Home from home. Everything was there that was needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Lack of tourist information based on local amenities. No point of information about local area, leaflets and details etc. Good that we had our phones but even then only took the information verbally from locals of places to visit and recommendations. The cottage should have an information folder of local shops, places to visit, travel guidance etc. We had no idea of where and what places of recommendation to visit and was told that one of the staff members would write some places down as natural interest but we never received any such information. Local bus timetable was very unreliable and local taxis companies wanted to charge extortionate prices for a less than 10 mile location one way.

A very cosy and classic looking place to stay in the Cotswolds. Our room was lovely to stay in, warm and spacious. The Inn itself, again, is warm and inviting with a log fire and the adjacent restaurant served excellent food to a very high standard. The produce is obviously sourced locally and it showed, as the quality is superb. The entire staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful and the chefs are excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Not much to complain about all. If I had one observation it would be that parking is limited, so you may find you have to park in the road right outside the Inn. Parking seems to be a problem all across the Cotswolda though and not just at this place.

We liked the location of The Crown. Our upgraded room called 'The Studio' was excellent and only a few yards walk to the front door. It was very quiet and relaxing. The menu is slightly restricted to those, who like us, prefer the more 'straightforward' English dishes but the staff were always willing to discuss alternatives. We must say that all the staff we dealt with were welcoming, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks
We thought, like many places, with some old Cotswold Inns there is a difficult balance between 'quaint old' and 'tired old'. We felt that The Crown was a bit of each. Finally if there was an area like a residents lounge, rather than just the bar, it would have been better,

The Crown is situated in a peaceful village and is a historic building, the character of which has been maintained and it has a nice pub-like atmosphere whilst also providing a restaurant facility. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service was good followed by an excellent breakfast the following morning. Bramley toiletries are a luxurious touch.
Although we had an enjoyable stay, overall we felt that the price of £157.50 was in the high end for a property such as this - albeit near Chipping Norton. The access to the rooms and the room itself, although comfortable, seemed a little tired and in need of some decorative touching up. Although not exclusive to this property by any means we are unhappy at the practice which has emerged at many places to add an 'optional' or 'discretionary' service charge in the restaurant. We wish there was a little bit more straightforwardness and honesty about this and maybe the industry should address this issue.

The staff were really lovely - they helped us with a late check in (via lock box) and also kindly arranged us some breakfast when we missed it. The bathroom in our room was also fantastic.
The room was pretty hot. It was above the kitchen and so I would notice the smell of oil/fat coming up when I walked in to the room which was a bit off putting. There was a fan available which helped, but I think the size of room coupled with the position meant it was generally quite warm. I would go back, but I would definitely book a larger oom.

We booked this as a last minute getaway for our wedding anniversary and it was just what we wanted. The rooms and pub are beautiful. The food is very high quality - they do great vegetarian options for dinner and breakfast. We loved the small touches: tea making facilities in the room, quality bathroom products, laminated walking maps for hikers and fluffy bathrooms. Getting out of our outdoor boots and spending the rest of the evening in the pub in our slippers in front of the fire was brilliant.
Nothing really. It’s not really walking distance to other pubs to go out in the evening but we were happy to go out hiking for the day and eat here both nights.

We stayed there to visit a number of gardens in Oxfordshire and found staff consistently helpful and cheerful. The food was good (although a little less salt would have been better) and a good choice of freshly cooked breakfast options was very much appreciated. We would definitely stay there again.
As ever, restaurant food seems to be very salty. Not good when heart issues dictate low salt. Staff were however very willing to serve sauces, etc separately which meant my husband was able to eat quite happily.

We were given a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival in the bar area and much to our delight our room was upgraded to the studio room. The room itself was stunning with a free standing bath, walk in shower seating area and massive bed all whilst retaining the country charm. We did eat an evening meal here but if it Is anything like the breakfast I would highly recommend. Every single ingredient on the plate had so much flavour. Great location to explore the surrounding areas.

Property was a quaint pub, very cosy and clearly popular with the locals
We both found our breakfast was cold, latte was great👌Bedrooms had a few cobwebs and the floors especially noticeable in the bathroom required cleaning. We stayed in a room which was above the women’s toilets, it was noisy until pub closing hours. Also the noise from Rubbish Bin collection woke us early, no fault of the pub itself. I would recommend that anyone wanting to stay at Church Inn does not book the first room at the top of the stairs, double check with establishment

The staff at the property could not have been more helpful, they were friendly and the drinks /food service was excellent, no long waits or trips to the bar, all our orders were taken at the table. We both had the full english breakfast, with an additional order of toast, which was a good size and very tasty. The properties location was very rural and your own transport would be a must, but we were fully aware of this when booking the accommodation. We would definitely return, I cannot praise the staff enough
The menu choices were a little limited with quite a lot of fish, the chef is obviously accomplished (the plum souffles were excellent), but perhaps some simpler dishes - fillet / rump steak etc
