Exceptionally clean, dog friendly , faultless professional staff who were happy too engage with customers and adapt to thier needs, excellent varied changing menu, bags carried too room ( last two 5 star hotels did not do this, ) large ground floor and gardens and staff regularly patrolled took orders and brought drinks out too garden , no your table has to be vacated by nonesense , dispite high quality food , it came out quickly Example of attention to detail ; lemon for the ice tea came out in a miniature ice bucket with tongs !! Best breakfast menu I have encountered, toiletries provided very high end
The Napkins could have been thicker

The setting was very cosy and inviting. The bar, the restaurant and the room were all lovely. The service was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. One person in particular, I think she is the manager or owner went above and beyond. We were very pleased with quality and standards of the room, and he service and the food. I will only add one small gripe and that it the choice of lightshade in the bedroom. Nice feature but slightly impractical with it's size and position over the bed. We would wholly recommend this place for a romantic stay and meal. We hope to use it again.
Nothing to complain about.

On arriving at the Red Lion, the premises looked beautiful from the outside, and we were not disappointed on entering the bar. We were greeted by a burning fire and very warm welcome from the staff. We were upgraded to another room on arrival and it was truly beyond expectations in all ways. The room was exceptionally clean, the bathroom amenities were excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant and again, it exceeded expectations for both myself and my partner. The staff were extremely friendly and full of advice. We went for a 2 hour walk the following morning and the countryside was stunning. The choice of options for dinner and again breakfast were excellent and I considered it very good value for money.
I could not find fault.

The Red Lion Inn was an excellent place to stay & base yourself at for exploring the area. From when we arrived the staff were very friendly, helpful and extremely hardworking. Our room was tasteful, spotless and comfortable - with lots of extra touches like a coffee machine, homemade shortbread & Molton Brown toiletries. We ate in the pub and the food was superb, a good choice for all palates. We had a table inside but there was also a beautiful garden. As we had an extremely early start, we requested a continental breakfast. This was ready outside our room when we got up and was excellent. Fresh fruit, cereal, pastries and chilled juice. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if in the area. Thank you to all the staff & ‘Bella’ for being so welcoming.

The staff were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The location was ideal for exploring the many surrounding villages - Snowshill, Broadway, Great Tew. The food served for dinner and also breakfast was very high quality and reasonable too.
The room was hot on the night and even though we'd been provided with a fan, which was greatly appreciated, it just meant we didn't sleep very well. I'd asked in advance if anything could be done for my mum's 60th birthday, as that was the reason for our visit, but it wasn't mentioned which disappointed me a little as I'd hoped for a more personable stay with it being a small B&B.

Lots of character in this old building, sympathetically converted. Every need catered for by caring staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. The place was immaculate. There were ‘touches’ around my room and the building itself that I’ve not even experienced in 4* or 5* properties. The food was also exceptional. I live in France so will not be able to return as soon or as often as I certainly would wish!
Nothing!

We were going to be leaving very early on our departure day so mentioned that we wouldn't require breakfast. Very kindly we were told that it was no problem, they would leave a breakfast, fruit, yogurt and some pastries outside our door for our journey. We were a little disappointed it didnt materialise but not unhappily so. These things happen. The stay at the Red Lion was superb, it's up there as one of the nicest pubs we've stayed in.
Sorry, can't write a couple of sentences of what we didn't like as there is nothing we didn't like !

Red Lion Inn really made an impression on me. It was so incredibly cozy--my room was a tiny attic room, and yet I had everything I needed, and enjoyed snuggling up there. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast and dinners even more, the latter when it got nice and lively at night by the fire. This place is everything you want an English countryside inn to be.

Breakfast very good. Staff extremely kind. A good start point for many activities. Highly recommendable. Very pleasant stay (thanks again to everyone who was involved). Next time we will book more time (promised!) ...
Just one little point that prevents me from giving full 10 points. We are used to sleep with open windows and the rooms are directly at a road that is used from 6 am on in the morning more than we expected.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The pub is a lovely old building but with classy decoration, fires going in the fireplace, little corridors, cute rooms. Very cute. The room has everything you might expect. Great choice of drinks including a Nespresso coffee machine. Shower gels and shampoos. Really well kitted out. The food was also excellent. Definitely a step above the usual pub food.
