The room felt fresh and well maintained and thought has obviously gone into the layout and facilities provided, materials were pleasant not tacky. Breakfast was generous and reasonably priced, parking easy and included. It is obviously an old building so there are awkward stairs and turns, corridors are narrow, some ceilings are very low, but, that's the nature and, if you like, the charm of it. Although mid-September we caught some cool, windy and wet weather and it was good that the towel radiator was on all the time and that we had control of the heating in the bedroom itself, which was easy to keep cosy. We had a room (4) right over the entrance with a nice view over the high street, noise wasn't a problem.

Could have been sweetener as well as sugar for tea/coffee, though the tea and coffee provided were premium brands. Bedside lights with USBs would be a good addition. The shower was strong and the enclosure generous but given that it was odd that the basin taps were a bit on the dribbly side.

Central location, good parking. Very friendly and attentive staff, couldn’t do enough for you! Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. Room small but that wasn’t a problem, nice little touches and extras included

Family of 4 staying in 2 rooms, one in the pub and one in the annex. The pub room, the shower was not as good, but not a big issue and their fan didn’t work very well so room was very hot during a heatwave wave. We were in the annex, woken up by a house alarm ringing for about an hour - nothing to do with the pub as it was a nearby house. There was also a delivery very early that also woke us up, other than that we slept well and would not put me off staying again.

Great staff, Arnold showed me to our room and helped with our bags. We were given a flask of fresh cold milk for our morning tea and a lovely touch was the complimentary beer from the pubs own brewery. Delicious chocolate brownies, water and quality tea pigs (teabags). The room was fine. My only comment was they could do with freshening the carpets up-the room was slightly ‘fusty’. Apart from that everything was great. The dinner was good and breakfast was excellent. Big car park at the rear of the pub and its location is great - right in the middle of Chipping Norton. We will be returning. Thank you

The room was a good size, bed large and comfortable, included a DAB+ radio as well as a good-sized Smart TV and there was plenty of storage. The excellent bathroom had a spacious walk-in shower instead of a bath - my preference always. Breakfast was very well cooked and completely filling. Dinner excellent also. Staff very friendly and helpful when asked.

I didn't expect the nearby Town Hall bell to ring 'hourly' throughout the night. Early morning HGV traffic quite noisy too, with the room being above the main street, but that was to be expected with the location.

Great location in the heart of Chippy. Friendly staff. Good sized rooms and a good sized and powerful shower. We enjoyed our stay.

The room was so hot (because of the weather we’re currently experiencing) 🤷🏻‍♂️ but arguably very little they can do so I’m not moaning, I’m just flagging for other guests… We’ve just stayed (20th June 2025) and with UK climates being so warm 🥵 there is No air con in the rooms. Although, it’s probably not commercially viable to install air con. There is portable fan is in the room to try and circulate air - but temps have surpassed its usefulness. Just make sure you have a glass of water at the ready.

The room was very cosy and comfortable - lots of little touches like a radio and a flask for fresh milk to go with the teabags. Loved the tea pigs tea bags! Very nice staff, very well trained and hospitable. Good breakfast selection. Great location to wander around Chipping Norton and beyond on the bank holiday weekend. Dinner was lovely - we had two roasts - veggie and a meat one. Would definitely stay again - was made to feel very welcome and felt that it seemed a friendly place to work, too. Staff seemed to get on with each other and help each other.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Fox. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was lovely and service was very good, too. Our room was clean, and we had tea & coffee etc..

The wardrobe in our room could've done with a few more clothes hangers. Also, the fan didn't seem to be working, in the bathroom. The sink plug, in the bathroom wasn't too great, the water seemed to run away after a while. Also the bedside cabinet door didn't seem to want to stay closed. But we really enjoyed our stay at the Fox, and would definitely go again. 😀

We were very pleasantly greeted by the manager who showed us to the room himself after asking us if we'd like fresh milk for tea/coffee making. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. There was a nicely-scented reed diffuser and complimentary mini-brownies, still water and bottle of local ale were provided - all thoughtful touches we appreciated. Parking was handily accessible from the back of the pub which made it easy to load/unload luggage to the room.

Minor detail: it would be useful to have extra shelving (or a small floor unit) for toiletries in the spacious bathroom.

The Staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful. The only thing was they could not generate me a Receipt with the VAT showing. The Room was imaculate and faultless. I had added extra's. Bottle of local beer and 2 cans of high end water. Tea,Coffer biscuits and 2 x brownie's. I have to say it was one of the best places I have stayed through booking .com. I paid a great price and got accomodation that went way above what I had paid. When next in the area I will certainly stay here. it was exceptional

Lovely room in a great location, ideal for exploring the Cotswolds. Food served was fabulous, definitely recommend booking for Sunday dinners! All of the staff made such a great team, even if they were busy you were acknowledged and someone was along to help very quickly.

If we were to say anything we didn't like/could be improved (being picky here as had a great stay), the carpet in the room was visibly dirty in places and the room had marks on the walls that could be touched up to keep it looking fresh.
