Gorgeous setting in the picturesque village of Lower Slaughter. The dinner in the restaurant was really amazing and the staff attentive and helpful. I hadthe steak and my husband the lamb. Both were delicious. The menu was great for gluten free options and the petit fours truffles were really nice. We had a room with a very comfy bed and loved the roll top bath. I liked the toiletries they left for use and nice choice of drinks by the kettle.
We were on the ground floor and to stop people peering in had to keep the blinds shut the whole time. It wasn't very spacious for the cost and the wardrobe was right next to the bed and hard to get into. Not really much room. I was disappointed that the bar didn't have many good wines by the glass. And I wasn't going to pay £42 for a bottle of my favourite wine. Should have brought my own and kept it in the room fridge.

This property had an old world charm about it. The tranquility of the surrounds was lovely. Plenty of safe walking paths to walk to neighbouring townships. We had a ground floor room which was appreciated as we didn’t need to carry our luggage upstairs, however there was a family with young children above us who appeared to be running around quite regularly during the latter part of the evening and early morning which made our quiet time not so. The wait staff were attentive at meal times and the food was top quality. If we are ever back in this part of the UK, we will definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel set in a lovely quiet location. The cottages were really nice and really cozy, everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was huge and amazingly comfortable, the bedding was really nice and we slept so well. The reception staff were very friendly and met all my requests. The food at breakfast was very good and the breakfast team who were working long shifts due to staff shortages never stopped working. They were chatty and friendly and did not once fail to give good service, and we were given the same service from the same team in the evening when we went into the bar.

the staff were polite and helpful, the room was large and comfortable with a big bathroom. the outdoor space was great for sitting out in good weather, though staff need to clear the tables more frequently, the restaurant was spacious and comfortable. the breakfast menu offered a lot of choice.
the restaurant had only one person to see guests to a table and take orders. he did his best, but he was so rushed that you felt you had to give your order as quickly as possible and not ask any questions, I could see he wanted to move on to the next task. another person working with him would have made the dining experience much better. I had the fish of the day which should have come with roasted new potatoes, however, the potatoes were just a mash of potato and skin, it looked disgusting; also the hollandaise was way too favoured with lemon, it was overpowering.

Beautiful location, we will definitely recommend to our friends and family. We will also return again as we loved our stay. The staff were amazing and I thank you for your kindness in remembering it was hubby’s birthday and both afternoon and morning reception staff said Happy Birthday to him. He was very impressed. He also liked the special touch of the birthday plate of sweets which I had asked for in our room. The upgraded was an added bonus, thank you. The food both in the evening and breakfast was wonderful. Hubby said it was the best breakfast he had had out for a long while. We will definitely return to stay and visit the Cotswolds again. Thank you so much for a perfect overnight stay.

Amazing Location, Bar Staff and Reception staff were very welcoming and attentive. Impressive building, each room was individually named with personal greeting notes. Plenty of car parking
Serving at breakfast was haphazard and not flowing and we had to chase for sauces, coffee etc. 3 of the 4 had a cooked breakfast and when they came no 3 dishes had the same core food. eg only 1 person had a hash brownie, missing from the others. When a fire alarm happened there was a lack of fire evacuation procedure/communication by the staff and we were left to find the fire exit and leave

Lower slaughters is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.
For pre dinner drinks, there was a mass of mud and dirt under The table - Nothing had been cleaned since lunch. I had to clear the old drinks from the table - gave them to the bar and they didn’t even say thank you. I asked to have under the table cleaned for our special dinner - they just half did it, so I asked for the broom and dustpan and did it myself. They put a 10% “optional” tip on the bill without telling me - I checked and removed it. I would have paid a good tip - very sneaky and a disgrace to such a great place.

Breathing taking building inside and out. We got a upgraded room which was a nice surprise. We ate in the pub there sat next to a log fire. When food came out I thought it was a small portion for the price. However the quality of food was perfect. And the portion size was perfect to be able to manage a dessert. Staff were very friendly without being over bearing. Room was really big. and clean.
Only one downside for us was the bed had 2 single mattresses which gave a uncomfortable ridge on the bed.

Beautiful Cotswold hotel in a quiet area free from the shopping tourists. Lower and upper slaughter are what Bourton-on-the-water use to be. It is quiet, pretty and has access to a number of country walks. Bourton is an easy walk away so you don't have to fight for parking spots. Breakfast is wonderful as is all aspects of the restaurant and the very friendly staff. They can't do enough for you. Our room was a good size. the bed was big and very comfortable. The room also had a very functional desk. The bathroom is a good size and water pressure is good. Heating is effective and easy to manage. The hotel is very quiet with beautiful grounds and surrounding areas.
The only thing that was a bit annoying was a weak and slow internet. This could be easily fixed but it is not essential for a get away weekend or week in the Cotswolds. This will be our Cotswolds go to place in the future.
