisy than expected. The pigeon poo outside the entrance door into the room should have been cleaned away. The restaurant was a lovely space but felt that if you were going to eat there more than 1 night the menu was not varied enough.

Our room (21) was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. Our bathroom was spacious with a roll top bath as well as a shower. We had breakfast both mornings and although there wasn't a huge range of choice it was very nice. We had dinner one night which was also good and the courtyard was a lovely place for an early evening drink.

The staff at reception could do with being a bit more engaged... Eye contact, a smile and "I'll be with you in a minute" would go a long way! The stairs needed vacuuming and it made the hotel feel a little unkempt.

We had the cosy room which I was worried the bed might be small, but it had plenty of room. Great powerful shower, plenty of room to get ready. Room was very calm and away from the restaurant. We were there during a wedding, but we only heard it at dinner.

There wasn't much to dislike, but I would probably have made breakfast a bit less chaotic. You could help yourself to plenty of juice, fruit salad, cereal, toast and croissant but for some reason you had to keep asking for tea. I think there could've easily been self-pour options to free up the staff. The cooked breakfast we chose was lovely. You won't go hungry.

Gorgeous hotel, with beautiful decor throughout. The location could not be more central. The breakfast was great, with a good range of menu options. Our room was lovely, the bed was comfortable and the linens, towels and robes very high quality. We loved the Verden toiletries offered.

We asked for a quiet room and were recommended a courtyard room. However, on arrival we realised that these rooms are on the ground floor with windows directly onto the street, and next to the bar, and have the smoking area right outside the room door. These rooms should be avoided. We complained and the manager Sergio upgraded us to a second floor room in the main building - which was very quiet and shielded from the restaurant areas.

Nice hotel friendly staff , comfortable bed .well situated . Best coffee machine I have ever used , was very worried when I was pointed to the coffee machine for my flat white but it was excellent perhaps not café Nero but not far off .Great granola and Greek yogurt.

only one person at reception , so when you are shown to your room the receptionist leaves his post and a cue builds. Very noisy room looking out over the high street. Better bread at breakfast needed (very cheap whole meal /white) , I felt the room we had was overpriced £315.00 very small , dimly lit , noisy .

The George In Rye Rye, United Kingdom Spoiled at The George November 2024 My experience was stellar, from beginning to end. The front of house staff were kind, smily, and very helpful showing me to my room. I stayed in #37, and it was perfect for me. My little oasis included a huge comfy bed, two chill out chairs with sweet views out the window, and a sunken bathroom with a spacious tub and yummy shower with great water pressure. All immaculately cleaned when I arrived. This was a weekend trip to replace, recharge, and enjoy bonfire night. All went better than expected! So fun! I was also spoiled by the restaurant staff when I arrived by having the George cheeseburger for a late lunch meal, and looked forward to the eggs Benedict for breakfast. I was seated immediately, and treated very well by the highest of customer service standards. Thanks again for making great memories, a well needed rest, and a luxury experience. Anyone who doesn’t see the charm and the excellence in this hotel, and their staff, is either blind or arrogant. I look forward to bringing my grown children back with me next time.

The staff go above and beyond to cater to guests needs. I had brought my dog with me (on the basis it was pet friendly hotel on Booking.com). However, on arrival I was told that I needed to request a dog friendly room and paid an additional charge. The hotel was very busy as there was a wedding the next day. However, the manager took the time to resolve the issue and move me to a room meaning I could stay the night with my dog. Throughout the rest of my stay the staff were amazing and created a lovely atmosphere.
