The staff, especially the landlord, were friendly & accommodating. The Greek mezze at dinner , was excellent & a pleasant surprise. There was no cooked breakfast, but quite honestly, after all the food on the previous night and given the hot weather, we didn't miss it! There was an excellent selection of cereals, fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, wholemeal toast & jam & honey. Good coffee too.

The room was small and only had one very small window to open. Given the hot weather, it made for an uncomfortable night. The mattress was quite hard & creaky and as we are in our 70s & 80s, already full of aches & pains, again, this made for an uncomfortable night. The bathroom took the phrase "compact & bijou" to new heights & was an object lesson in ergonomics. That said, it had everything that was required, including a good shower.

Staff were friendly, room was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The location is stunning with some nice local walks. Evening meal was delicious, good portions and reasonably priced. The pub itself was cosy and inviting, quiet during my stay which meant I had the place to myself I was set up for dinner next to a log fire which added to the cosiness. The landlord came and chatted during my meal to see if all was ok but he wasn't overbearing. I was due to leave before breakfast so they organised a breakfast tray for me for the morning.

My only suggestion (because I have to say something negative on the app review) is perhaps an extra yoghurt portion to go with the bowl of cereal. But that is the only negative I can think of for what was a very pleasant stay.

Had breakfast and Evening meal - both were excellent. The staff are caring courteous (April - you were a star) and could not do more for their guests. Our bedroom was fine and the bed really comfortable. Tea / Coffee Water and juice was provided along with cookies. The ambiance of the locals in the bar was obvious and it was a popular 'watering hole' - the locals have a great pub. Quiet and in a lovely location.

Absolutely nothing - this place is on our list for visiting Stratford and also the nearby villages such as Chipping Norton / Moreton in the Marsh / Burford and of course Jeremy Clarkson's farm if you are interested!!!! WE will return undoubtedly this is a real find. If there is anything you don't like we would be mystified !!

This was our second overnight stay in 5 days. When we left previously we looked forward gleefully to our return. We arrived in mid-afternoon to find a regular group of locals involved in games of bridge. Our host interrupted his hand to show us to our room. Our meal that evening was exceptional, and the craic was mighty. When we left the next morning we felt like we were leaving family. Probably one of the best b&b experiences of our lives. Thank you

Comfortable bed and quiet location. Some nice touches in room such as fresh milk and orange juice. Breakfast was included in my stay and this was very tasty The Stags Head offers food and has a bar - had a lovely evening meal when I stayed. People I met in the village were very friendly.

A mini fridge in the wardrobe was very nice to keep the milk and orange juice chilled was a nice touch but very noisy (in my room and next door). I turned mine off and next door must have done so as well in the evening. Think I'd prefer a cooler box with cooler block to keep things cool as if next door hadn't turned off their mini fridge it would have been a very noisy night and for what was such a nice, peaceful location that would have been a shame.

The Stags head is a hidden gem in a lovely quiet location the room iwas cosy and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be staying on the last Saturday of the month when they have their Greek night, the evening was really good with mezze of lovely food served over a couple of hours. A lovely relaxed evening. We will go back and stay again.

There was nothing to dislike

Tiny pub with a couple of rooms, great hosts, and lovely food. Excellent location for exploring area - but beware how dark the roads are if you are returning late at night. My room was tiny but very comfortable and one of the few places I've happily stayed in all day when it was too wet to venture out.

Great little place to stay. The owner was very pleasant, breakfast was very good , certainly better than some of the chains we've stayed at recently . It should be noted that the bedroom was very well equipped , with a really comfy large bed, however the room is a bit tight on space. But the general ambience makes up for it. Parking might prove an issue on busy nights, but there are some spaces nearby. The village itself is proper chocolate box Oxfordshire and worth a look at .

Not a lot really.

Check in was smooth. I was warmly welcomed. The staff were fantastic, and the room was homely, cosy and welcoming. Little personal touches like bottled water and milk in the fridge was fantastic. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend breakfast, due to me having to leave very early but they went through the effort of making me an amazing 'takeaway' breakfast (Granola, yogurt, bread, jam and fruit), so I could eat before I left in the morning. The pub was lovely, and the food was delicious. I had the beef and ale pie, which was fantastic.

I couldn't fault the place. The price, location, welcoming and accommodation was faultless. Would definitely try and book this place again, next time I'm in the area. If I had to be picky, there is a 'ticking' clock in the room, which may affect 'light' sleepers, although I found it quite soothing (Nan's house as a child).

The pub was very pretty, in a beautiful village. The owners were very friendly. I didn't eat at the restaurant, as I arrived late, but would loved to have tried the Greek menu. The room was clean and comfortable. Lovely light and healthy breakfast, of granola, fresh fruit, greek yogurt and toast, which was just what I needed. I will definitely return if I travel this way again.
