The service, food and ambience were all lovely. The staff were particularly engaged and helpful and clearly wanted to do a good job. The food, both breakfast and dinner was a level above what you normally expect from a pub. The beer garden outside was a real credit, a proper beer garden with a tree, nice planting and views over the Cotswold countryside

The room was a little bit on the dowdy side, not bad at all but could do with a little updating (flaky paint on windows, tiny ironing board, blue LED rather than cool white in the light, missing iron) but the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were spacious

A fantastic village pub in the beautiful village of Hook Norton. We booked a table in the pub for our evening meal and the home made locally sourced steak pies were incredible. Went for an evening stroll with the pooch afterwards since they were also able to stay over in the room with us for only a 10 pound extra surcharge and enjoyed the seemingly endless starry sky. Absolutely incredible. Went back to the pub to enjoy some evening drinks before heading back to our room. As we stayed over on a Saturday night we weren't expecting it to be quiet until later since its a pub after all but were pleasantly surprised by how little noise travels upstairs. A fantastic place to stay and will happily be back!

It's a lovely country pub in a typical Cotswold village, opposite a medieval church (with a quiet bell), serving great beer made in the village. The dinner was fantastic. We both had ham, egg and chips, all of the very highest quality.

We knew that the kitchen wasn't open at breakfast time. There were boxes of cereal in the room and a fridge with cold milk and fruit juice but there wasn't much space to eat it. After the great meal the night before, a pastry in a sealed plastic bag was a bit of a disappointment. I'd recommend a trip to Hook Norton Brewery for breakfast. They should organise a voucher scheme. We were concerned after we booked and were warned the bar could be noisy until the early hours but it was Monday, so it wasn't.

The hotel/Pub was good , friendly staff and management , just a stones throw from Chipping Norton including Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Great for daily adventures including Silverstone Circuit, Oxford wasn't too far to explore either, The Food and drink was excellent, a nice selection of alcohol and food choices, The Breakfasts were continental, a selection of foods in your room including cereal & Cereal Bars and Yogurts..

Being a bar you sometimes heard loud noises from it , apart from that it was a lovely stay.

We stayed for 2 nights as were visiting Silverstone. Beautiful village location. Free parking. We ate breakfast and evening meal and both were exceptional. Beds very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Easy access to Cotswold locations.

Although the bedroom was roomy it could do with a spruce up. Lick of paint maybe. It did not put us off. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely pub and hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the room was immaculate and well kitted out with plenty of complimentary items.

The downside was the bed wasn’t comfortable, the mattress and/or bed needed replacing as all we could feel were springs and it bowed in the middle. An uncomfortable night’s sleep in what was otherwise, a lovely room. The fan we were given was a desk fan but did not have the cage on which was highly dangerous.

Very warm welcome, bar very inviting and busy with locals and dogs all very friendly , even the people !! Food great .Tapas Evening first evening , initial reaction what else do you have ?? But there was not a choice , other than the tapas which was explained and we all decided to pick 2 dishes each = 8 . It could not have been nicer or tastier, great evening and very well supported by locals. Would recommend without hesitation. Breakfast great. Continental in bedroom / fridge at bottom of stairs , also very adequate, although a English cooked breakfast would be preferable, but understand the reasoning behind the continental Mon to Thursday.

Nothing really , everything more than acceptable.

Good location as only about a mile from our event. Pleasant staff, we didn’t have towels in our room but after advising staff that was quickly rectified. Room comfortable although room 3 overlooks vents from the kitchen which were a bit noisy. We had everything we needed & there were plenty of snacks & fresh milk available. We had a good breakfast of our choice in morning

We were told on arrival that there was now no cooked breakfast available during the week but a continental breakfast would be left in the fridge in the corridor. Unfortunately nothing was left in the fridge the night before and the staff didn’t arrive until 10.30 am just as we were leaving. There was an apology but no breakfast or reimbursement!

Staff were wonderful and extremely accomodating to our early start. They were also kind about us ordering food later than usual (as we arrived late) and keeping the bar open for us so we could unwind after a long day. Highly recommend and definitley will be staying again. Facilities in excellent condition. Beautiful location.
