The Swann is a great choice if anyone wants to get into the classic Cotswolds experience from a location that has buses going to each of the well-known locations. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable and all our wishes and needs were taken care off. During our stay there was no breakfast available at the inn (we knew about this) but for that we got a voucher which we could use at the café just across the street. It was a lovely solution.
The Inn is located at a busy cross section and there are no crossings nearby (this is not the inn's fault) but getting to the other side can feel unsafe as the traffic constantly flows. The inn itself is very old and this as much as this adds to its charm the need grows for some refurbishment (some damages in the walls and floors). Don't get me wrong, the place is in a good condition, but the time left its visible marks over the years.

The Swan Inn made a perfect base for a week exploring the Cotswolds. It's in a great central location in Moreton in Marsh with easy parking. I had a lovely room with a large en suite with a good powerful shower. Despite the rather warm weather during my holiday the room stayed a reasonable temperature and the soundproofing on the window meant that, even though my room was on the road side of the building, the traffic noise was not a problem. Breakfasts at the local Lynwood cafe were delicious with a nice range of options on the menu. Simon and his staff were really friendly and welcoming and I couldn't have asked for a nicer stay.

The Swan Inn is a small boutique hotel with about 8 rooms and a fantastic host (Simon and his team). Simon is super helpful a great person to meet and you feel like part of the family! When I was there you went for breakfast accross the road to a lovely café where you could select your breakfast dish (for example either granola or scrambled egg on toast or toast and jam + 1 hot drink). I read in one of the reviews that someone commented on the room (wallpaper not perfect) - for me the place has a great atmosphere, it doesn't need to be perfect.
The room I slept in smelt a little bit damp, I believe it was going to get seen to though. My window faced the roundabout, so with the window open (hot summer day) you could hear the traffic.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Especially Simon! The bed was super comfy too. You get a code for the back door in case you get back late. Don't leave it in your room and forget it, like I did! Nice, characterful hotel, with lovely, friendly host.
Breakfast is served in a cafe across the road. Get there early, or the tourists will get there first. I was too late on the first morning and there was a 40 min wait for hot food. So I gave it a miss. I'll book room only next time. I thought it would be a quiet village, but the road next to the hotel is very busy, and the lorries made the bed shake! Didn't disturb my sleep though. 😊

I booked a double bed room for 3 nights but for some reason I was given a small single bed room. The owner Simon learned about it and found me a bigger room with 2 Twin Bed put together for 2nd and 3rd night. I am really appreciative of what he has done to recover the mistake and made my stay a memorable one. The receptionist, housekeeping lady, bar tender and the owner were all highly hospitable and helpful. The Twin Bed room was very comfortable, spacious, soft bed which I like, and consistent warm water supply for shower. Breakfast menu was good though provided by a nearby cafe. Less than 100m to the bus stop where I could take bus to other villages., less than 15min walk to train station. Supermarket within 10 min walk.
Due to booking.com mistake, I had to spend a night in the small single bed room. I had to jump over my luggage to get from one point to another, struggled to shower with instant shower heater that was either super cold or super hot when I turned it on or off.

The location is excellent as it’s on Moreton-in Marsh’s beautiful high street . For breakfast we had a printed menu, which had a full range of options. The service was friendly and prompt and the food very nice. One nice touch was a cafetière in our bedroom along with small pretty coffee cups and saucers. That was, of course, along with the usual tea and coffee making equipment.

Great communication from booking to check in. Simon, the owner, made me feel so welcome upon arrival. All staff were super friendly. Perfect location to the town. 6 minute walk to train station. Spacious room with ensuite lovely linen and towels. It's great having a fan in the room. When I stayed, there was a heat wave in the UK. Close to bus connections to other towns in Cotswalds.
Internet kept cutting in and out while trying to watch a movie. Due to being a dated building, the plumbing needs attention. Tiolet takes a few attempts to flush, water in the bottom of the shower takes ages to drain. I was concerned it may flood the bathroom, so I turned shower on and off to let water slowly drain away. Due to the location of the room being street facing, it is very noisy on Saturday night. Decor is dated. I do know the new owner is working stage by stage to update this establishment, which has so much potential. Would stay again.

The service was friendly an first class, as was the food. The location, mid town was perfect for me.
Wifi was slow.

An excellent Inn that was clean and well-appointed. Close to the train station, in the middle of Moreton and very central for buses all around the Cotswolds (bus stop a 2min walk away). Was not too loud, even above the pub and with a room facing the road. Simon and the team were so friendly and accommodating as the new management, even giving us a couple of lifts when we got stuck with the lack of taxis. They gave us so many helpful tips about where to go as well. We also had dinner at the Inn one night and it was an excellent classic pub meal, and we had vouchers to have breakfast at an excellent cafe across the road due to the changeover. Highly recommend a stay, such a lovely and seamless experience.

The Swan Inn is perfectly located in the middle of Moreton-in-Marsh within easy walking distance to shops, cafes and pubs/restaurants. There was customer parking, but also plenty of off road parking available nearby on Swan Close. The room was cosy, with standard amenities. The hotel is currently under new ownership, so is undergoing refurbishment, however this in no way affected my stay. The kitchen is out of action, so breakfast was provided at the trendy cafe across the road; the food was excellent, the most generous portion of scrambled eggs i've ever had! The new landlord Simon and staff are delightful and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I was staying for work, but it was the first time in ages i've felt properly relaxed, as if I was on holiday.
The decor in the rooms was a bit tired, but again the hotel is under new ownership so I imagine in time everything will be getting a new lick of paint.
