It was a good location for walking and exploring the area. Close to Stow, and wasn’t too busy. The pub has character, plenty of parking, very good food and very dog friendly. The owners have provided details of local walks from the pub, tried and tested. Having a residents only lounge is an extra that not a lot of places offer. The staff were friendly attentive. We would like to thank the house keeper Tracy, how goes the extra mile especially at breakfast we’re nothing is too much trouble.

The staff were exemplary. Catered to your every need. Especially the two ladies during breakfasts and the young gentleman behind the bar. During one dinner, I requested no sesame seeds and the waiter came back and advised me that the chicken seasoning had used sesame oil. Fantastic attention to detail. If you’re eating dinner they will give you the choice of table for breakfast, which is another lovely touch and makes you feel very looked after. It happened to us both nights. I had just asked if the fire would be on and they said they don’t put it on in the morning. Well, guess what, came down to breakfast and the waitress had put the fire on for us, because of me enquiring about it at dinner. The food, well fabulous, is all I can say. I had steak both nights, tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. They happily alter breakfast for you, I have to recommend the advocado, smoked salmon on sourdough bread. Seriously the sourdough was amazing !!! The guest snug has everything you need and a great play to chill, read and play games. The chairs by the fire were a firm favourite of mine tbh. I’m kind of glad I didn’t get to meet ‘Charlie’ but that won’t stop us from returning very soon.

Can’t find anything I didn’t like. But if I had to find anything, it would be to ensure that the bedroom and bathroom are warmed up well in advance of guests arriving. Granted it was such a cold evening when we arrived but found it difficult to warm up.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived with rather large suitcases (since we were travelling for more than 10 days) and one of our rooms was on the first floor. The male staff doing our check-in also gave us a hand in carrying both suitcases up to our room. We also highly appreciate the great hospitability extended by the female staff serving our breakfast. She was very thoughtful and offered us various things, making sure we were well looked after. She also struck interesting conversations with us, telling us more about the B&B and how they were preparing for Christmas. Another plus is the Nespresso machine in our rooms. Most of the B&B we visited offered instant coffee in the room.

One part of our room was rather dark - where the tea and coffee machine were. Could have added an extra lamp.

This Inn is tucked away in a small hamlet and in an ideal spot to visit all areas of the Cotswolds. We only ate breakfast, but could see the evening meals looked delicious and we heard good reviews of the meals. We could see how welcome pets were when staying and we enjoyed the welcome treats in the room. Breakfast is ordered the previous night and was good. The staff were friendly, particularly the breakfast lady who was happy to give tips and suggestions for where to visit. The Inn was very cosy for an Autumnal weekend break.

Nothing really. We had a brief shower issue, which was rectified the moment we reported it

The food was very good. We had dinner on one evening and the breakfasts were also very good. The location is also very nice

We had the twin room in the annex which lacked the charm of the actual pub. Beds were only ok. Also, the bathroom light in the room below was connected to a fan that unless turned off made a real noise in our room. We understand that this is a legal requirement but when mentioned to the staff we were told that we had to speak to the guests ourselves to ask them to ensure they turned it off. We did this and they were great about it but thought perhaps the staff could've explained to them instead. Also our floor creaked a lot which was very disturbing for the people below.

A very quaint pub , very cosy very clean , like a picture postcard. Staff are very welcoming and friendly

The bathroom was very small , it was very hard to get through the door without squeezing again the sink and toilet , there was an led light on the radiator which when it's dark is very bright and disturbs sleep, The menu doesn't cater for everyone adding a chicken dish would be good not everyone eats red meat or fish . There is a 12% surcharge on food and drink if you choose to dine there which we found a little expensive , being able to leave a tip depending on service would be better . They provide an ironing board and iron but in our room there wasn't room to plug it in

Lovely and cosy room, it felt private and secluded despite having other guests. Very spacious, clean and up to a high standard. The room has everything you need in it and more including a hamper with snacks and a coffee machine.

The TV didn't work I assume it is because of the location, luckily we bought a laptop as we thought the TV signal may be bad. The pub menu was quite limited with the main options steak or seafood, not traditional pub food so just be aware however this was not an issue for myself. The poached eggs in the morning were boiled eggs not poached eggs - yolk wasn't runny. These are only small areas to help the business improve we had a great stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

Staff very welcoming and helpful. Food (dinner and breakfast) excellent. Enjoyed local walks. Plenty of parking. Would be happy to stay again, and very likely to come back for a meal as we don't live very far away. Gluten free requirements catered for knowledgeably - thank you.

Bathroom a bit tight for space, but excellent shower and nice toiletries, and very clean. Can hear some noise from bar early evening, but it didn't disturb us at that time of day and was very quiet by late evening when we got back to room after dinner.

The Breakfast - We chose Full English, Cereal and Toast which set us up for the day. It was delicious, well presented and the service and attention to us was excellent. Tracy worked extremely hard throughout our stay to ensure we had everything we needed and provided additional local area information and advice. She was a real asset to the Horse and Groom experience. The Room - A welcome basket was provided, with several goodies, giving a nice touch. Displayed all the quirkiness you would expect for a building of this age, which added to the charm of the stay. It was cleaned every day and refreshments were replaced. The attentiveness of the staff was commendable.

Our room was situated above the bar area, so in an evening we could hear some noise. This stopped every evening at about 10pm however, so it didn't disturb us getting a good nights sleep.

Bed was very comfy and everything was spot clean. Staff was very smiling and nice, and offered to help with my bag. The location is very charming and the decor in the Inn was perfect for a British escapade. I liked the little pantry that offers British products. Wifi connection fast and stable and the heating in the room was efficient and quiet (and much appreciated). Toiletries were of quality. A lot of information about the Cotswolds on display - very useful.

The room was a little bit small and we could hear the noise from the corridor of guests coming in late. I also felt a little bit pushed to leave, both my room and the dining area because the establishment closes on Sundays at 4pm. But everybody was very polite and nice. Would have liked to get a bag for what I bought in the pantry... The outdoor area was disappointing (very small) as compared to the pictures but had a nice walk outside in the village.
