Nice room, clean and comfy. Staff were all friendly and our dog was welcome. The hotel itself is pretty, plants outside are outstanding.

Toilet seat was a bit iffy, it sort of collapses when you sit on it. two out of three light bulbs were out and both bath taps say cold. No food available for us on Sunday evening or Monday morning for breakfast There was a street party going on outside, I do wish we had been told when we booked. It was very loud and did make it hard to get about and everywhere that served food was full so we ended up eating a sandwich from sainsburys

Spacious room. Comfy bed. Lovely big claw bath. Tea and coffee in room. We’re not really breakfast people so didn’t use this service. Staff very accommodating and polite. Rooms cleaned and replenished everyday. We liked the little room dedicated to Keith moon who use to own the pub in the 60s & 70s. Great location. Jeremy clarksons pub only 25 minutes away well worth a visit and diddly squat farm shop minutes away. Bourbon the water 30 minutes away and stow on the wold about 15 minutes away all very easy to get to with sat nav. Great bakery and lovely coffee shop nearby. We managed to get parked in car park which is accessed of the high street round the back of the pub. Lovely big pub and wasn’t noisy at all at night so slept well.

I like soya or oat milk and they had a few sachets that they gave me but said they don’t always have it, although I didn’t request this when booking as I didn’t think I needed to as I thought most places now have that choice. I think by not serving dinner until 6.30pm they are missing out on potential customers as we found this too late to eat so went elsewhere. They’re the only two things we didn’t like. Having said that we would stay again and would recommend to others as a good place to stay.

Initially our twin room was on 3rd floor as it was the best for a view, but one person has some difficulties with a lot of stairs and there’s no lift. No problem changing it and they even allowed me to choose our room from ones available after a little tour! Fabulous staff and owner advised us on places to visit. Came for Diddly Squat which is only a few miles away. Bourton on the Water beautiful. Room was comfortable, spotless and perfect for us. Bar area lovely. Didn’t try the continental breakfast that was available as we are not breakfast people. Hotel is in perfect central spot for visiting the restaurants and pubs. Free car park at rear too. Cannot fault it, and will definitely stay here again if another trip in the area 😊

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was a lovely size, clean and warm a little worn but that added to the character of the old hotel. Although a limited menu, the food was very nice and well priced, so where the drinks. The weekend full breakfast was really good and the Monday continental was more that adequate and again value for money. The local people were also really friendly and the bar atmosphere was really nice. It is perfect for many locations such as Oxford, Blenheim Palace and many other Cotswold locations.

The only minor compliant I have, is the bed was too hard for me. But I did not mention it, and if I had I am sure that the staff would have either changed rooms for me or assisted in some other way.

Receptionist was very friendly and helpful with parking when we arrived on motorbike. Comfy bed and a clean, good sized room, at the back of the hotel so really quiet too. Location was ideal for our trip.

Decor/carpets a bit dated. Wanted to grab some crisp and nuts at 11pm to take back to our room (no alcohol) as we'd arrived too late to get food from them but was refused. We should have gotten them earlier but after 5hrs on a motorbike we just wanted to chill and didn't expect such a strict finish in the bar. We went out and grabbed a kebab from a little van across the road. That being said, we would still stay here again

Lovely old building . Room was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly . Good location for shops , plenty of tea shops and cafes . If you are fan of Clarksons farm then you will sometimes see Kaleb driving through with his tractor - we were lucky he did just that on the day we were gift shopping- No complaints , just a slight niggle . The mattress was very firm so not the most comfortable. There is very limited parking and breakfast not available on weekdays however , there are plenty of little cafes a few minutes away so it was not a problem - “the old mill “do a very nice breakfast , good price , food was cooked very quickly . We enjoyed our stay overall .

The carpet in the bedrooms and hall way just from cleanliness point of view I prefer wood floor especially if pets are welcome We were woken by next door we were in room 24 and they woke up at 6am and very selfishly made a real noise .Kids shouting and banging no consideration for other people .Hopefully when they stay somewhere else the same thing happens to them . This is not the fault of the hotel just selfish parents who think that only they are there and nobody else matters just them.

The location is great. I was just spending the night after going to Diddly Squat farm and it was close to the bus stop from the farm and back to Oxford the next morning. There is a supermarket across the road and everyone was really lovely. The room was awesome as well it was clean and had everything you could need including an extra heater blanket and hot water bottle if you got cold.

The check in and out was a little bit iffy. I walked in and there was nobody so i rang the bell and the lady seemed very confused and checkout was just adding my keys to the pile of other keys on the desk. The kettle was also dirty.

The room was cold. But i liked how they had tje facilties eg blankets and heater in the room. My only concern was the heater took a while to heat the room up but its the type of heater you wouldn't leave on unattended amd go for your dinner then come back. The blanckets are old and itchy materials. The mattress made you roll into the middle

Lovely quaint hotel stay on the high street. Staff very friendly, and the lady on reception brought my daughter a cake, balloon and present while we were having drinks in the bar for her birthday.lovely gesture. We only stayed 2 nights so our room didn’t get cleaned, except for new cups but we had little treats of chocolate and gin & tonics left for us during our stay, but if we wanted clean towels or any other toiletries just had to ask. They weren’t serving breakfast in the restaurant but each evening brought up a plate of pastries, fruit jams etc for the morning. Dinner is served 6.30-8.30, and the portion sizes are big and very good value for money

Not a “didn’t like”, but there were a quite a few steps to our family room, so maybe a note for the less mobile
